Remembering Love - Chapter one – 20081

Sitting across from Matthew, Paul could feel his body tremble slightly. He wasn’t sure whether he was anxious, nervous or just plain angry that he’d left so abruptly, and returned in the same manner.2

“I missed you,” Matthew sighed, “More than you’d know.”3

“Is that why you came home?” Paul sighed, “Or was it simply to fuck with my heart again.” He turned his gaze to Matthew, letting the look in his eyes burn into him.4

“Paul,” Matthew looked away, “I didn’t mean to,”5

“You never mean to do anything!” Paul exclaimed, causing a few people to look their way. He looked at them all, one by one, then back to Matthew.6

“I love you Paul, I really do.” He sighed, looking into the emerald eyes that were burning holes into his heart.7

“You wh-wh-what?” he stuttered, “You didn’t just,”8

“I did.” Matthew looked away, his cheeks slowly tinting crimson.9

“You’ve never loved anyone in your life Matthew,” Paul sighed angrily, “What makes you think you love me!” 10

“Because for 2 years I’ve laid in bed dreaming of you, I’ve spent every fucking moment missing you, writing song after song about you!” He yelled, not caring who heard anymore, “Have you ever listened to ‘I’ve never met another’ or ‘I can’t sleep without you’! There for you fuck wit!” 11

“Don’t swear Matthew,” he sighed, “Can we go to mine or something, I don’t want the world knowing were arguing here.” 12

“I thought you didn’t care anymore.” He argued, eagerly wanting to go back to his house with him.13

“Hurry up before I change my mind,” he looked into his eyes, “You might get lucky, and I won’t slaughter you.” He finished with a grin before walking out of the door. Matthew stood up and ran after him, wanting to tackle him to the ground before kissing him with the urgency he felt so strongly.14

“Paul, wait!” he called out.15

“What?” he turned around and was confronted with the feeling of Matthew’s lips pressing against his. He let Matthew’s arms hold him closely as his tongue entered his mouth, desperately searching for his. When Matthew pulled away startled Paul moaned lightly.16

“Sorry.” Matthew blushed, causing Paul to smile.17

“You can come home if you promise to do that again,” Paul looked at him seriously, “I’ve honestly never experienced you like that.” He kept eye contact as Matthew moved closer, nudging his nose against Paul’s.18

“I decided I love you,” Matthew smiled, “I really fucking love you.”19

“Well kiss me again,” he grinned as their lips met briefly, “but not as well, I think I’d collapse.”20

“Lets just go to your house, cause I can’t be caught,”21

“Kissing me?” Paul sighed, “I knew some thing’s couldn’t of changed.” 22

“You know my parents sweetheart,” he kissed Paul’s hand softly before they began to walk, hand in hand, towards the suburbs, “They’re new to the whole,”23

“Me intruding into the perfect lifestyle of they’re ever so perfect son and warping him into some dark haired prick?” he grinned a cheeky smile and looked at the houses they were passing.24

“Why did it just sound like me coming out of your mouth?” Matthew snapped, causing Paul to stop in the middle of the road abruptly.25

“Don’t start. Don’t start now please. I’m here aren’t I? Isn’t that enough?” Matthew argued, interrupting Paul. They looked one another in the eyes, Paul’s emerald eyes shinning slightly from tears. Without saying a word both boys continued up the street. 27

“No,” Paul sighed, “It never was enough.”28
