I jumped in the car9

Gas Attendant: "I wonder what11
her problem was?"12
Store Clerk: "Something must have13
scared her off."14
Gas Attendant: "Maybe it was that guy15
that came in earlier."16
Store Clerk: "It might have been."17
Gas Attendant: "I've never seen him18
around here before."19
Store Clerk: "Me neither."20
The rain had calmed 21
down a bit.22
I was on the highway23
for about ten minutes,24
when I saw a dark figure25
walking on the side26
of the road.27
The dark figure turned around28
and stuck his thumb out.29
