My Guardian Angel

A lot of people talk about their Guardian Angel being someone who has died, and for some reason or other, they've chosen to watch over a specific person. However, I have found my Guardian Angel right here, on Earth.1

My Guardian Angel's name is Bek. She is the most wonderful, loving, caring person I have ever met, and I can't imagine life without her.2

I met her nearly a year ago now. In fact, it will be a year on the 26th April, which, coincidentally, is her birthday. It is the one day which I think there was a God for me, even just for a moment. 3

There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not thankful for every minute I spend with her. She brought me out of the dark that was threatening to fully consume me, and helped me put my life back on track. She has given me new reason to live, and new hope for my future. A future with her. A future of loving her dearly, and being loved by her in return.4

We have a fairly great distance that stands between us, but I barely feel that when I'm talking to her; laughing with her, and just being able to say how much I love her. Although I feel so empty without her by my side, she is always in my heart, and is always there for me, when I need her.5

There are times when I just want to tear my hair out, just because I can't be with her physically, but then I always calm down. She always has such a calming effect on me, and is able to bring out the best in me. Although, sometimes, we have our bad moments. But then, that's natural for any couple. There aren't always the good times, and you just have to work through that.6

I can never really describe how I feel. There just don't seem to be words to describe it. I write poems for her, sing songs, and tell her straight out that I love her, but it never seems enough. But I keep going, keep trying to pour my heart out, even though I know it would take longer than my time on this Earth.7

So, I have found my real life Guardian Angel. She shields me with her love, and I could never thank her enough, and describe how much I love her, with the limited words available.8

When you find your Guardian Angel, or your Soul Mate, or the partner that you never want to be without; whatever you would like to call them. Never let them go. Never pass up the opportunity to tell them you love them. Never let them walk away from you angry, or sad. Even though they're your Guardian Angel, just remember, you're theirs too.

Author notes

This is for my Guardian Angel, Bek. The love of my life, my absolute everything.

Aw, that ending was lovely: "just remember, you're theirs too." It got me grinning ear to ear, in that sappy way. Hmm, feedback, well, the grammar was slightly off a couple times - I wasn't certain if that was on purpose or not, though. Example:

"When you find your Guardian Angel, or your Soul Mate, or the partner that you never want to be without; whatever you would like to call them. Never let them go."

Technically, the first sentence's a fragment, and would grammatically be better off combined with the next one. Maybe

"When you find your Guardian Angel, your Soul Mate, the partner that you never want to be without (whatever you'll call them!), never let them go."

    Or

"When you find your Guardian Angel, or Soul Mate, or partner - whatever you would like to call them - never let them go."

still, those are just my own stylistic opinions, and well, not for everyone!

Another thought that came to me as I reread this was that yes, you're telling me about the relationship, but as a reader, I'd be even more pulled in if I had some specific examples, some imagery, something for my imagination to grab and to put me into your place. I wanna fall in love with your Guardian Angel too! (At least while I read this)

Still this was lovely, and I'm glad I wandered over to take a look.

    Cheers for the read!

    It was ok...jk

This is great. For some reason, I kept thinking that your angel was your dog or something, though. Lol. I know that isn't true, but it would still have been lovely if it was. Dogs are lovely. And so is the wonderful story. Good luck in the contest!

Wow, this is really powerful and emotive. I enjoyed how you described it and how much you showed your love for her.

It showed how much passion you have for her and that's a wonderful thing. I really enjoyed reading this.

Yes I know it's about me... I'm trying to be critical here.

    Love you, baby.
