The Death Note

Dear Colarra,1

I really didn't know when it all would end, when all the bloodshed and slaying would cease to exist. Yet, every single day, even at this very moment, I am forced to regret my life because of who I was before. Many days I would have an assassin job, and on others I had to take over businesses because that was just how we worked. We were greedy, vile, but very reputable. We freely gave out money (with interest, of course), our love, but we were quick to pull the trigger. We were the Karma Incensed Angels.2

Now, don't get me wrong. I did enjoy working for my Angels while I was there, and it was easy to accept the fact that they were sadists and masochists. Even more, they absolutely loved money. So when I offered a job that included about a million dollars, my boss, Donny A. Mitchelson, agreed to improve my status and allowed me to pursue such mission. 3

Everyone celebrated the rare promotion. Champagne was passed around, but all the while I had some feeling of impending doom. Then, it happened. Out of nowhere, machine guns roared, pistols kissed their bullets, and my friends died- one by one. Glass covered every square inch of the mansion's ballroom. Standing food was no longer edible, drinks were tainted, and all the while cries of children were echoing from under the tables. I desperately looked for their mothers but then remembered that their mothers had died in childbirth.4

Their cries kept getting louder and louder by the minute. I just couldn't stand it any more, and by the time I knew it, "shut up" had escaped my lips. I think that's where I lost it. Cunningly, I summoned all the children to me and prepared a drink tainted with lead from the bloodied bullets. I handed out the death drinks one by one, until every child had died, then headed to the nearest hotel for a moment.5

On the streets, I took over a Shelby Ultimate Aero. It was a hard fight getting it though. That nerdy guy just would not give up his multimillion-dollar car. We came down to fists and switchblades after about ten minutes. We kept at it for about another two, until I pointed out the location of Einstein. After that, that Shelby Aero was as good as mine. The man looked in the direction I pointed out and I punched him in his neck, right under the first curve of his skull. It felt so good, just like when you feed my one-month-old Jacob. His limp body lay on the ground, and I was relieved that he was breathing. Realizing that the cops would be there soon, though, I drove off.6

Arriving at a cheap hotel, I demanded a room with an eastern view. I didn't want any more of THOSE people here, and recollected myself after today's events. I remembered the faces of the deceased, the deception created by my wrath, and the faces of those screaming children. I passed off those feelings as if it was just another day, but those faces would not leave. Realizing that those children could have been Jacob, emotions of long ago were now newer than ever, and the more I tried to send that faces away, the more they crept back. Tears rolled down my face, and I longingly looked at my gun.7

Colarra, do you now understand why I have to leave, why I have to make amends? I know that you don't understand how I feel and how I could have stayed sane for the duration I was gone. Frankly, Colarra, I'm not sane anymore. I'm an unwanted individual, and both of us know that I have to leave. And as for Jacob, tell him that Daddy did something really bad and that God needs to punish him, so he went to see him as fast as he could.8
