My Obit

Born October 3, 1989, 18 year old Samantha Sanders died suddenly last night in her vacation home in the Santa Cruz Mountains after an earthquake struck nearby. Samantha had an interest in earthquakes from an early age and feel that Samantha would be satisfied with leaving the world this way.1

Samantha was in her second semester of college where she spent time doing homework and rewriting notes in different color pens. Outside of school she spent her time on the computer composing stories that very few people have read, if anyone knows any of her passwords they are encouraged to come forward as her family would enjoy reading this hidden piece of Samantha’s life.2

Asides from writing Samantha had an affinity towards reading and it’s only fitting that she died after her bookshelf fell over on her. Her family hopes that she finds peace where she is now and that she has lots of books to keep her company.3

Samantha had a very kind soul and was always willing to help her younger brother who suffered from severe autism. She always lent a helping hand when needed, unless it was the dishes in which case she always managed to find an excuse to get out of them.4

She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Sandra, her step-parents, Timothy and Linda and her four brothers and sisters, Spencer (17), Hanna (10), Caleb and Emily (both age 8) along with a multitude of cousins, uncles and aunts.5

Her funeral shall be held at Pearl Gates Funeral Home on 1653 Casket Way, she asks that you wear pink in some form. Samantha hated flowers and would appreciate that in lieu of flowers that donations are made to the autism charity of your choice.6

Author notes

So, I was at my vacation home in Santa Cruz and there was an earthquake. There's a bookshelf above my bed and at the time it had over one hundred books on it, I joked that it would really suck for the big one to hit at night because the entire shelf would come crashing down on me. Then I realized that it would be very fitting since I spend half my time reading anyway, books might as well be the death of me.

Interesting choice in death, and some truth behind it as well! Love how you want your funeral carried out, very sweet. Good job!
