InBetween The cracks Chapter One

The worst day for Chelsey Smith happened on Valentines Day, the day that she told me was the worst day of the year since. Chelsey always used to love Valentines Day, the flowers, the chocolates, the romance, and all of the beautiful colors everywhere. 1

It was a Monday and Chelsey woke up excited because her boyfriend Kyle told her the day before on the phone that there was something he had to tell her. She had told me right after that she thought he was finally going to tell her that he loved her after a whole entire year of dating officially the next day (Valentines Day). 2

Chelsey ran as fast as she could to school even though if she walked it would be five minutes from her house to the HighSchool. After only tow short minutes of sprinting up the hill on her street Chelsey got tired, so her body forced her to stop. Chelsey found herself almost at the top, but she was too tired to run it, so she walked. The houses on her street were small. But she loved her house. Her house was a pretty brown color for the bricks, and a brown/green color for the roof. All of the houses around her house were really old. Some of them rebuilt because of fires, or the roofs just collapsed. The summer before last Chelsey and many other people protested against the construction of the houses. That’s how she met Kyle. As Chelsey got lost in her thoughts she noticed she was across the street from the large HighSchool. 3

Right when she got in the building she ran up to the second floor straight to Kyle’s locker. But he wasn’t there; the hallway was completely empty, which was unusual because that hallway is right across from the main doorway to the library. The only person who was walking in the hallway was Kyle’s best friend Justin.4

“Hey Justin, have you seen Kyle anywhere at all this morning?” Chelsey asked in a desperate, tired voice.5

“Umm no I don’t think so, sorry. I’ll see you in history later chels-.” Justin called.6

“Thanks’ then walked up the hottest guy in school, Danny McGonagall. Danny was really tall and captain of every sport at there school. He had Short black hair, and dark stormy brown eyes. Justin was on the football team with Danny, so he was also very tall. Chelsey had giant crush on him in the eighth grade. She always liked him for his curly brown hair, and his green eyes. “Hey Danny.” Chelsey called. “Hey Chelsey, Yo Justin have you done the project that was due today in English?” Danny asked Justin.7

“Ahh damn it, I’ll just do it in the library now. Hey have you seen Kyle anywhere?” Justin asked Danny.8

“Yea he was walking to the cafeteria with Melanie Bird, She’s hot!” Kyle answered.9

At that Chelsey quickly ran away downstairs to the cafeteria to find him. 10

As she was sprinting down the stairs she heard a noise behind her, it sounded like a girl, with a high-pitched voice calling her name. looked back the way she was running and when she looked ahead of her again there was a person right in front of her, face to face. To close to stop the two of them bumped heads and the other persons books came smashing down to the floor.11

“O My god, I am so sorry, im justinahurrytogettothecafeteria…”She was cut off12

“it’s ok there just math text books, the world can live without these horrid things anyway.’ The person answered. ‘Let me introduce myself. I’m Riley, riley Graham’13

“Nice to meet you, I’m Chelsey Smith.”14

“Yeah I no, we were in science third period together last semester, I sat three rows behind you.”15

“Ooo umm, I think I remember’ Chelsey said sarcastically. She looked at her watch and saw that she had to make her way to the cafeteria.’ Well nice re-meeting you but I have to go, I’ll talk to you later, bye!’ and she left. 16

“Bye, Sara smith.” Riley said to him self. 17

At last Chelsey made her way to the cafeteria to see Kyle. She opened the doors and she saw a group of dorky chess players, the smoker gang picking on the dorky chess players the blonde cheerleaders and the Band players in the corner. So it was obvious to Chelsey that she had missed Kyle.18

As she was walking away she noticed in the corner of her eye in the phone booth were two people. She kept walking. Then a moment later the faces of the two people came into her mind, well one of them. It was Kyle.19
