Eternity

Throughout the course of time
A multitude of events occur
The fates choose what to render
For they know the reason to the rhyme1

Symbiosis is for what we long
To help us is a clever guiding force
It never stops, no remorse
It composes a swaying, hypnotic song2

Up and down, back and forth
Three steps forward, two steps back
Polaroids in your mind, stuck by a thumb tack
Always there to remind you what it’s really worth3

Distance makes the heart fonder
Although it’s sometimes difficult to see
For we can be blinded by heaps of debris
But to each other, our thoughts always wander4

Together we’ve formed a single identity
Because always in the end
The patches do we mend
What we have is called eternity
