Shadow (Chapters one and two)

"Shadow lets go play," said nine year old Boy.  "Tag!  You're it!"  Boy ran around the backyard.  "Aww.. you got me!" he said.  2

Boy had no mother.  He believed his shadow was alive.  He believed that once you die, you reborn as a new person.  He was not afraid to die because of this.  He was called Boy because his father did not want to name him after his mother died when Boy was born.  So Boy was what he was called.  3

Boy had brown hair and bright green eyes.  Most people thought he was odd because he talked to his shadow.  Some people thought it was weird how he talked.  He always spoke in the same tone.  A high pitched tone.  Like as if he were four.  Boy was homeschooled because the other kids made fun of him.  The only friend he had was shadow.4

"Boy, it's time for supper!" his father called.  "Coming Daddy!" yelled Boy.  At the dinner table, Boy spoke, "Daddy?" he asked.  "yes?" answered his father.  "Who was Mommy?" asked Boy.  "Don't worry about it, she's long gone now,"said his father.  "No she is not.  She reborned as a new person.  That's what me and Shadow believe," said Boy.  "Boy, stop talking to your shadow all of the time!  It is not real!  Your mother is dead!  She's not coming back!  So STOP bringing this up!"  He yelled.  Boys father threw his plate to the ground, walked to his room and slammed the door.  Boy started to cry.  He went out the door and started running.  "See, Shadow?  We don't need him.  We can go find Mommy for ourselves." Boy said.   5

Ten minutes later Boy's father went out of the room.  "Boy, im so sorry I yelled at you-" he paused.  "Boy, where are you?  Boy?"  He looked at the open door to the backyard.  "Come back!"  he yelled outside.  6

Boy ran down to town asking every girl his age if they were his mother.  He had calculated that if his mommy died when he was born, she must have been reborned and had been his age by now.  "Are you my mommy?" he asked a girl.  "MOM!  This Boy is asking me if im his mommy!" said the girl to her mother.  "Hey, how did you know my name?" asked Boy.  The girl ignored him.  He asked another girl.  "You wish!"  She said.  He asked every girl he saw.  None of them were his mother.  "Maybe my mommy is in a different town, Shadow," he said.  So Boy set off to find a different town.  He went along the highways.  Many people stopped and asked him if he needed a ride home, but Boy just said, "When i find my mommy I am home." and walked on.8

He was walking for days when he ran into an old man.  "Well hello young child.  What is your name?  Do you not have a home?" said the old man.  "My name is Boy.  I have a home, but i will not return untill i find my mommy.  What is your name?" Boy replied.   "My name is Benjamin, but you can call me Ben." said the old man.  "Hello, Ben.  Are you looking for your mommy too?"  asked Boy.  "No, Boy.  I am here because I have no family or home."  Boy paused.  "Would you like to help me find my mommy?"  asked Boy.  "Yes," said the old man.  "Yes i would." 9
