Let Go

He stared at her from across the room, trying to decide what it was about this woman that caught his attention. She looked like the devil, with her red dress, red lips, red fingertips. Every inch of her seemed to scream "fuck me, I dare you, but I won't care in the morning." Thoughts ran through his mind. Sex. Glorious, uninhibited sex. She looked like the type of woman who would claw you just to hear you scream. No ring was evident on her finger, but it was probable that she had conveniently forgotten it. His wife was at home with the children, most likely watching television and eating, as always. She was so pretty when she was young. He got up.1

"Hi there," he said, attempting confidence.2

She looked up indifferently from her martini glass and met his eyes with a  pair of soft brown spheres of heaven.3

"What?" she said.4

"I...I was just...what brings you here this evening?"5

"Boredom and alcohol."6

"Always good reasons"7

"What brings you here?" she said with a grin.8

"I guess I don't have anything better to do."9

"Why don't you go home to your wife?"10

He looked down at his hand, his wedding band glaring at him with angry, diamond eyes. With that, his streak of confidence was over. He turned his back to her and went to his car. As he drove over the bridge, he realized how foolish he had been. His cell phone rang.11

"Hello?"12

"Hi, honey, where are you?"13

"Oh, I just got out of a meeting, I'll be home soon."14

"Alright, drive safely, sweetheart."15

"Okay. Bye."16

He tossed his wedding band out of the window. The water looked so gorgeous with the winter wind forming icy crests along the banks. With a deep breath, he closed his eyes, tilted back his head, and let go of the wheel.17

this is a good idea. How many have felt the urge but never let go and let fly. It might be just the ticket.
