Knight of the Tigress of Chapter 9 (part 2)

An electric current raced through KITT’s dashboard and went into Jamie’s arm. The dashboard was blinking, Michael guided KITT out of the spin; slammed into a ditch.1

Michael pushed the buttons. “KITT, I want a damage report.”2

“I have some damage to all my minor systems.”3

“Good, let’s get out of this ditch.”4

He turned his head; Jamie lay in her seat with her head against the window. He placed his two fingers on her neck.5

“She’s got a pulse!” He took his hand to move her head towards him. “KITT, I need a medical scan.”6

She opened her eyes. “Go, we need to catch them,” Jamie whispered.7

“You’re hurt. Are you sure?” He rubbed her cheek.8

“I’m a fast healer, now go.”9

Michael turned around and hit the gas. KITT flew out of the ditch and landed on the road. They were off to find the silver van. Within minutes, the van was in site.10

“KITT, where is the laser?”11

“According to my scan, the laser has been disabled.”12

“How many people are inside of the van?” Michael asked.13

“Four. I also detect a bomb as well.”14

Michael and Jamie looked at each other.15

“Easy, huh?”16

“Yes.” Jamie said.17

“KITT, can we lock the brakes?”18

“No. The bomb will go off.”19

“KITT, who is driving?” Jamie asked.20

“Amy.”21

“Trap.” Michael and Jamie said together.22

“KITT, open the roof, I’m going in.”23

“Not without me, Michael.”24

“KITT.”25

The sunroof opened over their heads as the wind rushed into the car. They started to climb out the hood. Michael balanced on the hood and waited for Jamie. He held out his hand, she grabbed his hand tried to get her footing on KITT.26

The rear doors flew open as the two guards holding guns stared at them. They pulled back on the triggers and nothing happened. Michael walked quickly on the hood to reach the guard. He did a flying tackle to knock him down onto the van’s floor.27

The other guard just gave her an evil grin as she started to walk over to the van. Jamie jumped off the edge of KITT’s hood. Her hands grabbed the rim on top of the van; she swung back and pushed her legs into the guard’s chest as he crashed into the passenger seat.28

Michael gave his final punch to the other guard. He raced over to Jamie to help her into the van. She swung back into the van and landed on her feet.29

“Very nice,” Michael said.30

“Thanks.”31

Christy sat on the floor behind the driver’s seat. Jamie walked over to her and then removed the gag from her mouth.32

“Are you all right?” Jamie asked33

“I am fine, I think,” Christy said.34

Michael looked down to see the handcuffs. “KITT, unlock these handcuffs.”35

Snap! The handcuffs fell onto the floor. Jamie turned her head to see a huge silver case in between the seats, next, as wires ran up the side to another shiny box.36

“Michael, did KITT say that Amy was driving? Jamie asked.37

“Yes.” Michael said, as he helped Christy to her feet.38

Jamie placed her hands on the driver seat to balance herself. “There is no one driving the van.”39

“KITT, what is going on?” He said into his com-link.40

“Jamie is right. The van is on remote control if the van stops or slows down the bomb will go off.”41

“Can you stop it?” Michael asked.42

“I can’t do both at the same time, I don’t have enough power,” KITT said.43

“All right, Jamie, take your sister back to KITT.”44

“No. You know KITT’s functions better than I do. I will drive the van.”45

“Sissy!” Christy yelled.46

Michael gave her that look. “All right, we are going to need communications.” He took off his com-link and gave it to Jamie.47

She took it and placed it on her wrist. “Christy, go with Michael.”48

“I am scared…”49

“I know, ladybug, but you can do it.”50

Michael grabbed Christy’s hand. “No driving until we are inside of KITT.51

“Yep,” Jamie said.52

Jamie watched them walk towards the end of the van. Michael stepped out of the van and landed on KITT’s hood. He reached out his arm towards Christy. She grabbed his hand and he guided her to the hood. Once she balanced, they climbed to KITT’s roof. Christy stepped over the windows as she slid down into the passenger seat. Then Michael followed as he landed in his seat as the sunroof closed over their heads.53

“Michael, I don’t have enough power to disable the bomb,” KITT said.54

“Give it to me.”55

“What about Jamie?” Christy asked.56

“We will stay close to the van; KITT needs time to work on the bomb.”57

Jamie walked back to the driver seat; there laid a tiny silver box which had an outline of a claw. She picked up the box and put it in her pocket. Next, she sat down into the seat to study the wires.59

“Jamie, this is Michael, can you hear me?”60

“Yes.”61

“KITT is having trouble of accessing the remote control.”62

“I got that covered; just make sure that this bomb doesn’t go off.”63

There she spotted a gun next to the bomb; she reached over picked it up. Jamie took her foot placed it on the gas pedal; next, she squeezed the trigger as a bullet hit the remote control box and using her foot as she pressed down on the pedal as the van continued going down the road. She placed the gun in her lap. She took hold of the steering wheel and began to drive down the road.64

“Michael, I am in control.”65

“KITT heard a gunshot.”66

“That was me trying to disable the remote control box and it worked.”67

“KITT is working on the bomb.”68

“I read you.”69

Jamie watched the road for other cars while she drove, when she noticed a sign that appeared.70

“Michael, can you hear me?”71

“Yes.”72

“We got a problem…”73

“I saw the sign too. Just hang in there…”74

The road begun to curve, Jamie looked down at the box that had stop glowing.75

“Hit the brakes!” Michael yelled.76

She pressed on the brakes pedal hard as she could, the van started to lose control. Jamie pulled the van in the opposite direction as it began to spin in circles.77
