Oblivious

"It was the hottest day since the dawn of time when the sun finally overloaded and shorted out. The ozone layer rippled with the shock wave, and as once was foretold in a children's story, the sky fell."1

I stand in front of the class. Everyone's eyes are on me. Well, it at least feels like it. They were probably all just zoning out and not even listening to a word I say. Even the teacher was just staring out the window.2

I don't see why I should even bother finishing. In fact, I'm not going to! I stop mid sentence and make my way back to my seat.3

After a while the class realizes that I am no longer speaking. They clap their hands and the teacher praises my work.4

How oblivious.

Author notes

Credit goes to EphemeralStyle for the first paragraph.

My first story, I thought I should at least upload something and so I was given a story starter and went from there. It's not very good, and it's left wide open as to what could happen next. Oh well, I'll get better eventually.

I hope you like it.

I posted my first story today. I have been writing poetry here for years. It is true what you have said in your story, too many of us do not pay attention to life. I applaud you not finishing ...well done, thanks for sharing

Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!!! I'm famous! And you posted a story!

Considering I'd read this before you posted, I don't really have much to say....... But it works well, it's short (therefore pretty much impossible to lose interest with) and hilarious. Soooo true.

    Awesome work! Applause for Sarah!
