PART: 12
The rain outside seemed to be continuous. This was now the third month that the rain had poured down on the small town of Natick. This ominous rain seemed to have all the town folk afraid except for a small man at the edge of the town, named Thomas.3
Thomas wasn't afraid, due to his knowledge of the rain’s origin. This knowledge came not from rumor, but from experience, for he had created the rain.4
"Thomas you need to quit playing these games!" Thomas' younger brother Jeremy exclaimed.5
"What are you talking about?" He asked.6
"This rain damn it, People are dying!"7
"This rain is only a small price to pay for the benefits I and the rest of humanity will reap; you know this Jeremy. Quit wasting my time with you feeble concerns."8
"Ugh I know Thomas, but there are lines and we're crossing them!"9
"Only for a bit, all will be well when the Titans arrive."10
"If they arrive! Who's to say they even exist?"11
"I do! Jeremy I told you I’m not sure how I know, but they will arrive and replenish this hell of a planet." Thomas started to yell but caught himself.12
Days went by and the rain still fell, the rain was not natural but had been created by a machine that Thomas had made his life work to create. Day in and out he would work on the machine he called the weather control machine. He had one purpose for it, to summon an ancient myth of power full beings known as the Titans who, when called upon, had the power to reseed a planet, with all its natural beauty and life.13
"I know how you feel about this Thomas but you have the power to stop this storm, but instead you let it continue so that enough blood will be shed to test a myth."14
"Yea, it sounds bad, but if it works I'll be saving millions!"15
"Well I hope your right...” Jeremy was interrupted by a loud crack. Suddenly the rain stopped. Thomas and Jeremy ran outside, there stood four Titans towering above them. The Titans were glorious figures that stood well over twenty five feet tall; they had human form and bodies that appeared to be made of stone.16
"It's them!" Thomas cried. He had only dreamed of this day which left only a faint hope that one day his dreams might actually come true.17
"I see it! I see it!" yelled Jeremy in amazement.18
Suddenly as if spoken by a crowd of people of them said "We have come to aid you. This planet has grown dry, much as plants do. Although this is sad we realize that all good things must come to an end, and we proudly take on the task of replenishing it under one circumstance."19
"Anything you want!" Thomas cried.20
"You must offer a sacrifice."21
"What do you mean? Thousands have died already!" Jeremy yelled in anger.22
"This is undoubtedly true but this next sacrifice must be by choice."23
"Ok, I'll go." Thomas said quickly.24
"What! No can't it's not worth it!"25
"I let others die for the good of the planet, there’s no reason I shouldn't suffer the same fate." Thomas said in a sad tone.26
“Why you though it doesn’t make sense. Without you we would have never gotten this far it’s the peoples turn to make the sacrifice.”27
“Human, you will someday learn that all things happen for a reason, and sometimes it’s just better not to ask questions.”28
"But it's not fare...” In that instance Thomas vanished with the Titans. Seconds later the earth came alive with plants and animals that had not been seen in decades, it was a beautiful sight, but all Jeremy could do was cry for the brother he lost, the brother he doubted, and the brother who insured his life.29
PART: 230
Hours later Thomas awoke in a daze, struggling to see Thomas's eyes were no longer any use to him.31
"Hello? Help me!" Thomas screamed in a panic. His body felt extremely weak here, it felt almost as if he had been reborn. 32
"Relax." Said the calm voice of the Titan, Thomas had heard earlier. ”My name is Aden; I will help you to understand if you’ll help me.”33
"Where am I?" Thomas cried "Am I dead?"34
"Are you dead? No." The Titan said."You have just been born."35
"I don't understand."36
"You have been chosen, by show of good character and devotion to human kind."37
"I’ve been Chosen? What do you want me to do?" Thomas cried.38
"To answer that it would be best to just show you."39
"Show me?" Thomas said. "I can't even see."40
"Ah yes, your eyes will do you no good down here. Look not with your eyes, but with your soul."41
"What do you...?” In that moment Thomas became aware of his surroundings, which seemed to be a church of some kind.42
"Are you ready?" Aden asked.43
"Yeah I think so, let's go." Upon leaving the church Thomas noticed they were in what looked like a cave. "Where are we?" He asked.44
"This is the core."45
"What do you mean the center of the earth?"46
"Not exactly the center of the earth." The Titan said."But close."47
"So where are we going any way?"48
"I'll explain when we arrive." They continued walking for what seemed like days. Thomas noticed he didn't get fatigued or tired anymore. As they walked Thomas’s sight became clear, the caverns in which they traveled were beautiful with thousands of Hughes. Thomas's attention was drawn to a body of what appeared to be water at the end of the cave. The small pool seemed to have him captivated.49
"What is that?" Thomas asked.50
"This is The Fountain of Destiny." Aden answered calmly. "Drinking From the fountain will reveal your ultimate destiny, in which you will have a task; once you complete this task you will ascend to you your heaven. Now that you know, you may drink." Quickly Thomas bent down and took a drink from the water.51
"What now? Nothing happened."52
"Come now you must rest." They began walking back to the cavern but this time Thomas noticed it only took a few moments.53
Upon entering the church Thomas had received odd looks from some of the other Titans as if they had seen a ghost. One of the other Titans bowed to Aden then asked. "Did he drink Aiden?"54
"He did." Aiden replied.”And now he must rest." Aiden said in a half depressed tone looking at Thomas, Thomas went to the bed where he had awaked before. He wasn't sure yet why he needed rest but he quickly fell asleep upon lying down. Hours later he awoke in incredible pain looking down in agony as the flesh fell from his bones. This continued for only a few minutes until all the flesh had been removed from Thomas's body. When it was through Thomas continued to lie in the bed crying in pain at the event that had just took place.55
A few hours later he was able to move enough to drape himself with a cloak that hung from the wall. He slowly made his way out the door where he was met by Aiden, who simply said. "Your weak you should return to bed." 56
Thomas was unable to reply so he just returned to his bed. Within the next few days he was able to move easier than before and talk with ease. Once he was able to talk well he asked Aiden. "What happened to me?" Thomas said with sorrow in his voice.57
"You’re fulfilling your ultimate destiny." Aiden replied in a calm voice.58
"Which is?"59
"To use your gift to send people to their heaven."60
"You mean you want me to kill people?" Thomas asked in discontent.61
"I don't want you to do anything, and you won't be killing anybody." Aiden said.62
"Then what exactly will I be doing?"63
"Your job is simple, but of the up most importance thousands of people die every day, your job is to use your power to guide them to their heaven."64
"So do I just do it until they all die or what?"65
"No you will run out of power long before then. When you run out of power we are able to return to the surface then a successor is chosen for you. As for you, when it is time for us to reseed you use your remaining power to send yourself to heaven."66
"What happens to the souls that I don't send to heaven?"67
"Ah yes well I'm sure you've heard of hell." Aiden said sadly.68
"Well in that case I guess I'll leave now."69
"Yes you should, but before you go make sure you choose wisely you can only send so many." Within seconds Thomas was gone, doing the work he apparently was born to do.70
PART: 371
Thomas took pride in what he was doing but couldn't help but think of it as taking someone’s life. With every touch Thomas became completely in sync with the persons soul and felt their plain, their pleasure, and their hate, for awhile it made him weak and depressed. Eventually this made him strong he was still empathetic but unaffected by these emotions. 72
During his everyday workings Thomas became increasingly aware of a woman named Tessa this is all he knew about her but if there was such a thing as true love, he found it in her. He would find himself following her watching what she did noticing the patterns in her every day errands. Thomas had indeed found his true love. Sadly he knew what he was condemned to and that she couldn’t even see him.73
There were days when Thomas could have sworn that she noticed him. But deep down he knew that this was only his mind teasing him of the idea that one day he could have a real life. This brought on a great depression to his life. He always thought loneliness kills, eternal loneliness, is the true definition of hell.74
During the next few months Thomas accompanied her in her daily errands shadowing her every move. Thomas felt like he honestly had a real connection with her, but deep down he died a little knowing that this could never be true.75
Often Thomas would go to a local restaurant where he knew Tessa would be just to see her. After a while he noticed her absence this made him curious until he discovered her wondering soul. He knew they never had anything real but this still made him sad in ways that he couldn’t believe.76
PART: 477
In what seemed like no time Thomas's tenth year came so he asked Aiden. "How much longer will I have to do this?"78
"You grow weak now but in time you will know when you only have one more soul to save left." Thomas continued what he had grown accustom to until one day he noticed a drastic increase in the number of wondering souls. "Where are all these souls coming from?" He asked Aiden.79
"There are rumors saying somebody is seeking conference with the Titans by speeding up the seeding process, much as you did."80
"Jeremy!" Thomas said in horror.81
"You seem worried, we'll just go and reseed." Aiden seemed confident.82
"No something’s wrong I can't even keep up with it, I'm afraid that reseeding would be pointless."83
"Then go, save the ones you can and when you’re done we'll all ascend together." Thomas quickly left and within days saved billions until he knew he was done, on his way back to the church he felt one more die, but this one was different from all the others it was his brother Jeremy. Instantly Thomas turned back and saved his brother from what he knew would be hell.84
PART: 585
For days Thomas roamed the world and began to be more aware of fatigue and hunger. Thomas wasn’t sure what he would do or how he could ever get out of this horrible situation alive. He had continued to walk until he collapsed. He later awoke in the church again at his side was Aden who seemed to be bleeding. “A human life is not an easy one to revive.” He said in a weak voice. Thomas tried to speak to thank him but found him too weak to say anything.86
Later when Thomas was able to speak again he asked Aden “What is the point of us being here if all the humans are dead?”87
“I suppose that in life there comes a time when you have to go outside of what others think is right or wrong.” Aden answered88
“What do you mean by that?”89
“We Titans have decided that this will not be the end, and that too many innocent lives have been lost.”90
“I didn’t think that there was anything that we could do to stop that.”91
“There isn’t but it is in our greatest intentions to change that. But first we must train.”92
For the next few months all Thomas and the Titans did was train day in and out. Thomas found that his hand was no longer kind to life and hand became black and was now able to take lives with a single touch. At first Thomas was terrified by this curse but had come to the realization that he didn’t actually know what they were up agents.93
Eventually years had gone by still training with still no mention of what they were up against. Thomas had begun to realize the amazing strength of the Titans and what they were capable of. This should have comforted him but it only increased his fear when he saw them afraid.94
“The time has come.”Aiden said. “A new dawn for Titans and humans alike has arrived. Today we will punish those who have trespassed and set boundaries to our way of life. Thomas.” 95
“Yes?”96
“If you would please kill us, we would like to go to hell now, and take back what has been stolen from our planet.” Thomas couldn’t believe what he was hearing; do they actually plan to go destroy hell?”97
“Thomas, pleas we don’t have much time.”98
“Alright.” He replied, and with one touch, he killed all his friends and himself.99
Instantly upon death he felt like he had been torn apart thousand times and put back together, the pain was indescribable; all Thomas could do was allow it to happen. After what felt like days Thomas fell into what appeared to be hell, screaming in pain next to his Titan companions who were to his surprise doing the same.100
Suddenly he heard an ominous laughter which turned into thousands of voices screaming “Welcome Titans, the dawning you seek will only be a bloodbath of you demise, there will be no turning back now. You are dead. Coming here was the worst possible decision you could have ever made, because you see, here, the people you seek to save, are owned by me.”101
“You are mistaken Lucifer we have come to win, and we will.” With those words Thomas began fighting side by side with the titans who fought with nothing but their fist and anything they were able to pick up. Thomas obviously was not as strong as the Titans or the demons they faced but with his fatal touch he managed to stay alive.102
While fighting Thomas came across a demon unlike the others, in physical appearance as well as his demonic power. Upon touching the demon Thomas could feel the demons evil creep into his soul but still the demon died from Thomas’s touch. Thomas had never felt such power before and begun killing mass amounts of demons at a time with just the thought.103
“What’s happening to me?” Thomas asked Aden in fear of what his answer might be.104
“You have killed the arch angel; do not fear the power you have obtained, although corrupting it can be.”105
“Alright, thanks.” Although Thomas said this with confidence he felt it only made him more afraid of what he was capable of. Distracted by thought Thomas had not noticed the demon approaching him wielding a sharp blade. The demon lunged towards Thomas, with the blade only inches away from his head Thomas turned and grabbed the blade with his hands. 106
Instantaneously upon grabbing the blade Thomas tore the demons head from his shoulders dropping him to the ground. Suddenly Thomas had noticed the room begin to turn red like that of blood. It wasn’t until later that he discovered that this was his doing. He could see the fear in his enemy’s eyes as they were torn apart by their own power.107
“You will pay with you lives.” Lucifer said as his minions were destroyed108
“I already have.” Thomas said in a dead voice as he raced toward the horrifying daemon known only as the devil here. Thomas lunged at him with only the instinct to kill; he began to tear at the daemons chest ignoring the powerful blows being returned by the demon. In seconds Thomas had torn through the demons chest, revealing the demons heart. “Good bye Lucifer.” Thomas said as he touched the heart of the prince of darkness, ending his reign as the ruler of hell.109
Upon Lucifer’s death the demons they were fighting only moments earlier had returned to the surface to live as humans once again.110
“We did it.” Aiden said. “You did it.” 111
“I’m just fulfilling destiny right?”112
“No my friend you’re not, you’re above destiny.” Aiden said in a half depressed tone.113
“What’s wrong?”114
“There are still matters that need attention.”115
“Like what?”116
“Although we have saved the souls of all these people there still remains the matter of who will be the new ruler of hell.”117
“You want me to do it, don’t you?”118
“No, I would never ask that, although I strongly believe that the only ruler suited for this position is one who is immune to the stress and temptations it contains. This is why I do not feel that the person in charge should be so wicked as to deserve his place in hell.”119
“So what should we do then?”120
“You’ve been in close contact with the souls of many humans, you know them, choose one that won’t take the task lightly.” It was at this time that Thomas had wished that he could choose Jeremy due to his knowledge of fine ruler ship skills. When Thomas and Jeremy were younger Jeremy had decided to join the Army and had eventually become a sergeant, until he discharged for being “mentally unfit”.121
The days grew long as Thomas searched the earth for someone he knew could handle the task until one day he had came across a wondering soul whose aura could light a small street. After paying some noticed to the soul Thomas had recognized it as the soul of a baby. Knowing the pure intentions of the soul Thomas knew that a soul such as this would be the only fit for what he needed it for.122
PART 6:123
Once selecting the new ruler for hell Thomas noticed a light headed feeling come about him until he could see nothing but white completely surrounding him.124
“You have achieved your goals.” I said.125
“What goals.”126
“You have fulfilled your destiny.”127
“What happens now?”128
“That is completely up to you, I no longer have control over what you do, and it’s true I am your creator, your god, but you have done what you were truly created to do. Now choose would you like to stay here in heaven, or return to the earth as a baby once more.”129
“It's beautiful here, it truly is, but I belong there.” With that Thomas vanished and was reborn again to peruse destiny once more.130
When Thomas vanished Aiden appeared. 131
“Do you wish to stay or return, Aiden?”132
“What did he choose?’133
“Once again Thomas has chosen to find his destiny and possibly save mankind once again.”134
“Then of course you know my decision?” with that Aiden returned to earth to continue on as a Titan hoping that one day he will again have the chance to see his friend change the world like he had done so many times before.135

Wow! I liked that this tackled concepts that were as big as some of the characters, and the writing style struck me as somewhat biblical in an interesting way. There were grammar problems are easy enough to fix, like "power full"->powerful, and "It's not fare"->fare, "up most"->upmost, and a few you/your/you're items. I found the story to be so abstract that it didn't really grab me and pull me into the action with its descriptions, and the visuals didn't really come through for me, and with a piece of this length I think those are important things to keep the reader engaged. I had a hard time picturing the events, like the flesh fell from his bones... Thomas continued to lie in the bed crying in pain", I had a difficult time picturing a naked skeleton crying? For example, with "the earth came alive with plants and animals that had not been seen in decades, it was a beautiful sight" I felt there could have been more showing through description of how this actively occurred. There is a lot of potential here to expand if you want, a wonderfully creative idea here. Thanks for this entry!
