The Wolves' Pursuit

Glimmering moon1

Full in the sky2

Silver cast strewn3

In rippled water of wry4

Through forest trees5

Runs a frantic deer6

Icy cold breeze7

Eyes widened in fear8

Stalking close behind9

The pack nears its prey10

A deer's racing mind11

They wish to slay12

Bloodied claws tear13

Pure white fangs snap14

Long ruffled gray hair15

Leave the deer a mere scrap16

A ominous low howl17

Sounds through the woods18

Entwined in coos from an owl19

Beauty is misunderstood

Author notes

I wrote it for the contest, but I don't think it can compare to most of the others...

A contest entry

I don't think it's as good as others in the contest, but I gave it a try... What do you think?

Hay beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think you did some really beautiful wording with this poem..

    It was rather enchanting really.

I love wolves and anything as beautiful as these creatures:)
