Blake runs outside. Calling out for the woman. Who stops to turn around. Annoyed, but still wanting in many ways. He asks her if they can have another chance. That he will take her there right now and give her what she wants. She tells him that's just it. He is not what she wants. She explains that he is a mummy's boy even if he doesn't like to think it; and while he might have been great she didn't know what she was thinking associating with these kinda of people. BLAKE5

Pushes his way outside the door into the fresh air.
Takes a deep breath, seeing the woman standing on the side of the pavement.
Her hand extended, hailing a taxi.
Running forward, he pushed his way past the people walking through the street.
Calling for her.6

HAY... HAY WAIT
DON'T MOVE
Don't leave.

WOMAN
7

Hears Blake's voice.
Turns around, watching his running awkwardly towards her.
Turns around pretending not to notice him, as she steps a little onto the street.8

BLAKE9

Catches up to her.
Stops right in front of her.
Grasping his chest for air.10

Please... wheezes
Don't leave
Hear me out Please, That is all I am asking for you to do.
Just hear me out.

WOMAN
11

Turns to face Blake
Puts her hand on her hips.
Sighs
Looks at her watch.12

13

I really Do not have time for this.
I can't even be seen with people like you.
Have you any idea what this could do to my reputation if someone saw me?
It could cost my whole family there reputation.14

BLAKE15

Stops gasping
Still with his hand on his chest.
Looks at her slightly offended.
Moves closer, towards her; wanting to feel her warmth.16

People like me?
What the hell is that suppose to mean?
Please can you give this a try?
I promise you I can show you a good time, it we just leave now I can take you to that alley way. I will screw you like you have never been screwed before.17

Frowns18

WOMAN19

Shakes her head.
Holding her hand to her left temple
Her right arm still extended as cars pass by20

You really Just don't get it do you?
Your a common person, poor, scruffy looking, dirty.
You are the perfect man for me in a lot of ways.
But you are more of an escape than a love.
More than a fling than the real thing.
I have been with men like you, Mummy's boys.
I can tell you know I can spot one a mile away.
Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with loving your mum, but I personally do not want to be in an alley way, having the the time of my life; just so you can scream your mothers name and ruin the whole thing.
The moment has come and passed, and quite frankly I can't handle being around this part of town anymore.21

BLAKE22

Tears swelling up in his eyes.
Looks her deeply in the eyes - her words appear to Peirce through him like a knife.
He bends forward placing his hands on his knees.23

Why do you judge people like me so harshly?
You have no idea what kinds of people we are.
We are struggler's, we are hard workers, family's and singletons
Why do you let your family brainwash you into thinking we are some kind of disease?24

25

WOMAN26

Sees a Taxi up ahead.
Steps put onto the street waiting for it to pull up.
Turns back to face Blake27

The same reason you get embarrassed around your mother.
Family means everything.
Image means everything.
I was stupid, not thinking straight.
You hit a tender spot in my heart and I made a stupid mistake
I am just glad for your mother, otherwise I could of made a huge mistake.28

BLAKE

Grabs her arm
Pulls her of the road
Pressing her body close to his.
Desperately searching for a yes.29

Why is it such a mistake.?
Tell me why are you gonna go home to that?
Your boyfriend treats you like shit.
Your family is a bunch of society clone victims.
It is obvious that you desire so much more.
You desire risk.
Danger.
You desire, and crave another life, I can see it in your eyes.
Don't even try deny that.
I don't even have to know you to know that.30

WOMAN
31

Cab pulls up beside her
She shakes him of
She opens the Cab door.32

Because that is who I am
You would of only been a one night stand.
One hard fuck.
I would have forgotten you the next day.
You are only a boy.
Only a little boy with a long way to go before you could ever step up to my standards.
I do it because that is who I am.
After a while you can only be who everyone else wants you to be,
Being yourself always comes with a risk, a loss, a heartache.
And to be quick frank Blake.
You are just not worth loosing everything I have worked for.33

Leans forward kissing a confused Blake 34

BLAKE35

Tears rolling down his eyes
Admits defeat.
Letting her go
Watches he climb into the cab36

WOMAN37

Slides into the cab.38

Archer avenue, Please
Says to the Taxi driver39

Looks out, pulling the door closed.
Winds down the window.40

Blake you have years ahead of you.
Don't try to grow up so fast.
Be free to be who you are.
It is a luxury.
You are lucky to have a mother who loves you for who you are.41

BLAKE42

Watches as she winds up the window, and the Taxi pulls away slowly.
Wipes his nose on his sleeve.
Turning to look into the the coffee shop.
Clenches his fist.
Looks back out to the road- The Taxi is long gone.
Turning around in the opposite direction.
He gives the Coffee shop one last look before walking down the street towards home.43

    Speachless....

Admitting defeat is very hard to admit to a male, yet Prodigious you explained it VERY well...I had to laugh when you shared on a mummys boy, their are so many out their that are reading this that can't admit they are a mummy's boy and there are a few that can (I am....ssshhhh)....If I may share on line 11 where you describe the action wheezes, I know exactly what you were talking about, yet as I was reading, it looked like a run on sentance...line 11 made total sense yet technically it didn't.

When a woman is looking at her watch (like you described in the story) while we are talking....When a lady does this ! It is going to haunt me forever.

You continue to amaze me as you do with other readers.

    Thank you
