Tase. T. Lollipop and his Candy Eyes

PAGE ONE:1

Not far away, in a world on the edge of dreams, lies a land where the mountains are dusted with icing sugar, the clouds are made of cotton candy, and the countryside hills are ice-cream. This wonderful place is called….Candyland. 2

PAGE TWO:3

This story is about one particularly  fine fellow of Candyland. His name was Tase. T. Lollipop. His closest friends just called him Tasty. 4

PAGE THREE:5

Tasty’s favourite spot in his town was down by the Cream Soda River, where he would fish for bubble gum and toffee. He was always hoping to catch something on of those days. 6

PAGE FOUR:7

One very hot day while Tasty was fishing, the icing holding his eyes to his colourful face began to un-stick. Without him realizing what was happening, his candy eyes gradually slid off his face and fell – plop – into the river! 8

PAGE FIVE:9

“Oh no!” said the newly-blind lollipop. “How on earth am going to find my eyes if can’t see to search for them?” 10

PAGE SIX:11

But Tase. T. Lollipop was a brave little lollipop man, and he didn’t get upset. He didn’t even panic. He started to think very fast of a plan to regain his eyes and his sense of sight. 12

PAGE SEVEN:13

“Maybe I can fish for my eyes?” Tasty wondered. So he tried. 14

PAGE EIGHT:15

He got a sugar-covered gummy candy on his fishing hook, 16

PAGE NINE:17

and a chewy piece of toffee. 18

PAGE TEN:19

But no eyes! 20

PAGE ELEVEN:21

What else could he try? Tasty thought and thought and thought and thought! Finally, he had another idea: he would swim to find his eyes! 22

PAGE TWELEVE:23

So Tasty swam… 24

PAGE THIRTEEN:25

…and swam, and swam, and swam! 26

PAGE FOURTEEN:27

But he had to stop before the waves ate him up – literally! Exhuasted, Tasty crawled back up the riverbank. 28

PAGE FIFTEEN:29

Now Tasty had no idea what to do. His eyes were lost. Tasty felt like crying, but not having any eyes to cry with – he couldn’t! 30

PAGE SIXTEEN:31

Just when Tasty thought all was hopeless, his good friend D. Licious came along and saw him. When Tasty told D.L. (for that is what she was called) he’d lost his eyes, she took him to town to buy a pair of new candy eyes. 32

PAGE SEVENTEEN:33

The nice old man behind the counter was very understanding. Tasty got a brand new pair of eyes and thanked D.L. for helping him. 34

PAGE EIGHTEEN:35

Eagerly, Tasty put on his new eyes. 36

PAGE NINETEEN:37

From that day on, Tasty made sure he used the right icing recipe for gluing on his eyes. 38

PAGE TWENTY:39

And that is the story of Tase. T. Lollipop and his candy eyes! The end!!!40

Author notes

This is a "book" I'm making with the two girls I'm babysitting. lol. In case you were wondering on the set-up of the story, each page has an illustration (although my stapled papers and duck tape binding lacks something than a real published children's story). PAGE ONE has a picture of Candyland, PAGE TWO has a picture of Tase. T. Lollipop, PAGE THREE has a picture of "Tasty" fishing. lol.

Cute story, I think the separating using page one page two makes it seem less long and holds attention. Very well done.

Hahah, well normally skimming through stories I abruptly leave when something loses my interest, but you managed to keep it. At least this is something different, a change of pace. In terms of kids stories I think this is great, I'd probably have loved something like this as a kid. As a matter of fact, barring the fact there are no illustrations, I think its a fun idea that gets you thinking about the scenery at least. Tase.T.Lollipop, heheh, very cute name. When I was babysitting a while back I was always coming up with new and fun things for the kids to do. But this is an awesome idea, wish I had thought of it at the time!
