Adieu Ch. 5

Three months after Julia had become a member of the bebop, the long process of trying to recover her memories seemed to be an easier task now. Though some of her memories were some of the more terrifying ones. Spike helped her get through them. The two were once again in Spike's room as Julia undressed and frowned some. By now Spike knew that frown all to well as he got up and walked over to her and looked at the scar on her back. 1

"Its not so bad now, its healed well." He said. 2

Julia offered a light smile and looked back at him as she backed up a bit feeling his arms come around her. She lay her head on his shoulder, a comforting thing for her, like a safety net. Yes Spike was her safety net, the man she had felt she had forgotten she was now beginning to remember and know little by little.3

"Hey....let's go somewhere." Spike said as Julia grabbed a gray dress and slid it on.4

"Somewhere? Where is this somewhere?" She asked pulling her hair out and running her finger's through it. 5

"The blue Crow on Neptune...a friend died there, and I need to pay my respects to him." He said. 6

"I see....let's go then." She said nodding turning and laying her head on his chest.7

Spike smiled some taking her hand leading her to his ship as the two got inside and took off for Neptune.8

Two days later the two arrived on Neptune as Spike helped Julia down and she gasped falling forward and grabbed onto Spike for support as he held her. "Easy." Spike said helping her stand again as the two walked off. 9

"So this blue crow...what is it?" Julia asked. 10

"a bar, A place that hasn't been the same since he died." He said. 11

"He?" Julia asked. 12

"Yeah he....Gren..." He said frowning. 13

"Gren? Who was this...Gren" Julia asked again.14

"Someone, who had a past like Vicious and I, but he was betrayed, and held prisoner by his memory." He said walking down the street with Julia. 15

Julia frowned some being quiet for most of the walk through the streets. She clung to his arm when a few cross dressers walked by and frowned staying close to Spike. Spike offered a small caressing stroke to her hair as the two soon arrived at the Blue Crow.16

"Oh wow." Julia said and let go of Spike's arm hearing the saxophone as she smiled and looked around. 17

She knew this place, she knew she did. She looked over at the corner barstool and walked over to it touching it. Yes, this was where she sat, watching him. that saxophone player....what was his name...She couldn't remember, but oh that melody, that sweet serene melody. Another thought soon crossed her mind as Julia brought a hand to her stomach. She still had yet to tell Spike she was pregnant. it happened some odd three months ago, all the other times she was to shy too tell him. To afraid. She wondered if the new sax player knew the song that man had known. What was the name of that song? A thought struck her mind as she smiled. 18

"Excuse me...do you know the song....Julia?" She asked. 19

"Who doesn't? Gren used to play that song all the time." The player said and began to play as Julia sat down listening to the song.20

Yes this was the song, the tune. This tune, she remembered this tune in the back of her mind. She saoon began to hum as she listened. When the song ended she looked up seeing Spike and smiled leaving the club with him as the two flew to the site of where Gren had fallen. Julia watched Spike place flowers in the snow seeing him look in the snow as her hair blew in the wind. 21

"Spike." She said softly bringing her hands to her stomach. 22

"Hmm...hey what's up you feel sick?" He asked turning seeing she was a bit paler. 23

"No I'm fine....there's something...I need to tell you." She said and coughed a bit as she turned leaning on the wing of the ship she doubled over throwing up into the snow. 24

"Julia!" Spike said running to her side, watching her as her meal from earlier was expelled from her body. 25

"Nnnn." Julia moaned a while later and pushed her hair back a bit. 26

"Hey...you ok...why didn't you tell me you didn't feel well?" He asked concerned. 27

"There's a reason....I was just to afraid to tell you." She said.28

"Tell me what?" He asked as the snow fell around the two and Julia brought Spike's hand to her stomach and smiled, that sad yet beautiful smile of hers.29

"I'm pregnant." She said.
