*How do I set out my Novels?*
How do I set out my novel?1
When I write a Novel I tend to use the Ten-by-four format approach.2
What is the Ten- by- Four approach?3
Ten-by-four means for me: Ten chapters, each chapter containing four parts, Ten pages, 4000 words .Hence one novel contains forty parts , which equals around - 40, 000 words.4
Why do I use this method?5
I found out that way using this method of novel writing, that I was able to go ahead and make an equation, an estimate if you will about how many words I would need to write to start of with. I would use that estimate to map out a goal. Sometimes saying I will write 4 pages today, that would give me nearly 2000, that's another 15,000 to go. I also use this method because it is even, easy to work out, gives me around 4000 max words each chapter, and it just an easier system if you are as organized as me.
How did you find this method?6
To be honest with you all. I am the kind that needs everything to be at least somewhat equal, all revolving around one or two numbers. I can;t have loose numbers, or loose pages it annoys me. How did I find this method. Well right back to when I did my first outline for Trans-Jenna back in 2005, I wanted to write 10 pages, every night, so that by ten days I would have a 100 page novel. That theory of 100 pages worked out right, but in the end it took me more than ten days to hand-write and type it. The four part came in because I saw Two parts being to less, and Six parts being to much, So I settled on four.7
And that's how I write my novels using that format.8
What novels have you tried this method on?9
I only have Two completed novels at the moment, and an almost complete one. I am also starting another novel with the same method. Funny enough they are both the series novels I am writing, which is:10
.Trans-Jenna : One & Two
. The Apparition Man: One & Two 11
To conclude this segment, I would urge you all to at least try it with your next project. It does help to keep your work organized. You can either do it on loose leaf paper (which I love to see) or you can do it on the computer (most processing documents have page number formatting tools). 12
The biggest help while using this format was : National November Writing Month (Nanowrimo)

Very organized and I like that. Would you mind if I tried it out? I think it could possibly help me-having a goal. I use to write a lot each day over the summer, but now I don't have too much time. So, it's time to try something new. You know?

Wow, this is how you write?
It is an interesting insight into how exactly you plan your novels and how they are organized. I am completely different, as I have already told you. But it is nice to see some military precision every now and then.
