“It’s always been about them. All they do to me is talk about themselves.”7

“You know you’re setting yourself up as a complete and utter doormat.”12

“So I’m a doormat. So what? Doormats are very useful things to have lying around. If there weren’t any doormats, people would just walk straight indoors from outside and track dirt and mud and God knows what else on the clean white carpet.”13

“So doormats are essential?”14

“Yes. Well, no. Maybe not essential. A person could live without a doormat. But it would be a very messy existence.”15

“So how does that make you feel?”16

“You really want to know?”17

“Yeah.”18

“You’re not just saying that?”19

“Interesting. Elaborate, would you?”38

“It makes me feel like shit. Poo. Excrement. The waste that comes out of one’s rear. That’s what it feels like.”39
