The sound of an alarm woke up a young girl of just 17. The light of the sun was just turning the sky a nice purple and pink. The girl sighed and whipped her blanket off her as she stood and stretched. She didn’t want to get up, but knew that it sadly was once again Monday, the start of another boring week. Tara turned to see that her cat, a big fat black and white cat by the name of Joey, was lying on her pillow.1
“So that is why I have a kink in my neck. You lied on my head, you fat cat.” said Tara to the cat with a side-glance at the cat.2
The cat open one eye and meow at her. He seemed to care, a lot. Tara jumped in the shower to find the water calming as it ran down her back and neck. She stepped out to see that the cat followed her into the bathroom and wanted something by the look in his eyes.3
“Oh, do you want food or love? Knowing you, you want food. Just a minute let me get dressed.” Tara told the cat, who just tilted its head and followed Tara to her closet.4
It didn’t take long for her to choose her clothes out. The normal school uniform of grey skirt and black shirt with a grey bow/tie and black sock with shoes. Tara only wished that girls didn’t have to wear skirt, but could wear pants like the guys. The only reason she was going to that stupid boarding school was because of her own stupid fault; well, that is what she thought.5
She raced the cat down the stairs, now that she was done getting dressed. She slid on the tile flooring beating the cat, who was panting and flopped down. That was too much exercise for him, I guess. Tara thought as she put new food in Joey’s bowl. Then sat down to think of what to eat herself. As she decided just to eat at school, her step-dad walked in all dressed up in a suit. He was Tara’s fault, too. Tara’s mom followed and kissed him on the cheek. Yuck!6
“Well, I’m going. See ya.” Said Tara as she stepped out of the kitchen7
“Wait, Tara. Aren’t you going to eat anything?” shouted Tara’s Mom.8
“How can I? I’ll throw up with what you two are doing in there,” muttered Tara.9
“What?!”10
“Nothing! Stupid parents…” sighed Tara.11
She walked to the corner of Daker Lane, stopped for cars then slowly moved on.12
It is entirely my fault, all my fault. How could I just have stood there…? I miss you, dad.13
Tara sighed at the idea of her father and moved on to the dream she had last night. She never had or remembered her dreams and this one was so real and…I’m starting to sound crazy. That dream of that boy and women was not real and any way how can it be real?14
“Tara! Tara!”15
Tara turned to see a screaming girl running at her. Tara jumped out of her way and she ran into the street sign that was just in front of Tara. The girl fell to her knee rubbing her nose, right on the verge of crying.16
“Sorry, Megan… I-“17
“I told you to call me Queen Fred-geek-ka!” shouted Megan, as she jumped to her feet, not one tear in her eyes. 18
That’s Megan alright.19
“OK, whatever. Fred-geek-ka.” I remarked, rolling my eyes.20
“QUEEN Fred-geek-ka to you.” protested Megan, “You forgot to get me and I had to chase after you, and because of you I put on two different socks!” Sure enough, Megan was wearing two different socks, one was purple and the other was blue, when Tara looked down.21
“Sorry, I just didn’t remember. Just a long night.” I laughed at myself at forgetting Megan.22
“Slept badly?” Megan looked at me with a face that you would give a baby.23
“No, I jus-“24
“WELL, I dreamed of…”25
As Megan went off telling me of stories of dreams she had, which she could make a book out of, I started walking on. Megan was chasing and talking to me, but I choose to ignore her as she chattered on and on. Just giving a nod every once and a while to seem like I was listening.26
What was I think of before Fred-geek-ka came?27
That is Queen Fred-geek-ka.28
Oh, there is that stupid little other voice of mine that is always there! Oh, well… The dream, yeah! That was weird, but I … I just-29
“School hoi, Me Cap-ta-in!” Megan shouted as she stood on one foot and with the other in the air, looking down at the school30
“You better put your foot down before someone looks up your skirt.” Tara sighed.31
