Camryn ran in circles, him arms out wide like an airplane, around the kiddie pool he and Pepper had dragged from the garage. Blistering but beautiful, the sun radiated from its high point in the cloudless sky. A hose like a thick green snake swirled across the grass and the nozzle, which rested inside the pool, emptying quarts of water.1
Pepper, a bouncy girl with her black hair tied up into two pigtails on each side of her head, stepped out into the sun and shading her eyes from the sun. Cameryn tossed his blond hair out of his green eyes and ran up to Pepper.2
“It’s almost filled,” he said. His face and shoulders were sunburned red, but he didn’t seem to care.3
“Okay. Remember to take out any crap that is in your pockets, it gets ruined in the pool. And loose change will ruin the plastic.” Pepper said kindly, tapping Camryn’s burned shoulder.4
“Ow! Ow! That hurts!” her friend cried.5
“Well you should have put sun block on!”6
“I did, I did. My brother did it for me yesterday when we went to the lake.”7
Pepper hit her forehead with her palm. “That was pancake syrup you dope! Your brother pulled a prank on you, don’t you remember?”8
Realization dawned on Camryn and his face flushed beneath the sunburn as he emptied his pockets of many pennies and nickels. “Oh…”9
Soon enough, the kiddie pool was filled in cool, sparkling water. The still surface of the small pool was broken as Pepper’s younger brother Tom and Camryn splashed the glassy surface. Because Tom was very young, he had to wear a water diaper to prevent anything nasty from getting into the pool.10
Under the shade of a tall oak sapling, Pepper watched her brother and friend splash around. She yawned and closed her eyes, falling asleep quickly.11
While Pepper was sleeping, her mother came out with a loaf of fresh bread and lunchmeat. She served the lunch quietly to not wake Pepper, and cleaned away the food so the flies wouldn’t get it once everyone was done.
Camryn and Tom splashed in the kiddie pool like they were both the same age until Camryn’s mom came to pick him up. Pepper woke back up shortly before Camryn left to sit in the pool for a bit. She had a totally different personality than her best friend.

Author notes
I let it rip one day and here it is. I had a somewhat easy time tying everything in, but ending it was a tad difficult. I don't believe this is winner material, but I'm just a writer in the competition.. not a judge.
Er... I mentioned a relative of the diaper, the water diaper, which I hope gets a pass by the judge but I just couldn't let Tom go in a pool with a regular diaper... it's just not right!
Items: loaf of bread, loose change, diaper, syrup, kiddie pool

VERY WELL DONE!
XD That was a cute little short story and everything was used!!! It also had a tad bit of humor when you mentioned the syrup! I loved it!!! And everything works out, you used each object fine!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! ^^
The title doesn't seem to fit all that well, i mean it does its just that... It could have had a better title, but so could have a lot of things and so The won't influence my judging one bit!!! Its the words of the story I was looking for, not the title, but I thought I'd mention it....
