Adieu Ch. 6

"Pregnant? But wait how the hell is that possible?" Faye asked a bit upset that she had been left out of such important news. 1

"Well let's see..." Spike said as Faye hit him upside the head.2

"I didn't mean it like that dumbass." Faye said. "But since when? Why didn't she tell us?" Faye asked calming a bit as millions of questions began to run through her head.3

"Since three months ago and the hell if I know." Spike said and plopped down on the couch of the Bebeop. "Julia's always been like that. I can't read the woman's mind, and trying to get her to explain her reason behind not telling us is like asking a brick wall." He said.4

"She had to be like that because of the syndicate you two were in right?" Faye asked.5

"Bingo." Spike said and frowned some. 6

This new news, though it was good news posed a bit of a problem. For one how were they gonna feed four mouths and soon a fifth. Well Julia had that taken care of already, but still, she was pregnant and there was no way in hell he was letting her go out alone now. The only reason he let her up until now, was because he had taught her to use a gun and made sure she carried one in case something happened. Now it was different, she had another life growing in her body now, which put her in even more danger now. Damn this was a problem.7

"Well nothing we can do about it now but adjust." Jet said.8

"Yeah." Spike said and frowned some and walked off going down to his training room seeing the light on as he stopped.9

He peeked inside seeing Julia standing by the window, her back towards him, her golden blond hair shining in the light. Spike could only assume she had just had a shower. Of course, after that little cold trip to Neptune, anyone would need a shower to warm up.10

"Hey." He said seeing her jump and turn around bringing a hand to her chest. 11

"Oh its you spike...." Julia said softly and turned back around looking out at the emptiness that is space.12

Spike frowned some and walked inside leaving the door open as he went to her wrapping his arms around her, careful not to hold her to tightly. He knew it was in Julia's nature to be silent about things. But be silent that long about this? About her pregnancy, hers and Spike's child. Why? He'd have to get around to asking her that sometimes....but damn her, and her secrecy. Something this good should have been brought out sooner. 13

"Are you upset with me Spike?" She asked.14

"No...but why...why didn't you tell me sooner?" He asked.15

"Because..." she said.16

"Because?" Spike asked back.17

"Your a bounty hunter, if anyone were to find out you had a lover...and child on the way." She said drifting off. 18

"Still Julia. You shoulda told-" 19

"With that said....will I still be able to able to stay on this ship? I mean I know a baby will put a bit of a strain on all of us..." She said cutting him off.20

"I would never even think of taking you anywhere else and leaving you there." He said nuzzling her. 21

"Thank you Spike." She said softly and leaned against him laying her head in the crook of his neck.22

Three months would soon pass and time would find the bebop grounded on a small remote planet. The bounty they had been chasing had fled to this small planet so they followed as well, and decided they might as well enjoy the land life as well. The door to the bebop would soon open as Julia walked inside the bebop now six months pregnant as she walked into the kitchen and set the bags down. 23

"Mmm..." Julia winced at the particularly strong kick she felt in her rib section. 24

"I hope you didn't carry those in on your own Julia, you know your not supposed to be lifting things." Spike said walking in. 25

"Over at least 10 pounds Spike, don't worry its alright." She said kissing Spike. 26

"Still, you two alright?" He asked feeling her stomach smiling some at the movements inside Julia's stomach. 27

"She wants to play kick mommy. She's been like this all day." She said.28

"Better she do it now that way your not up late tonight....what's with the ribbon?" He asked seeing Julia's hair pulled up a white ribbon tieing it up.29

"I suddenly felt like doing this this morning, and its gonna be staying like this once the baby is born...Nnn...goodness that was a big kick."30

"Three more months left." Spike said hugging her. 31

"Yes." She said smiling. "Then I can hold her in my arms." Julia said leaning against spike.
