Series Two - Part Nine2

Ben moved closer, compelled, obsessed with the senses that hung in the air. His confusion sent his mind into overdrive, his paranoia of death lay rested in his eyes, and yet he moved closer towards the stranger, towards the creature of the night. His heart racing, faster, harder, his chest becoming more and more constraint with each breath he breathed into the still morning air.3

Darius could see that the power of his words were working. The child was listening, feeling. He knew he had reached the pit of his soul. His old mortal soul connected deeply within the child, begging him, bringing him towards his mouth.4

Sin watched as his partner, followed the nape of the child's neck with brisk strokes, caressing his soft, innocent flesh. Basking in the beauty of the untouched. He wanted to be to one to discover. He wanted to be the one to find his blood, but instead he remained loyal, trusting Darius completely with his life. For Darius knew exactly what he was meant to do, and how he was to do so.5

Ben lowered his neck, tilting it to the side. 6

The creatures tormenting whispers echoed though his mind. Both beautiful and frightening, he Sending him a message of patience, and trust. 7

Darius wanted so badly to instill trust within the boy, and yet he could still feel the fear beneath his skin, he could feel it crawling within his veins, like worms through dirt. Something was different with this boy, and he could sense it the moment his hands coldly touched the nape of his neck.8

Flashes of light flickered in his eyes. Gold, flashed, Silver and copper. Colors of wealth, hunger need, desire. A crown, fallen. Shaken memories. He saw a man fall to his knees, while a woman bathed in blood, and then he saw a farmer, his hands wrapped tightly around his lovers neck. Her neck raw red from strangulation. Her breathing ceased.9

Darius pulled back. A sharp pain running through the tendents in his arm. Like the child had burnt him from the inside.10

Sin watched as Darius retreated from the boy. His own hands stayed by his side. His heart thumped against his rotting rib cage. Fear, fear of death illuminated inside the barn yard.11

“What is it Darius,” Sin asked, edging back from the boy, keeping a careful watchful eye on him, as the rooster crowed again.12

Darius frowned, rubbing his sore arm, and extended it again, running his hand behind Ben's neck.13

“What do you see boy,”Sin asked, as Darius slid his fingers down the arch of his shoulders. Carefully examining the boys neck.14

Ben shivered under the creatures frozen touch. He no longer saw what he wanted to see. His eyes filled with hot tears, swelling, mounting as they fell like a stream, like a river down his dusty face. His skin burned hot, his eyes grew sharp, and harsh, while his heart continued to thump, crashing against his chest at an alarming rate. It hurt, but not as much as things he could see.15

Darius crept towards his neck, tracing it from the tip of his earlobe, to the tips of is shoulders. Breathing in the heavy warmth of the boys truth.16

“He sees death, much like that of the Grim Reaper. His skin is hot like the sun, it burns mine like fire. We must now come boy, You must let me drain you, just a slight drop of blood, and we must be quick now, don't fear.”17

Ben kept perfectly still. Tense, his whole body stiffened under the hot tongue of the creature. Images of his mother, laying frozen, and dead, reappeared time and time again, over and over like photographs being show in a slide show, repeatedly casting him sorrow,so deep he felt he could not go on any longer. He stay stiff, until no more tension could be felt, until his body was ready to submit. To submit with out trust, but to submit for vengeance on what he had seen.18

Slowly, feeling the boy relax at ease, Darius extended his fangs, clenching on softly to the vein in his neck, and bit hard into his virgin skin, taking the first taste of blood of the prophecy child.

Author notes

♥ Part Nine ♥

I seem to always make it go weird Lol... It was nice to write it in the evening instead of the morning... So I am not so sure about how it turned out... trying not to be so preachy...
