Messing with the wrong person

The school was hustling and bustling with people. People knocked into Fredina Smith like she wasn't even there. She was tired of getting her shoes stepped on all the time. Nobody ever noticed that she was there. Fredina was the most boring girl in school. She had plain brown hair that came down a little bit below her ears. Her eyes were a very dark brown. She was just a medium height. Everything about her was pretty much average. She didn't have glasses, she didn't belong to any clubs. She just got Cs in every class she took. Nothing she did ever made her stand out. So everyone treated her like she was invisible, and she was tired of it. She had to do something to make herself known in this school somehow!1

Fredina started over to the library, hoping to find a dummy's guide to being popular or something like that. It seems they had a dummies guide to everything now a days. She flipped through the books not finding anything like that. Sure there had to be some sort of book how to make yourself known in the world. The thing about books is they seemed to be read by a lot of people who didn't seem to be noticed by anyone else. Maybe the people who wrote books just didn't know about the subject or something? She searched the whole library it seemed and she couldn't find anything close to what she wanted. She was just about to give up when a book conked her on the head.2

"Ow! What's this? Eldor's big book of magic? They have got to be kidding. This can't be real. I think they meant to put this in the fiction section or something." She was talking to herself, which was a bad habit of hers. Everyone in the library started to give her nasty looks and started to hush her. She started to bring the book over to a table, she couldn't help feeling rather curious of the book. She opened it, blowing the dust off the corner. It seemed like this book hadn't been read in a long time. She started to scan over the words printed on the page.3

Hello there, and welcome to Eldor's big book of magic. If you have found this book you are an exceptional person indeed!4

Fredina groaned when she read the first line of the book, it seemed like they didn't know anything about her at all. She was so boring, she didn't have any friends. She was about to give up on the book until she read the second sentence of the book.5

I know what you are thinking, how can I be an exceptional person? In fact most people had ignored me all my life. Well you see, usually the people who are most ignored have the most magic. Who is going to expect a plain boring person to be a wizard after all.6

The rest of the book had instructions on how to do spells, mostly about using certain things you find in your kitchen and chanting words in order to make things happen. Fredina had a hard time believing that this book was actually real, until she tried out one of the spells on one of the most popular girls in school. And when she did it, boy she was sorry she ever tried it.7

She read over the spells, trying to think of which one to try first. The one that seemed to be most simple was the one to make things move around. She was in her science class and everything that she needed was at hand. She waited until the teacher was busy trying to explain something she couldn't understand to gather up all the ingredients. She picked up a little bottle to mix them up in. You would think one of her classmates would tattle on her, but her ability to blend in the background was working on the other students. They seemed to be busy paying attention to the instructor no matter how boring the lecture was. She started to stir up the things in the tube, looking around for something to move. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that the blond cheerleader Charity Watson's pants seemed to be precariously edging down her legs. How funny would it be if she sort of coaxed them to go a little bit further. She would certianly get attention from everyone if she pantsed the most popular girl in public.8

Fredina started to whisper the chant under her breath. Energy that is around me, energy in the air. Energy that has found me. Move these pants that I see. Lower and lower until they reach the ground. She stirred the liquid in the beaker, watching the popular girls pants carefully. She really didn't expect it to work. But the liquid burst into flames. Though people usually didn't notice her, they certianly noticed that. The teacher looked at Fredina, tapping his foot sternly.9

"What do you think you are doing Fredina, you shouldn't be mixing dangerous chemicals when the other students are trying to learn!"10

She meekly spoke to the teacher, with a squeak in her voice. "I wasn't trying to mix chemicals. What was in that beaker was just ordinary household products. I was trying to do a spell." With that, all the class started to laugh.11

One of the students in the class piped up. "And just what were you trying to do?"12

"Um, none of your concern..." Fredina said, sounding nervous. If Charity found out what she was trying to do. Who knew what the girl would do to her. She was already feeling regretful for trying to use that spell on her. But so far it was working on getting her attention, but it wasn't the sort of attention she wanted.13

Charity stood up from her seat, pointing over at her. "That girl is so pathetic she can't do anything! There's nothing special about her. So she made some stuff in a beaker explode. That is no reason to get all excited about. We should just go back to..." Her sentence trailed off as her pants started to fall to the floor. Her cute little ducky underwear was on display for all. Charity's face started to grow red with rage, taking out what seemed to be a cape from out of her backpack. She whisked it in front of her, and now she was wearing well...what could only be described as a sorceresses outfit.14

"I should of known you were a wizard. Everyone who looks like you seems to be one. I will teach you to mess with me!"15

Charity moved her hands, and a searing pain started to go throughout Fredina's body. Fredina started to scream, feeling her body start to get smaller and smaller and...rather furry. What had happened to her?She tried to speak, but only a bark came out. Did Charity turn her into a dog? The other students were looking at her. The teacher was acting like stuff like this happened everyday, staring at Charity.16

"You mind returning my student to her human body?" The other students were whispering to each other, not too sure how to react to what just happened. Stuff like magic had never happened around them before. How did the magic users keep it secret for so long?17

"Yes Mr. Pennenson." Charity said regretfully, then waved her hands at Fredina, sending another painful shot of electricity at Fredina. Charity was trying to make the transformation as unpleasant as possible so slowly Fredina started to stand on her hind legs, and her body started to look a whole heck of a lot like a weredog might. When the teacher wasn't looking Charity hissed at her."This isn't the end wizard. I will have my eye on you. Nobody humiliates Charity Watson and gets away with it."18

She whipped the robe off, her outfit turning back to the pants she was wearing before (with her pants up of course) and sat down at her desk, pretending to make notes.19

Fredina was nervous, she went from being plain to having the most popular girl in the school hating her, what was she going to do? 20

After class, someone came up to Fredina, it was someone who she hadn't noticed before.21

"That was some trick you played on Charity, I would sure like to learn some magic and be able to play tricks on the popular people"22

"I don't think that is a good idea, they might have magic like Charity does."23

"What is the chance all the pretty people have magic? Oh by the way my name is Jane. You probably never noticed me before. It seems nobody does."24

"Hi Jane. You might be right, what are the chances that all the pretty people have magic? Maybe all us plain people should go up agianst them. I mean there are a whole lot more plain people than pretty people."25

Soon Fredina was gathering all the plain people she knew into an army. They called themselves Fredina's army after the girl they started it up. They studied the book of Eldor, being careful to practice spells on things, not people. They became all skilled enough to pull a very nasty prank on all the popular people. But the first one they decided to do so on was Charity. Ever since the whole pantsing incident she had been picking on Fredina and doing horrible things to her. Everyone in the army thought that Charity was really overreacting to a simple gag.26

"We have to do something really nasty to her, but...what?" Said Fredina, tapping her chin.27

"Well why don't we turn her to a frog, I know she would hate that!" burst out one of the boys in the group.28

"No, turning people into frogs is too expected , we need something better to get back at her. Think, this girl has been pestering me for months for one trick I played on her"29

The whole group started to look at each other, none of them could think of anything to do.30

One girl raised her hand. "Oh, Oh I have an idea, have her switch places with one of the nerdiest boys in school! Then she would know how it feels to be picked on!"31

"That is perfect!" Fredina looked in the book. "It is a complicated spell but we can do it together!"32

They all started to gather ingredients and started to stir it up in a big pot, the group kind of felt like witches doing this.33

The next day was a very confusing day for both the nerd and Charity.34

"This morning I woke up, and I had boobs!" The nerd said to his nerdy friends.35

"Wow, Charity is talking to me. What did I do to have her talk to me. This must be my lucky day. How about a kiss Charity?" one of the nerdy guys puckered up his lips at his friend.36

"Ugh, I am not going to kiss you Rick. It is me Ben. I only look like Charity" 37

Rick blinked at his friend. "Ben is that really you?"38

Somewhere nearby the real Charity was rampaging. "I will get Fredina and her gang for doing this to me!"39

One of the nerdy friends of Ben watched what he thought was his friend storming down the hall. "What has got you so mad Ben?"40

"I am not Ben! I am Charity! Get out of my way nerd!" Charity pushed him out of the way.41

The boy was knocked back, and pushed his glasses up his nose. "What sort of weird fantasy you got going Ben, that is no reason to be rude."42

Though she was already gone by the point he said that. Now she was in front of Fredina. "I know you did this to me, and your going to pay for it once I get my body back."43

"Maybe I will just keep you that way" Fredina said coolly.44

"You could, but that really wouldn't be fair to Ben. You have to turn me back sooner or later."45

Fredina guessed she had a point, he couldn't keep Ben as Charity forever. What was she going to do when she got changed back? Certainly Charity would keep on bothering her with spells. Why didn't she think instead of just acting. If she had done that she wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.After having Ben pester her several times to turn him back to himself, she relented and switched them back to their normal selves. Charity came to her, staring her in the face.46

"Turning you into a dog was just the beginning, now you will really hurt!"47

There was a ripping noise, and part of Fredina's side had a gaping hole in it. Blood was everywhere! She got sent to the nurse, and also had to go to the hospital to get stitches. Things were getting rather serious here. Fredina knew that Charity had to pay for the things she was doing to her, but every time she did a spell on Charity, she did some sort of nasty spell back. It was a never ending cycle.48

One day a man with a beard appeared in front of both Charity and Fredina, looking at them seriously. 49

"I swear, you two are acting like children. I see your not mature enough to have any power Charity, so I am going to have to take it away."50

Charity howled. "Noooo..why don't you take it away from Fredina, she is just being as bad as me."51

"I cannot take away power from someone who has learned how to do magic from a book. Sorry it is going to have to be you."52

From that day forth, Charity couldn't do any tricks with her magic. But she did plenty of ordinary tricks.53

Fredina finally got back at Charity by having her lose her powers.54
