Naruto's death and Sakura's sorrow

Standing in a misty, warm, patch of trees, a girl stared out in the distance waiting to see some one. Her face was stern with her soft pink hair blowing softly in the wind. She held her ground strongly and had her guard up 100 percent. She held a kunai in her left hand, not moving a muscle. Out in these woods, there was no telling what could attack. Her red dress swayed in the wind, and then suddenly she heard something behind her. She wanted to yell 'who's there!?', but she decided to keep quiet. The girl turned around swiftly and then standing tall again she looked around to see nothing but trees and ferns. 1

"Sakura!!! Sakura-chan! I got the food!!!" She heard her teammate’s voice screaming behind her rashly. 2

"Shhh!!!Baka!" She turned around at a blonde hair boy running with boxed lunches in his hands, and hissed. The boy stopped in his tracks and was confused. She waved her hand back urgently signaling him to go away. The boy didn't get it and just stood there dumbfounded. She turned around sharply to give him an evil glare. The boy ran away quickly and left the box lunches there. Sakura sighed and looked around again.3

"Sakura-chan..." She heard a semi-deep voice from right behind her. She turned around to face a raven haired boy. She gasped and her cheeks turned a slight pink, just enough to blend in with her hair. For the first time the boy smiled at her.4

"Sasuke-kun?" She whispered. The boy walked 2 feet past her and looked around.5

"Let's go some where better" The raven haired boy turned around and headed toward the box lunches.6

"Oh... r-right." Sakura quickly followed.7

"Were these for us? Why were they in the dirt...?” He held up the box lunches to her face.8

"Oh... those were-"9

"Well I haven't had a meal in a few days, so this should be fine." The boy was already heading out the woods. Sakura was looking down then realized he was gone. She looked up and reached out her hand jogging to catch up to him. This was the first time Sasuke had ever directly talked with her alone. She smiled slightly to herself after thinking that. Sakura always loved this mysterious boy, but she never knew if he knew she existed... or if he even cared. Sakura was glad he was even talking to her. They walked into a beautiful scene where there were cherry blossom trees every where and pedals falling like soft, white, snow. Sakura looked around and smiled. This was the perfect place for a romantic picnic. It was warm and it filled her bussom with joy. The raven haired boy, Sasuke was setting up a place to eat while sakura was looking at the trees. Sasuke sat down in some green grass and laid down the box lunches, opened them, then looked at Sakura. Sakura looked over at the boy she loved and saw him looking at her. She faced away and blushed imagining what might happen this afternoon.10

"I wonder if he will kiss me this afternoon..." She whispered to her self. She felt Sasuke's eyes on her back, so she turned around and started to head towards him. Sasuke watched her carefully trying to hide the pain behind a smile. She sat own across from Sasuke and picked up a box lunch. Sasuke picked his up also and stuffed his mouth with an egg. Sakura carefully picked up a ball of rice and munched on it. Suddenly there was a faint nose behind a tree. It sounded discussing but both Sasuke and Sakura ignored it. Suddenly they both smelled a horrible smell. They both looked up at each other about to barf. Sasuke fell over coughing while Sakura covered her nose screaming. Sasuke spotted something behind the tree. Trying to calm his coughing fits down, he threw a kunai at the tree.11

"DATTEBAYOO!!!!" The blonde hair boy, Naruto, ran out from behind the tree. He stopped and looked at sakura covering her nose, then at Sasuke, then at the box lunches. He felt so rejected by Sakura. "Sakura-chan...."12

"Oh, it's the idiot." Sasuke mumbled.13

"KYYAAAA!!" Sakura screamed when she found out that is was Naruto who made that horrible stench. "GET OUT YOU IDIOT!" Her face was sinister and she got up cracking her knuckles.14

"Ahhh!" Naruto fled to save his life. Sakura sat back down and sighed again. Sasuke had already finished his box lunch, and got up. Sakura looked at Sasuke standing up holding a backpack in his hands. 15

“Sasuke-K-“16

“Sakura. Forget my existence. I’m leaving this place. Don’t tell any one either.” The boy flipped the backpack on his back and turned around. The girl stuttered trying to control her self. She couldn’t take in what the raven haired boy just said. 17

“No! You can’t go…!” The girls voice echoed through the empty park. The silence was left there for about five minuets.18

“I have to. I only tell you this now… because it’s better a clean break other than long suffering. Plus it would have been troublesome for me to hear such a long line of complaining.”19

“B-but… Sasuke I love you!” She wrapped her arms around him, while salty, warm tears streamed down her soft face.20

“I know. Thank you… I’m sorry.” The boy disappeared with in the blink of an eye.21

“Sa-su-ke-kun…” She whispered and felt her self collapse in tears. Her world suddenly went black and cold.22

“Sakura-chan! Sakura-chan!” The girls shoulder was being jerked around by the blonde haired boy. “Sakura wake up! Sakura!” She felt tears drip on her face, then she opened her eyes. “Sakura!” The boy hugged her tightly.23

“Naruto…”24

“Do you have my ramen? I think I lost it around here.” The boy looked around franticly for his package of ramen. Sakura let out a low growl and hit Naruto in the head. “Ow!” Naruto pulled back from her and held his head. 25

“Hmph!” Suddenly Sakura just remembered what happened before she blacked out. Her face went blank and expressionless and her body went numb. She fought her tears and feelings back. Her lips trembled and her eyes stared in the distance trying to find something to distract her. She got up slowly and started to walk towards where he disappeared, dazed. Her body could barely stand. Naruto watched her with worried eyes.26

“Sakura?” Naruto got up and stood there watching her. Her body wobbled and toppled from side to side as her depression got worse. She wanted her beloved Sasuke back. She never thought it would be so much pain. Suddenly her foot slipped and her limp body fell towards the hard ground. “Sakura!” Naruto ran up and caught her in his arms. “Are you okay? Sakura? Sakura?”27

“N-Naruto, bring him back.” Her eyes shut as Naruto watched her face in gloom.28

“Who Sakura?” He lifted his head suddenly to a noise in the distance. Four water ninja invaded the area and surrounded them.29

“Hehehehe… look what we have here. A bunch of genin brats.” Naruto glared still holding Sakura. 30

“Come on Sakura, now’s not the time to sleep…” Naruto sat her up and jumped out in defense.31

“Come close to her and you die. Believe it!” The water ninja chuckled. The leader of the invasion group set his hand out with a paper bomb in his hand. The rest of the group ran around Naruto and Sakura rapidly. “I’m warning you!”32

“Naruto you don’t have to… protect some one as useless as me.” Sakura found her self grabbing a kunai out of her ninja tools pouch. She held the kunai up to her throat.33

“What are you doing sto-“ Naruto got hit in the face by one of the water ninja’s and passed out. Sakura put her hand down and looked at the invaders surrounding her. One of them took Naruto and tied him up in a chakra drainer.34

“Should we just leave her to kill her self or should we kill her?” The leader asked.35

“ Heh… boss I think we should leave her so we don’t get blamed for murder of innocent. We have reason for this brat.” The ninja patted Naruto on the back.36

“Let go of me!” Naruto woke up and got shocked by the chakra drainer because his power was so strong all of the sudden. Naruto’s eyes glowed bright red in anger. He was once again shocked and he passed out.37

“Little brat!” The ninja grinded his teeth in fear, he could feel the dense power only growing stronger. He dropped the boy on his head, cracking his neck.38

“NARUTO!!” Sakura screamed. She put her head to the ground and held the kunai pointing to her throat still.39

“Come on let’s go, and leave the boy.” The whole squad ran away.40

“Naruto…” Sakura crawled over to her beloved friend and teammate. She looked at his face, burned and bleeding. She fell over crying and screaming. “I’m weak, I can’t stop anything… what’s the point of me existing!?”41

A boy in the distance heard her cry. He ran swiftly towards her voice, concerned. He caught her hand right as she was going to stab her self. Her eyes flashed open in surprise to see a friend’s teammate, Shikamaru. Her tears dropped in her lap. The boy’s hand was slightly cut, but it didn’t matter since he just saved the girls life.42

“Shikamaru?” A girl with purple hair was running quickly after him.43

“Over here… what are you trying to do or prove Sakura?” He held his hand there waiting for her to drop it.44

“I’m so useless!” Her sobs got louder as the girl got to Shikamaru’s side.45

“Naruto-kun!” The purple haired girl hugged Naruto and cried also. Shikamaru looked over to Naruto and let go of Sakura’s hand. They all wept, while Sakura looked down to her kunai and attempted the same stunt again. This time the girl hugged her.46

“No! You mustn’t! Just because… you couldn’t protect a teammate doesn’t mean you should waste your life. This only means you need to get stronger and you can promise on him that you will.” 47

“Hinata… I have no team. I let them all leave me… I don’t deserve to be with any one else.” The purple haired girl, Hinata, let go of her and stood back crying. Shikamaru hugged Hinata tightly trying to calm her. Sakura started to walk off trying to pull off the stunt else where, where no one was watching. The raven haired boy’s silent, soft, and strait face haunted her mind. She had no idea where he was going, all she knew is she wanted him back. Sakura looked back and Shikamaru was still there with Hinata mourning over Naruto. She cried and screamed trying to suppress the pain. Naruto always had something inside him that would keep him alive… the girl thought. He could still be alive! Sakura ran to Naruto screaming. Hinata and Shikamaru looked up concerned. Sakura ignored them and picked up Naruto shaking him.48

“Naruto wake up! NARUTO! I know you’re alive! Wake up!! Please… PLEASE!! Naruto!! NARUTO!!! PLEASE!!!” She shook him violently, screaming.49

“Sakura, cut it out!” Shikamaru pried Sakura’s hand from Naruto’s body. Sakura fell over crying, thinking of her raven haired boy. 50

“Just end my life…” The skies turned grey and as they sat there for hours it started to rain.51

Naruto's funeral. Sakura never thought it would come so soon. Every one said their testimonies. The hokage spoke to every one and told him what a wonderful boy he was. Sakura laid a flower down next to his picture, and took her place back in the crowd. She was alone. She had not heard from her Sensei in the hospital for weeks. Her teammates were gone, but she never thought of making any friends.52

Sakura sat alone in her home, remembering that her mom was supposed to have returned home yesterday. Her parents were recently divorced. Sakura was worried about her mother, she didn’t even leave a note.53

There was a knock at the door. Sakura opened it to see Hinata. Her eyes were red and her face was wet.54

“Is there something wrong?” Sakura asked.55

“C-can… I come in?” Hinata spoke softly under her sobs.56

“Of course.”They both walked in and sat down on a couch. Sakura looked at Hinata with concerned eyes. “So what’s wrong?” Hinata flung her arms around Sakura and cried.57

“My family was abducted…. And I was spared. I’m also sad because of Naruto.” That last phrase cut Sakura deep. Sakura hugged her back and cried also.58

“I will take you in my arms… I’m lonely… no teammates and my parents have not come home for days.” Sakura hugged Hinata tighter. Immediately she felt a strong bond between them two.59

“Thank you. I was close to killing myself also, sister.”60
