A young girl, about the age of thirteen, ran through the streets of Lilyethye. Lileythye was an old town. It's name meant, "Place Of Lily's." It was filled with many flowers, most of which were lily's, which explains it's name. As she ran, her long white hair trailed behind her. 1
She cut up an alleyway, and stopped dead. There stood her sister. People knew her as Gothic-Fighter, but the girl knew her true name.
"Kiori? Why are you here?" She just smirked at her sister.
"I should be asking you the same question, Marina Ayoreina!" She whispered through clenched teeth. "A thriteen-year-old girl running around the streets at night. What people must think of you!" As Kiori(Gothic-Fighter) said this, her smile grew. She was not fond of Marina, Even though they were of the same flesh and blood.2
"While you're off playing hero, we have absolutely no food," Marina's voice quivered. "You used to bring the food home. Now I'm forced to steal everything for us, even though I know it's wrong." Marina was now crying. She started to push past Kiori, but Kiori wouldn't let her go. She pulled Marina back and said, "Stealing now? I should tell Jenji about this!" Marina was horrified. Not just because she could get one of her hands chopped off for stealing, but that her sister said Masters name! They weren't aloud to do that!3
Again Marina tried to push past her sister. This time Kiori moved out of the way. Marina went running. She wasn't even paying attention to where she was running. She was just staring down at her black shoes. After ten minutes of running, she accidentally bumped into her crush, Light Ayonamu. He fell down, and so did she. Marina immediatly stood up and brushed herself off. She extended a hand, and helped him up.4
"I- I'm sorry Ayonamu-kun. I- It's my f-fault," She stammered. He smiled and said, "It's quite all right. I'm fine. Are you?" The question surprised her. She was nervous around him.
"I- I'm fine. I'm glad I didn't hurt you." She smiled and started to walk away. Light grabbed her by the arm.5
"Ayoreina-san," He began. "Please wait. I must talk to you." He seemed somewhat relieved. She politely smiled, "Go ahead and say it."
"I was wondering, would you like to come over tonight. I- I have to show you something, but it can't be brought out of the house."
Marina practicly screamed this, "Yes, of course. I'd be delighted!" When people started to stream through the streets, Light ran towards his house. Marina stood there daydreaming, then she ran home, without food or drink...
