Signs

As I sit here meditating on the blessing of the privilege of being a student of The Word & the imminent coming of our King I am amazed as I see the insights I've been given through my studies & life experience. I see the nature of man as described in the Bible unfold.3

Pr 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil;4

Pr 14:33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.5

Pr 15:7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.6

Pr 15:14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.7

Pr 15:28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.8

Ec 9:3 This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. 9

In the nightly news we're barraged by "spins" of politicians, heads of State & newscasters. All of the most despicable, faulty, irreligious & egregious traits of man are being displayed right before our eyes. Pr 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not He that pondereth the heart consider it? And He that keepeth thy soul, doth not He know it? And shall not He render to every man according to his works? 10

In the printed word, in what passes for "entertainment" in the form of "art" that influences all of our senses on every level, we are being barraged by an evil that is unparallel in time past. 11

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 12

Historians & "scholars" in every field have been promulgating error on every subject imaginable & this error has been disseminated knowingly throughout the worlds' educational, religious & political systems. We have all been affected by this insidious evil. Where did all this start? Let's go back to the beginning of The Word. Gen 3: 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Gen 3: 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.13

Well, man certainly did learn good & evil, but because of the lack of understanding of His Word man disobeys & without His Spirit he cannot discern the difference between the two. Joh 16:13 Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth. 1Jo 5:6 This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 14

Unbeknownst to many is the fact that America as a nation was started as an experiment of "Secret Societies" which had as one of its sources the Revolution of the "Age of Enlightenment". There are many documents & books one can refer to which will verify this. Of the many "illusions" that I've come to understand passing as "truth" & making me cringe every time I see or hear it, is that our country was founded by believers in the Bible who revered our Creator. The bold unabashed fact is that many of our "Founding Fathers", as they are called,15

were members of Secret Fraternities who all have their root in the occult & who in reality worship the "prince of the power of the air". 16

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. {desires: Gr. wills} 17

The only safe haven in a world rife with sin, lies & spins is in The Word. Constant prayer, [Ac 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word; Ro 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Col 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; 1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer] study, [1Th 4:11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.] & application of His Word will bathe us in His Spirit. Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? Ga 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another 1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. His Spirit & Power will offer us our only True protection in these end times.

    A quick grammer/puntuation critique;

    (3) Needs to be broken up. Eg (add what is in [])
    "As I sit here meditating on the blessing of the privilege of being a student of The Word[,] [and] the imminent coming of our King[,] I am amazed as I see the insights [that] I've been given through my studies [and] life experience." It is not good form in writing to use abbreviations and shorthand.

    (4-9) All your scriptural references should be italized and placed in single inverted commas. Eg;
    "Pr 15:14 'The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.'
    Stylistically, you should maybe choose to quote from a modern Eglish translation such as the Good News Bible, rather than the more archaic King James Version. This makes your point more understandable to your audience.

    (10) When quoting within a paragraph try;
    "The Godly man Solomon, at Pr 24:12, had this to say of man's condition: 'If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth...' This way you give you reader something more than sheer quantities of quotes, but give them some idea of who God used to write these words.

    In the remainder of your piece you should apply the same. Introduce your scriptures and quote them appropriately. To be able to give a convincing argument try to give a reason for the quote, rather than just the quote.

    For example in your last paragraph you quote one scripture after another. Instead, try summarizing the points contained in your own words and then in brackets acknowledge the scriptures. Eg;
    "The word of God contains many beneficial ways to improve our life and standing before God; in our prayer, study, seperateness from the world, and trust in the sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ (Eph 6:18, Col 4:2,...etc)"

    If you do wish to improve how you present a convincing religious argument, feel free to IM me - I have quite a bit of experience.

    For the contest, I will be judging on improvements made, and not content.

    Well, as far as I can tell, this is dogma. That's all fine and well, but as such it is more an essay than a story. I really don't see anything to make me think that this is fiction. Of course, non fiction can be arranged in a dramatic form, but this is essentially a persuasive essay. If it were a story, I might comment on it further. Being that it is dogma, I really have no opinion
