"What in the world are you doing?" said Clark, who was watching Steve create a huge mess in his room.3
"I can't find it man, it was just here, I know it!" Steve replied horridly.

"Dude, calm down. What are you looking for? I'm sure it's here." Clark, still confused about what Steve was doing, started moving stuff around to see if he could figure out find whatever Steve was looking for.
"Ooo, pretty. Where did you get this? Or better yet, how did you get this?" Clark had found a ring lying on the floor under the bed. It was a nice, white gold ring with a diamond at the top followed by a design of emerald and sapphire.

"Ha! I found it!" Steve muffled as he lite a cigarette. "Now what did you...Dude put that back!" Steve rushes over to Clark trying to grab the ring while Clark held it up high.

"So where did you get it? Who's it for? Come on, you know you won't get it from me like that, so just tell me and I'll hand it over." Clark remarks with a big grin on his face.

Steve then lets out a heavy sigh and says, "It's for Sinthea; I was going to ask her to marry me. Well, I was, but..."

"But what?" Clark asked as he lite him some weed and then offered a hit to Steve.

Steve refused and finished his sentence, "I was going to ask her to marry me, but she ended it with me."

"Why dude! You two were perfect together. We all thought you two would last. What was she thinking letting you go, why if I was you, I...”

"No dude, just shut up" Steve interrupted. "She had every right to end it and I guess I have no choice but to accept it. She had asked me many times to stop smoking weed and drinking and every time I promised I would, but never did. Then I got into some deep trouble...I owed someone money. She shouldn't be with someone that will drag her into stuff like that. She deserves someone better, so I'm just going to let it go. I mean, I love her man. To me, she was the reason I got up in the mornings, the reason why I breathed. Without her, I'm nothing more than a pathetic loser. She made my soul fly and melted my heart. She truly does deserve more than I can give." Steve then sadly put the ring back in his dresser and sat on his bed.

"Man, I'm sorry dude. I had no idea. Maybe you should try to get her back. You know, stop doing the bad stuff and go get her."
"I would if I could, but every time I try to quit, I fail. There’s just no point man. No point at all." 13
"Well, with that attitude there isn't" said a girl’s voice from behind Clark.
Both Clark and Steve jumped from being startled and looked to see who it was. Their eyes grew even bigger when they saw that it was Sinthea standing at the door. Clark took one look at Steve and busted out laughing for Steve's face had turned blood red. Sinthea, seeing their faces, just smiled and looked straight at Steve.

"Aaaaa....ummm.....just how long have you been standing there?" Steve managed to say as he tried to relocate his organs.

"Long enough. Why have you never told me that you felt that way? Why didn't you stop me from leaving and tell me?" She was now closer standing only two feet from him and was looking at him with caring eyes.

"I....aaa....I thought you deserved better than a pot headed loser. So I didn't stop you." Steve was now looking at the floor, too embarrassed to look her straight in the eyes. By then, Clark had snuck out thinking they needed the time alone. All the while with a big grin on his face for he knew that look on their faces and knew they would once again be the couple that everyone looked up to and admired.

"Steve" Sinthea says as she puts her hands to his face and makes him look at her, "You are not a pathetic loser and you are not a pot head. Yes, I admit you do have a problem with smoking, but you can over come it. I believe in you, and if you will let me, I would like to help you over come it." She now was sitting next to him, her face only inches from his.

"Sinthea, I love you, but I could never let you get involved in my mess." By now, Steve was trying all he could from just breaking down and crying. He wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms again, to kiss her soft lips.

"Steve, I have been nothing but miserable without you. Clark has told me about the many times you have tried to quit and yes Steve he knew, Clark isn't as stupid as he looks. I love you Steve, and if you will find it in your heart to forgive me for leaving, I want to be with you and never leave you again."

After she said that, Steve pulled her close and held her tight. He gave her a light kiss as one tear frees itself from his tightly closed eyes. He then reaches for the dresser and pulls out something in his hand. He turns to Sinthea and looks her deeply in the eyes.

"I would love for you to be with me again, if you think you can stand to be with me forever" He then opens his hand and shows her the ring. With a shocked and loving look, she looks up at him as two tears fall down her cheek.

"I thought you'd never ask. Of course I will." At that, they kissed the first kiss of their lives.23

This is good. The charecters were believable, te dialogue was realistic, the situation is one a few people face, and the ending almost made me tear up!
