Chapter Six:1

"Kiva...Kiva..."
Kiva rolled over in her sleep.
"Uh..."
"Kiva, wake up." said a voice softly. Something shook Kiva, and she opened her eyes.
"Uh...Leon?"
She quickly opened her eyes fully and her fist flew.
"OW!!!" cried Leon, clutching his face as he fell to the floor with a thud.
"What do you think you're doing in my room in the middle of the night?!" hissed Kiva, covering herself. Leon moved his hands to reveal a busted, bloody lip.
"D-Damn...You sure have good aiming..." he cursed under his breath. Kiva tossed off her blanket and stood up.
"Okay, why the HELL are you here?!"
"Keep down your voice! You're parents are home!" hissed Luke. Kiva took a deep breath.
"Sorry I hit you..." she muttered.
"You can apologize later! Just come on!" hissed Leon, grabbing Kiva hand.
"Why?! What's going on?!"
"The wolves are here! And they've brought company! You have to get out of here!"
The wind swirled again once more, and Leon turned into a dragon. He knocked a few things over from his size.2

Get on my back! Quickly!3

"But what about my parents?!" asked Kiva, doing as she was told. She gripped Leon's horns. "Will they hurt them?!"4

They could if they find you here!5

Leon quickly charged at Kiva's window. She ducked her head, and the two crashed through the window. They flew down the empty street, just a few feet off the ground.
"There they are!" howled a voice. Kiva looked back.
A pack of fifty wolves chased the two below, lead by the two wolves who attacked Kiva last time: Kiba and Nara.
"Kill the boy AND the girl! Make sure that they don't get back to our world!" barked Kiba loudly. The wolves howled and split in different directions. Leon flew upward.
"I'm not letting you get away!!!" barked a voice. Out of nowhere, a wolf flew towards Leon, and bit down on his tail. Leon roared, spun around, and flung the dog to the ground.
"Get them!!!"
Too many wolves to count flew towards Kiva and Leon like the first did, and began clawing at Leon and Kiva. A wolf quickly leaped up, and shoved Kiva off Leon. Kiva screamed as she fell to the ground, and hit the ground with a thud on the grass. She groaned.
"Heh heh...You can't run now..."
Kiva, quickly realizing it was Kiba, sat up. The wolf walked towards her. Kiva, paralyzed with fear, watched helplessly as the wolf drew nearer and nearer. She closed her eyes, and felt two paws push her roughly back to the ground. Kiva felt the wolf's hot breath on her neck.
"Shame to see such a pretty girl die...But, orders are orders."
Kiva felt a sharp white pain in her shoulder, and she screamed as she felt the fangs go deeper, and deeper into her flesh.
"GET AWAY FROM HER!!! HURRICANE BREEZE!!!"
There was a gust of wind blew past Kiva and hit Kiba. The wolf was ripped away from Kiva, and hit a tree with a sickening crack.
"K-Kiva?" stuttered Leon, getting on his knees. Kiva opened her eyes a little.
"L-Leon..."
Leon quickly took off his shirt. He ripped it in half and tied it under her arm and around Kiva's wound. Kiva saw was that he was as bloody as she was, with claw marks and bites all over him.
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you..." he whispered, turning into a dragon again. He picked her up gently in his arms, being careful not to hurt her more.
"It's okay...It's not...Your fault..." muttered Kiva. She felt everything growing darker and darker, as she and Leon took to the skies. She passed out a minute later.
