Danzoku walked into the large school, carrying a couple of suit cases as he made his way to his designated room. After spending most of his time in a public school, the idea of going to a private, all-boys school was a bit odd to him. But he wasn’t bothered too much by it…nor was he bothered by much of anything, for that matter. Adjusting his glasses, he looked about while in the middle of the large corridor, not sure of where he was to go next. Finding what looked to be a stairway, he began climbing up the stairs, effortlessly carrying the two suit cases. Danzoku had large, sparkling amber eyes though their beauty was slightly masked by the pair of glasses he was required to wear. Otherwise, the big guy was blinder than a bat in the middle of the day. He wore his smooth, brown locks long, tied up in a pony tail and falling down to the middle of his back. The way the young man dressed was casual…just like always. He felt no need to draw direct attention to himself. The long hair already did such a thing, after all. Danzoku wore a plain black t-shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans that were frayed ever so slightly. Finally arriving up the long flight of stairs, Danzoku made his way down the hallway, glancing boredly at the numbers of the different dorm rooms. After making his way to almost the end of the hallway, he found his room; number 464. Danzoku set his suit cases down slowly, reaching into his pocket and grabbing the key. He unlocked the door and proceeded to walk in, making sure not to leave the suit cases out in the hall.1
Aiden sighed as she looked up at the school it was his second year here, and the thought of returning was agonizing to say the least. His mother had insisted though that he return to the boarding school instead of the public school he wanted to go to. Shaking his head he walks into the bedding and towards the stairs dragging two suitcases behind him, glad they had wheels. He was of medium height perhaps only five, six or so, with short close cropped auburn colored hair that had natural highlights of blonde and brighter red. His eyes contrasted with the red of his hair by being a starling green, bright almost grass like. Sighing he hefted the suitcases up as she started up the stairs the end of one of them banging against the stairs with each step, finally after reaching his floor he sets the suitcases down to adjust his white button down shirt, request of his mother. He loved her but sometimes she just needed to let go and back off. Picking the suitcases up he looks for the room number glad to be moved to a new room and hopefully with a new roommate, soon he found the door 464 and reached to open it to see if it was unlocked luckily it was, pushing it open with his shoulder he steps in, curious about the roommate. 2
Danzoku began unpacking his things, barely hearing the sound of the door opening. The young man hummed softly as he put away his clothing and organized his side of the room. It seemed that he was awfully cheerful despite the normal first day of school nervousness that most people felt. Granted, it really wasn't the first day of school...that wasn't for three more days. Either way, who actually wanted to spend time at a boarding school?3
Looking up from his work, he turned to face his new roommate, "Hello!" he greeted, beaming. It was always good to have a cute roommate, after all. 4
Aiden had already looked over his roommate a smile on his face, perhaps school wouldn’t be so boring. Sitting his stuff down next to the dresser on his side of the room, hearing his roommate speak he turned around. “Hello.” he says far less energetically then his roommate, though a smile did linger on his face. “So what’s your name?” he asks as he turns back around to unzip his suitcase and begin unpacking his clothing and other stuff, such as his precious laptop which was in one of the suitcase cushioned by his clothing. 5
"My name is Danzoku, but everyone calls me Dan....what's your name?" Danzoku asked politely, sitting down on his bed and turning his attention to his new roommate. He adjusted his glasses, making sure he had as perfect view of the other male as possible. 6
“Aiden.” he says not turning around as he pulled out the laptop and ignored the clothing for now. “First year here?” he asks finally looking back over at Dan, he was rather nice looking. Looking down at he computer he opens it and pushes the power open eager for it to power up so he could get back to latest project. 7
"Yeah, it's my first year. It's nice to meet you, Aiden." Dan smiled, tilting his head curiously as he watched his roommate pull his lap top out. Danzoku couldn't help but be curious as to what he was up to. He was, after all, secretly a computer geek. Well, maybe not so secretly. But he just didn't seem the part. "Whatcha doing?" he questioned, unable to resist the curiosity.8
Aiden looked up from the computer after a few seconds. “Oh working on an art piece.” he says before frowning not sure of what his roommate would think of his art, maybe his answer would satisfy his curiosity and he wouldn’t ask to see. The piece was almost done, or rather to point of where he would save it and leave it alone before he did too much to it, the picture was of an ocean sunset with waves crashing against black rocks, white sea foam spraying artfully into the sky. Looking back down he zooms on a portion that had been bugging him, it had taken years to get confident enough with the laptop to be able to draw without a tablet. 9
"May I see? I love all forms of art...being a musician myself." Dan stated, waiting for permission to sit beside him and gaze at the piece of art. This would be nice...to have a fellow artist as his roommate. A fellow artist that happened to be rather attractive...even though he seemed to be not quite sure of himself with his art...given he didn't want to show it off.10
Frowning he looked back at the picture before zooming out again, it wasn’t hideous so it wouldn’t hurt. “Umm sure.” he says moving over slightly so there would be plenty of room for both of them to sit on the bed. “What instrument do you play?” he asks waiting patiently for Dan to come over look at the picture laugh then walk away, as he was sure that would be what would happen. Or well that’s what happened at least when he showed his mother most of the time. 11
Dan got up, walked to the other bed and sat down beside his roommate. He gazed at the piece of art, a smile forming upon his lips, "That's amazing! Aiden, you are a wonderful artist!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with adoration for the work. After a moment of gawking at it, he finally decided to answer Aiden's question, "I play piano and guitar."12
Aiden was completely took a back by his admiration of the piece. “Oh it’s not that good, but thank you.” he says smiling as well. “I’ve always wanted to learn how to play an instrument but my fingers tend to refuse to cooperate.” he says as he saves the pictures and closes, with what Dan had said he would consider the piece done for now, perhaps in a year or a couple of months he would pick it back up and work on it again. 13
"You're welcome." Dan responded, gazing at Aiden, "I could teach you if you want." he offered, glad that he had hit it off so well with his roommate. He didn't know what he would have done if he hadn't gotten a kind roommate. That was just necessary to have a good experience at boarding school.14
“I had lessons for a while they didn’t’ go so well.” says Aiden smiling at the memories, this year perhaps would be better as long as Dan wasn’t just putting up a nice front for the first day. “What classes are you taking first semester?” he asks wondering if they would share any lessons. 15
"Music, art, some culinary class, algebra two, anatomy, American literature and world history." Dan responded, twiddling his thumbs absentmindedly. "What about you, Aiden?" he questioned, tilting his head to the side in curiosity.16
“Algebra two, art, biology, creative writing, world history, American literature, culinary arts 1” he says hoping he had remember the list right, from what he could tell it seemed they may have art and American literature together, that would be nice, usually he knew no one in the classes, but the few friends he had managed o make last year. “Art class should be interesting they hired a new teacher this year.”17
"Yep...new teachers are always interesting." Dan agreed, leaning against the headboard of the bed. He sighed softly, his muscles feeling tired. "A three mile walk after a five hour train ride really isn't very fun." he mumbled softly.18
Aiden looked over at him. “Perhaps you should take a nap before dinner is called.” he suggests figuring after a 3 mile hike anyone would be tired and sore, thankfully he had been driven to the school arriving right at the front gates. 19
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Do you mind making sure that I wake up for dinner, Aiden?" Dan asked sleepily, yawning softly. He removed his glasses, setting them on the nightstand between the two beds. 20
“Nah, I’ll be in here most likely unpacking.” he says as he gets up off the bed and moves to his desk where he sit’s the laptop down, before going back to his suitcase to actually unpack his clothing and other belongings. He stifled a yawn as he began to hang shirts and pants into the small closet. 21
"It sounds like I'm not the only one that's tired." Dan commented, noticing the slight yawn just barely escaping Aiden's lips. "We have three more days until school...you don't need to rush to get things unpacked..." he murmured, his eyes becoming heavier and heavier, eventually closing as he drifted off to sleep.22
Aiden was going to reply but he looked over to see Dan already asleep, smiling he continued unpacking knowing that if he didn’t’ do it know he would end up distracted the three days before the official start of school and never get it done, and it would just end up a large mess. To some Aiden could be considered a clean freak, but he just preferred everything to be in it’s rightful place where it belonged. 23
Dan slept several hours before awakening. He opened his eyes, blinking sleepily. Waking up in a new place was never fun for him...it was always hard to find his glasses again. He felted about for them, cursing himself softly. How he hated to be nearly blind without his glasses24
Aiden was sitting in his desk chair when he saw Dan searching for his glasses chuckling softly he walks to the end table and picks them up handing them to Dan. “Here you go.” he says smiling, glad he didn’t have to have glasses, though it was surprising since most of the members of his family had them. (I so know how it feels not to be able to find your glasses when you wake up)25
Dan took the glasses, smiling gratefully at Aiden, "Thank you...I'm blind as a bat without these things." he murmured, putting his glasses on. Much better...now everything wasn't a blur.26
“No problem.” he says as he moves back to the desk chair. “it’s actually almost time for the dinner bell, and the load of boring welcoming speeches and such.” says Aiden not looking forward to the talking, it was the same words every year just said by a different person, then they would finally be allowed to eat. 27
Dan nodded his head, "They wouldn't notice if we skipped, y'know?" he suggested, grinning. "We can go out into the woods and I can start teaching you to play guitar...if that sounds better than boring intro speeches with mediocre food." The cheerful fellow could be somewhat mischievous at times...but was that really a bad thing?28
Aiden smiles at the idea it was tempting. “Hmm they probably wouldn’t notice, but then where we would find dinner?” he says, he hadn’t ate since breakfast and even the mediocre cafeteria food was sounding good. If Dan could figure out a way to get some food he would go to the woods and attempt to learn to play the guitar even though he was sure he would fail miserably. 29
"Yeah, there's a little restaurant just a half mile from here. I saw it on my way here this morning." Dan explained, getting up and walking to the other side of their room, grabbing his guitar. "Let's go, shall we?" he questioned, smiling eagerly.30
“Sounds good.” he says. “Let’s do it.” grinning he pulls on his shoes and looks around for where he lay his wallet before grabbing it and his room key, glad he had some money with him, that would meant they wouldn’t’ have to stop by the atm which was near the entrance to the cafeteria, once there it was likely they would be herded in like cattle by the administrators. 31
Dan made sure to grab his wallet as well, just thrilled that he had become somewhat close to his roommate. It was always good to make friends. Leaving the school, they headed into the woods, eventually sitting side-by-side on a fallen log. If they weren't just friends, they could be taken as an awfully romantic spot. He strummed his guitar absentmindedly, biting his bottom lip. Truly, this was best way for him to think. "I guess I can start out by teaching you the very basics." he stated, doing so afterward. This wouldn't be too hard to teach! 32
Aiden had followed Dan to the log and looked around it was a nice place, would be good practice to draw, his attention though drifted from the forest to Dan as he spoke. “I hope you can do better then my first instructor.” says Aiden smiling at Dan glad that they seemed to be becoming friends, he knew there was nothing worse then a roommate you didn’t get along with. 33
"I hope so too." Dan agreed as he began teaching Aiden the simple things first. He had the other male try for himself every time that he taught something new...just to make sure Aiden got it right. 34
Aiden was catching on slowly but still troubles with even some of the basic cords, as if his hands just weren’t made to play the guitar. “Somehow I think your effort is going to turn out fruitless.” he says as he tries what Dan had just shown him. 35
"Of course it will with an attitude like that." Dan pointed out, smiling at Aiden. "Would you like for me to play something for you for now? I believe I've taught enough for this session. If I tell you too much, it won't all sink in." he explained, staring up at the sky. This area sure was beautiful.36
Aiden laughed. “You could be right.” he says as he follows Dan’s eyes up into the sky. “If you want to play go ahead.” he says curious about what Dan would choose to play, what type of song it would be. 37
Unable to think of anything else to play, Dan began playing 'I'll Follow You Into the Dark', softly singing the song as he strummed away effortlessly at the guitar. 38
He was mesmerized for a moment by the sound of the guitar and Dan softly singing, he was good. Not wanting to interrupt he just sat and listened watching Dan out of the corner of his eyes, not wanting to stare at him, which he would be doing if he was looking directly at him.39
Dan continued on playing and singing, occasionally glancing over at the boy sitting next to him. After meeting his eyes several times, he came to the conclusion that he wasn't the only one stealing glances. Finishing up the song, he turned his full attention to Aiden, "What do you think?40
Aiden smiled and clapped softly. “That was very good.” he says unsure of what to really say, a flaw of his. “What was that song?” he asks unsure of what it was called. 41
"You shouldn't be unsure you have a nice voice." he says as he runs a hand through his auburn hair tussling the strands. “I wonder what time it is.” he says looking up at the sky, to see if it gave some hint of the time.42
"Thank you. I'm glad that you like it." Dan stated, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a golden pocket watch. Flipping it open, he read off the time, "6:45....we should go ahead and head to the restaurant now. I hope that you like Chinese." he stated, smiling as he got up, offering his hand to Aiden, carrying the guitar in the other.43
“You’re welcome. And I’m always up for Chinese.” he says taking Dan’s hand after a moment of considerations before standing up and dusty off the back of his pants with his free hand. “They are probably just starting to line up for dinner at the school.” says Aiden pretty sure they had plenty of time to get back without getting in trouble. 44
Dan walked with Aiden out of the woods and down the side of the road, not realizing that they were holding hands. After they had traveled down the road a bit, realization finally hit him. he wouldn't say anything...that would just be so embarrassing. But he liked it so much...he couldn't just pull away either. He blushed, his eyes darting from side to side every now and again.45
Aiden was oblivious as well, not used to paying attention to such things, until he finally noticed and was completely unsure of what to do. So for now he would ignore a slight blush slowly growing on his face tingeing his chicks pink. He bowed his head to try to hide the blush. 46
Dan led his new friend into the Chinese food place, still not sure what to do about the hand-holding thing. 47
Soon, the two were seated, having already had to suffer through some strange looks others flashed at them. Clearly, homosexuals weren't common in these parts. Not that Dan could say for sure that Aiden was a homosexual...but Dan himself most definitely was. There was no denying that. 48
Aiden still had the blush on his face as he sat down and waited for the waitress to ask for their drinks. He was silent wondering if Dan was embarrassed to have walked into the restaurant holding towns, especially if 49
Dan wasn’t gay. He’d hate to have embarrassed his new friend. 50
Dan smiled shyly, his cheeks still a rather noticeable bright red, "I'm sorry if I embarrassed you." he apologized, feeling that he needed to. He had probably mortified Aiden....which he definitely hadn't planned on doing.51
“Oh, no, no it’s okay. I though I embarrassed you.” say Aiden as he smiles at Dan slightly. 52
Dan shook his head, "No, it didn't embarrass men. I was just worried that you wouldn't like me...holding your hand." he admitted, feeling his cheeks become a darker shade of scarlet.53
Aiden bites his lip for a moment in thought. “I.. I didn’t mind it.” he says noticing the darkening blush on Dan’s cheeks and knew his where probably matching. “I think we both look like tomatoes at the moment.” he says laughing nervously. 54
Dan laughed softly, smiling at Aiden, "Yes, we do." he agreed, nodding his head. "Um....Aiden, since we're going to be roommates, I guess I need to tell you this....and I really hope that you don't mind. Well, you see, I'm...well, I'm gay." he rambled, finally getting out what he needed to tell his roommate. That did make a big difference to some people, after all...to learn that their roommate happens to fancy the same sex rather than the opposite. 55
Aiden listened to Dan and was surprised by what he said, but with the hand holding it had gave him a slightly hint. Aiden smiled again. “Then I guess I should tell you… that umm….err yeah I’m gay as well.” he says never having actually told anyone out loud, his mother had guessed and no one else had needed to know, so he’d never spoke it out loud before. 56
Dan smiled sheepishly, "You've never told anyone before, have you?" he inquired, able to pick up the signs fairly easily. He reached out, patting his hand reassuringly as if to say 'it's nothing to be ashamed of.'57
Aiden blushes redder. “You’re only the second person to know.” he says, it was somewhat like weight lifted off to actually tell someone. “It’s err odd to tell someone.”58
"Yeah, it is. 'Cept it's a better experience when you tell someone that is accepting." Dan murmured, scratching the back of his head. "Dad kicked me out when I told him...so, until I was sent here, I've been living with my grandparents." he explained, figuring that Aiden didn't really want to hear about his past or anything. It's not like it was exciting or anything.59
“Yeah, accepting is always good. If my father was still around I would probably have been kicked out as well.” he says with a sigh. “Well at least at the boarding school we don’t’ have to deal with family often.”60
"No, we don't. And we both have someone to turn to now...a friend." Dan smiled, looking hopeful. "It's nice to not feel like the only person in the world that's different." he whispered, never taking his gaze away from Aiden. 61
Aiden smiled as Dan spoke agreeing with what he said. “It’s very nice.” he says in agreement his voice soft, as he gazed into Dan’s eyes. 62
Dan leaned forward, unsure of what exactly he was doing. A desire had welled up inside of him...one that could not be easily sated. He suddenly felt the need to be more than just a friend to the boy in front of him.63
Aiden saw him lean forward and licked his lips completely unsure of what to do, though his hand did find Dan’s a finger brushing against Dan’s hand gently, almost tenderly. 64
Dan noted the unsure look in his eyes, knowing he would have to give him reassurance. Leaning in, he kissed Aiden softly, His hand stroking up his new friend's arm in a loving manner.65
Aiden was shocked by the kiss, and it took him a few moments to respond tentatively unsure. He’d never been kissed before, so he was for the most part clueless. He liked the kiss though and the feel of Dan stroking his arm softly.66
Dan smiled into the kiss, a contented sigh escaping his lips. He pulled away slowly, gazing at Aiden with loving eyes, "I like you a lot, Aiden."67
Aiden smiled at Dan after the kiss, lips still slightly parted from the kiss. “I like you to.” he says softly, he had never thought his first kiss would be quite so nice. Well, actually he was sure he would never have a first kiss or anything like that, just spend his time with his art and his few friends. 68
"I would like to get to know you better." Dan purred, never tearing his gaze from Aiden. In fact, the only time he looked away was when the waitress came and asked for their orders. Other than that, Dan's complete attention was on his new friend. Though friend wasn't quite the word anymore...it was something a bit more passionate than that.69
He was completely caught in Dan’s gaze barely able to mumble out his order. “That would be nice.” he says finally giving a reply to what Dan had said though the words came out in a low whisper, his voice suddenly not there anymore. 70
Dan smiled lovingly, "Good." he whispered, stroking his hand affectionately. This was going to be a very good year...Dan just knew it!71
Aiden was going to say something but at the moment his stomach decided to make it’s hunger none with a rather loud grumble which had him blushing more, his eyes now centered on the table in embarrassment. 72
Dan laughed softly, "I take it from the sounds your stomach is making that you're hungry." he pointed out, leaning over and kissing his cheek. "The food will be here soon. Don't worry." he reassured softly.73
“I hope so, my stomach can’t decide whether to eat it’s self or some other portion of my body.” he says with a smile his voice finally coming back to him. “This year I think will be good one.” he says not really meaning to say them out loud, but it was true he had a new friend who seemed like he could be so much more. 74
Dan chuckled softly, "I believe it'll be a great year." he agreed, his smile big and almost goofy-looking in an innocent, childish look. What would they do after dinner, Dan pondered. 75
The smile on Dan’s face made Aiden smile wider, before he took a sip of the drink that he hadn’t even noticed when it arrived to caught up in Dan. 76
"Tell me all about you, Aiden. I wanna know you better." Dan stated, listening intently to what his new friend was to say. The more they knew about one another, the easier it would be to get close to one another.77
Aiden laughed softly. “There isn’t much about me to know.” he says pondering on what to say. “I grew up in many different states always moving. So I’ve seen more of this country then most. And that would probably be the most interesting thing about me.” he says shrugging, completely unsure of what to say about himself no one had asked about him before. 78
"Oh, that's interesting. I've done a little bit of traveling myself....I spent most of my time in Canada and New York though." Dan explained, figuring they would learn a little about each other at the same time. That would be fun, right?79
“I’ve never been to Canada before though they seem a bit more sensible up there. We spent a couple of months in New York City, way to crowded there but full of life.” he says, he wouldn’t mind going back to New York he had liked the art that littered the very streets. 80
"New York is an interesting place. Way too busy for my tastes, though. I prefer less crowded areas with lots of nice scenery." Dan responded, sighing happily. "Canada was such a wonderful place...I wish I could go back someday."81
“You would probably like Oregon though, it has some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve seen roaming the country with my mom.” he says, remembering it, those five months spent there had been his favorite waking up to the sound of gentle rain on the rooftop of the small house they rented. 82
"That does sound like a nice place. It's pretty rainy there, isn't it? I absolutely love the rain." Dan stated, reaching over and holding Aiden's hands, a sheepish smile upon his face.83
Aiden rubbed his thumb against Dan’s hand. “Yeah, lots of rain. I remember loving the look of it, all the green that surrounded everything.” he says smiling at Dan. 84
Sounds beautiful." Dan breathed, a soft purr escaping his lips. Clearly, he rather enjoyed his hand being rubbed by Aiden's thumb.85
Aiden blushed as Dan purred but didn’t move his hand away from his. “It was. I’d like to go back there, stay in a little cabin back in the trees and do nothing but paint all day.”86
"You would have to take me with you. I would love to watch you paint." Dan stated, slowly slipping his hands away from Aiden's as the food was brought to them. He supposed he would have to eat now.87
“That would be nice perhaps we could paint something together.” he says smiling as he reluctantly pulled his hand back as the food was sat at the table, he could spend the rest of night talking to Dan, the food forgotten. 88
Dan began to eat slowly, his gaze occasionally drifting over to Aiden. It was just so hard to keep his eyes off of him. "This is good." he murmured after swallowing a mouthful of chicken fried rice. 89
Aiden’s eyes drifted as well, after Dan spoke he nodded his head, his mouth full of lo mien so speaking in reply would have been rude. The food was good, and he wondered why he hadn’t came to the Chinese place last year to eat. 90
Dan went back to eating, half-starved, yet completely distracted by the boy in front of him. 91
Soon, he was finished with the large meal that he had ordered. What could he say? Dan happened to be able to eat a lot and barely gain any weight whatsoever. "Looks like we'll get to walk home in the rain, Aiden." he stated, motioning to the rain pouring down and dribbling down the window.92
Aiden had finished what of his he could eat, though he trouble with coordination his gaze kept traveling to Dan. Aiden smiled a the mention of walking in the rain, even if it might be cold it was always a joy to be in the rain. “Nothing wrong with that.” he says smiling before pulling out his wallet to leave a tip for the waitress, as well as his half of the bill. 93
"Nothing wrong at all." Dan agreed, reaching out and touching his hand gently, "No, you don't have to pay, Aiden. I'll buy." he offered, kissing the top of his hand.94
“You sure.” he asks flustered by the kiss and the offer of Dan to pay. 95
"Positive." Dan responded, taking out his wallet and leaving the money and the tip on the table. "C’mon...let's go out there." he stated, getting up and offering a hand to him.96
“Alright.” says Aiden placing his wallet back in his pocket. Reaching out he took the offered hand and stood. “the walk back to school should be nice.” he says looking back out the window at the rain. 97
"Yes, it should." Dan responded, holding Aiden's hand as they walked out of the restaurant and into the pouring rain. Within minutes, Dan was drenched, His shirt and pants clung to his figure, showing it off much better than before. His hair was plastered across his face, obstructing his vision. "This is nice, wouldn't you agree?" he purred, wrapping his arm around Aiden's waist and pulling him close.98
Aiden was drenched as well his auburn hair now appearing dark brown was plastered to his head and forehead and his white shirt nearly transparent, he leaned against Dan as he pulled him close. “It is nice, though I hope neither of us get sick.” but then again if they both got sick they would be told to stay in the dorm till they got better, that wouldn’t be so bad. 99
"It wouldn't be so bad...we could take care of one another." Dan cooed, leaning down and kissing his forehead. Never had he thought his first day at the boarding school would have wound up quite like this. Never in a million years.100
Aiden’s thoughts trailed along the same path as Dan’s though of course he didn’t know that. “That would be nice, especially if we weren’t that sick.” he says, wishing he was taller, it would be so much easier to catch Dan’s lips in a kiss. 101
"Yeah... That would be so nice." Dan agreed, walking inside the large boarding school and heading to their room. "Let's get into some dry clothes, hm?" he offered, watching the water drip from the both of them.102
“That is a good idea.” he says the idea of dry clothes lovely considering his clothing was starting to chill him from the air conditioning of the building. 103
Dan walked to the dresser that held his clothing. Stripping himself of his shirt and his pants, he searched through the drawer, finding a pair of boxers. Turning away, he removed his soaked boxers and put on the fresh ones. "Mm...much better." he purred, just hating to be dressed in drenched clothing.104
Aiden was quick to change out of his wet clothing pulling on boxers and a pair of plaid pajama paints, that he tended to wear when just hanging out, he also pulled on a solid black t-shirt preferring to be fully clothed. “Yes, it’s nice to be in dry clothes again.”105
"Definitely." Dan agreed, laying down upon his bed, motioning for Aiden to lay down next to him. He surely hoped that his friend didn't mind the lack of much clothing. Dan never had been one to wear a lot of clothes unless he had to.106
Aiden bit his lip again in indecision before joining Dan on the bed, he lay on his said facing Dan looking over the taller boy, a faint blush tinting his cheeks. He’d never lay this close to anyone before especially not a boy , who he was growing a rather large crush on. 107
"Aw, don't be shy." Dan reassured, wrapping an arm around him. "If I put more clothes on, would that make you feel better?" he asked, hoping to make him more comfortable in any way that he could.108
“I’m good.” he says though he had tensed for a moment when Dan wrapped an arm around him, this was all still new. “It’s just new.” he says with a bit of a nervous laugh. 109
"That's understandable. It's kind of new to me too." Dan stated, watching him with loving eyes. Removing his glasses, he set them on the nightstand. He figured that would be best, considering they would probably be sleeping soon.110
"What does the world look like with out your glasses on?" he asks curious about what it would be like to see a muddle world. 111
"It's really blurry. I can see you, but I can't make out many details. Your eyes are still gorgeous, though." Dan responded, stroking his back lightly. 112
Aiden smiled as Dan said that blushing more wondering if he could see. Shyly reaching out he runs a hand down the side of Dan's face. "Your eyes are brighter without the glasses." he says, Dan really did have gorgeous eyes. 113
Dan leaned into his touch, smiling warmly, "So you like my eyes, Aiden?" he asked, his smile widening. How he loved his new friend...it was just amazing how strong of a bond they had already forged.114
"Yes they are the most unique shade of amber." says Aiden as he continues stroking Dan's face absently. 115
Dan blushed shyly, "Thanks, Aiden...I'm glad you like them." he whispered, gazing at him with those nearly blind eyes of his. Regardless of blurriness, Aiden was still gorgeous.116
Aiden continued to watch Dan, but his eyes grew heavier as he struggled to keep them, open not wanting to go to sleep yet and ruin the moment. 117
"If you're sleepy, we should rest." Dan pointed out, starting to feel rather sleep himself. This had been a rather eventful day, after all. He had all the reason in the world to be tired. "Night, Aiden." he purred, kissing him softly.118
He returned the kiss even as his eyes slipped clothes, the day had been spent traveling and then finding shiny light at the dreary school he had dreaded coming to, but now it wouldn’t' be so bad, nothing could be so bad. 119
Dan soon fell asleep, a soft smile upon his face as he slept peacefully, his arms wrapped around his roommate. He had never slept so well in his entire life.120
Aiden slept well as well snuggling up against Dan in his sleep, a soft almost sighing sound passing his lips with every exhale, his sleep deep, and resting he would be loathe to wake in the morning. 121
Morning came and Dan awoke as the first rays of sunlight filtered in through the window. He opened his eyes, the whole world fuzzy and smeared. He sniffled, feeling as though he was getting sick. The rain must have given him a little cold.122
Aiden was still asleep his head tucked against Dan's chest, and his hair sticking straight up and out since it had dried during the night. 123
Dan stroked Aiden's messy hair, figuring that he wouldn't wake him. He was just too cute sleeping like that to wake him. But the cold had other plans. Dan sneezed loudly, shaking his body. 124
Aiden swam to awakens rather groggily and cracked his eyes open the sound of Dan sneezing waking up. "You getting sick?" he asks his voice muddied by sleep and the fact that he was no where near fully awake. 125
"Yeah, I think so." Dan responded, sniffling. His amber eyes were glassy, clearly showing that he didn't feel good at all. "I'm sorry I woke you."126
"It's okay. Need to get up anyways. Do you want me to get you anything for your cold?" he asks as he sits up and stretches. 127
"A little cold medication would be good. I brought some...it should be in that drawer there." he explained, motioning to the top drawer. "It's always good to have some medication when you need it, after all." Dan pointed out, sneezing again.128
Aiden nods his head as he gets off the bed and opens the drawer pulling out the medicine reading the instructions before getting Dan the recommended dosage. "Here you go. Want some water?"129
"Yes, please." Dan responded, a soft smile upon his face. "You're so kind, Aiden. I should be better soon...this seems like it'll pass over quickly."130
"I hope so, I know colds are no fun." he says as he gets Dan a bottle of water, before returning to the bedside and handing over the medicine and water. 131
Dan took the medication, drinking the water with it. "Thanks so much." he whispered, leaning over and pulling Aiden close to him, kissing his cheek. 132
"You're welcome." he says smiling, he let himself be pulled close to Dan, reaching up he checked to see if he had a fever. "You don't have a fever so that’s a good sign." he says softly. 133
"Yes that's always good to know." Dan agreed, stroking his cheek. "Got any plans today?" he questioned, wondering if he would have to be left alone for some of the day.134
"Not really." he says with a smile. "My plans so far are to eat as some point during the day and that would be about it."135
Dan laughed softly, "That sounds good. I'll have to go with you when you get food." he said, sitting up. Now...he had to get his glasses. Feeling about on the nightstand, he eventually grabbed them and put them over his eyes.136
“Yes you will, can’t let you starve in the room all by yourself.” says Aiden with a smile. Reaching up he flattened his hair done from it’s spike and frizzy state.137
Dan watched Aiden, chuckling softly, "Your hair sure is a mess...then again, mine probably is too." he stated, shaking his head. "If you'll come over here with a brush, I can brush your hair for you." he offered, beaming.138
Aiden laughed. “I should be the one offering that, you’re the one with all the hair.” he says smiling, it was true though Dan had miles of hair compared to him. 139
Dan blushed, "Yeah...I never really saw the need to cut it." he responded, shrugging. He just hoped that Aiden liked his hair. He seemed to, like in the beginning of most relationships, feel the need to impress Aiden in any way that he could.140
Aiden smiles as he get sup to get the brush. “I always wanted long hair, but short is easier to take care of.” he says returning with his brush to sit on the bed. 141
Dan nodded his head, "Yeah, it's not too easy to take care of...but I like it." he said, smiling as he saw Aiden return with the brush. It was so lovely to have someone that you were so close to.142
“So what do you think about letting me attempting to brush your hair?” he asks with a smile. If he did brush Dan’s hair he hoped he wouldn’t pull his hair or anything. 143
"I don't mind at all." Dan responded, moving up a bit so Aiden could sit behind him and brush his hair. "I trust that you won't hurt me." he added, flashing him a friendly smile. 144
“I’ll try not to.” he says as he reaches out to pull all of Dan’s hair back so he could reach before running the brush the locks as gently as possible trying not to pull out any hair. 145
Dan purred softly, clearly enjoying the attention that his hair was getting. It felt so good...so relaxing. "You're good at this, Aiden..." he whispered, feeling almost sleepy and he didn't think it was from the medicine that he took either.146
Aiden smiled as he continued, until he brushed his hair smooth. “Has anyone else ever brushed your hair before?” he asks curious. 147
No one except me." Dan responded, his eyes sparkling with sheer bliss. "And you did an excellent job.." he mumbled, half-way conscious.148
“I think I put you to sleep.” he says reaching over to place the brush on the night stand since he had finished brushing Dan’s hair. 149
"Just about..." Dan responded, leaning against Aiden a bit. It felt so good, he couldn't help but feel sleepy. He yawned, nuzzling his head against his chest.150
Aiden smiled as Dan leaned against him, reaching up he un-tucked the hair from behind one of Dan’s ears. “Have to figure out something to wake you back up.” he says softly, though he himself wouldn’t mind going back to bed at all. 151
"I'm sure you can figure something out." Dan murmured, barely conscious at this point. The boy simply couldn't stay awake much longer. He was far too relaxed after having his hair brushed.152
In a moment of bravery Aiden gently turned Dan's head to face him before kissing him on the lips, his shyness coming back, the kiss clumsy, but he was still new to whole kissing thing. 153
Dan returned the kiss, a soft smile upon his face despite the clumsiness of the kiss. He liked it none the less. "That was nice..." he cooed, discovering he was a bit more awake now. Dan gazed up at Aiden, his eyes shining with love. He really did care an awful lot about this boy that he had only recently met.154
Aiden was immensely glad that his clumsy attempt at a kiss seemed to have worked. “I think that might have woke you up a bit.” says Aiden grinning, glad Dan didn’t fault him for his clumsy, shyness. 155
"Yeah, I do too." Dan responded, giving Aiden a gentle hug. "Thanks." he whispered, a soft smile upon his face. He had become rather attached to his roommate easily...he couldn't exactly explain how. Love at first sight, maybe?156
“My pleasure.” he says with a grin, as he returns the tug. If things kept up him and Dan it seemed would be head over heels in love, though the idea of love had him cringing internally. Love had never been his forte. 157
"What shall we go and do now that I am at least partially awake?" Dan questioned, scratching the back of his head. Were they supposed to be going and doing something now? It really escaped him at the moment.158
“I think breakfast is calling our names.” says Aiden. “And since you are new I think that perhaps I should show you around, this place can become a maze of confusion if not.”159
"That sounds wonderful, Aiden." Dan stated, nodding his head. "Let's get dressed and get going, shall we?" He was eager to see this place...it was just huge! And well...food was always good.160
“Sounds like a plan.” he says as he gets off the bed and moves to hunt some clothing, soon he had a t-shirt and pants on changing just as quickly as the night before.161
Dan got some clothes from the dresser and put them on quickly, figuring they might as well hurry up and get to the cafeteria before all of the good food was gone.162
Making sure he looked presentable enough Aiden turns to Dan. “Shall we get going before everyone eats all the good food?”163
"Yeah, let's go!" Dan exclaimed, beaming. He sure was a happy guy, that was for sure. Dan held Aiden's hand as they walked, hoping he wouldn't mind too terribly much.164
Aiden was unsure of the hand holding but for now he didn’t mind it too much, he wished he could be as happy as it seemed Dan was. “Guess I should lead the way?” 165
Dan nodded his head, "Please do." he responded, just glad to have a friend...a rather close friend. When one got right down to it, Dan was a lot like a little kid. It didn't take a lot to please him and he seemed almost oblivious to the rest of the world.166
Aiden smiles as he leads the way out of the dormitory and past the science building that held most of the science classes. “That’s where your science classes will be.” he says pointing to the building that looked similar to the dormitory just had a few less windows. Once past the science building they made it to the building that housed the cafeteria, and the rather large library. Which if Aiden hadn’t been with Dan he most likely would have been in the library catching up with those few he was friends with. 167
Dan nodded his head, listening to all that Aiden had to tell him about the locations of such things he would need to know. "The library, hm? I'll have to visit there sometime." he commented, having always been a little bit of a book worm168
“It has a pretty good selection of books.” says Aiden as he pushes open the door to the cafeteria they where greeted with the noise of too many talking each trying to talk louder then the other it seemed. 169
"Lots of people." Dan commented, a light blush coming to his cheeks. He never had done well around other people. Oh well...they could just get their meal and everything would be okay. Nothing to be nervous about...he hoped anyway.170
“Yeah unfortunately.” says Aiden scanning the people for anyone he knew, but unfortunately it didn’t seem like anyone was there. “Let’s get in line.” he says pointing towards the short line that lead to the servers who would dish out their food.
