The dragon demon watched her walk down the path with the group, only once thinking he had seen her glance back at him. He thought to himself that he should not have let her leave without him knowing more. She was beautiful, and he had enjoyed her company...and watching her sleep the night before. 1
A strange thing had occurred inside of him...though he couldn't make since of what it was.2
He spent just a few days after her departure thinking and making up his mind of what he was to do, when he had come to a decision. He was going to see her again.3

"I can't believe this Shiori! Whats wrong with you!?" Jin had asked, temper flaring. She couldn't understand why her best friend wanted to leave the village. It had been her home since birth, the place where she married. And now Shiori wanted to travel to another village. For what? For who? She wondered. Was she really as unhappy as she had confided she was.5
"Please Jin...I do not wish to argue."6
"Then why bring up the matter of leaving our home!"7
"Jin I-" Shiori paused. How was she going to make her understand?8
Jin looked upon Shiori's face, she looked as though she would cry at any moment. "Forgive me Shiori, I didn't mean to yell at you...its just I don't want you to go...because I'd miss you..alot."9
Shiori smiled as a tear escaped her eye and ran down her cheek, "You are my greatest friend," then she wrapped her arms around Jin in a big hug. After a few moments she released Jin and held her at arms length, "But I have nothing left here, and I do not wish to carry on being a burden to our elders-"10
"What are you talking about? Not a single one of our elders sees you as a burden! I wasn't suppose to say this...but I overheard the elders speaking of you just before we came to retrieve you. And they were talking about you as if you were their own daughter. They love you. I love you."11
Shiori couldn't hold her tears back any longer. And as she was crying her and her best friend embraced each other.12
