*How did I start? And why do I write?* 1
I can't believe you asking that,*bitch slaps all of you*. Okay so No I won't, but let me ask you this. Why does a Marathon runner run, Why does a Ice skater skate? Why does a basketball player shoot hoops? Why do sports athletes compete? Okay so maybe I am not so creative with my questions, but I am pretty certain you all know where I am heading. 2
Because they love it, pure and simple. It gives them thrill, gives them light, and love, give them a chance to show everyone what they are made of, challenge themselves, make something of themselves while following their dreams, and their passions.3
Why do I write? For all those reasons and so much more.4
From the wee age of eight I always knew I wanted to write stories. Instead though I used to keep little diaries filled with weird and wonderful things the likings of an eight your old would muster. That fascination with life's strangeness, might have left me for a few years after that, but it was never fully gone, and while I desired to be just like most people and be a in a good profession. I also has the dream of becoming a world famous Author.5
Sigh * oh don't we all want to be the greatest, the most richest, most talented, writer in the world. Laugh all you want, I knew what I wanted, and I was going to stop at nothing to achieve my dream. Though while others wanted it for money, and most of them for the fame. I like not so many amateurs, just wanted to write to make people happy. To make people think. To create my own world outside my pretty shit one, and to be myself, to put myself into something, have that be who I was. Nurture my gift.6
I rekindled this fascination with the word, and with life, when I turned thirteen.7
When I was Thirteen, I wanted to write something that would have everybody talking. Everybody amazed at my talents. I just wanted everyone to notice me. They noticed everyone else. Sarah and her guitar playing, James with his basketball, Matthew for his intelligence, Candice for her arts. But no one knew what I was good at.8
You hear about all the time. How the best selling authors , were the ones who mostly either spent High-school with their heads in a trash can, or hiding in the library consuming the entire bookshelves of books. Most of them are self confessed nerds, loners, people with high intelligence, or large amounts of creativity. People who barely got noticed for there talents, either because no one bothers to actually pay attention to them, or they didn't want to know, when there was far more interesting things like a basketball game to watch.9
That was me. I was one of those self confessed nerds who would take a book to P.E, who instead of spending my lunch time walking around the school checking out hot guys, or fooling around behind the gym, I would got to the library to write, to read, to observe, to immerse myself in the forgotten world of my generation. I was one of those nerds who would always have a book in her hand, and a spare pen and notepad in case inspiration would strike.10
So when I was Thirteen, I used every last bit of my time to write, and by the end of a month I had a what I thought to be a pretty good story.11
Ah my first story. It was the first story in a series called “The Perry Chasity series.” For those who Don't know I was a lesbian at thirteen. So my big escape into this homophobic world as a writer was to write this story, about a young teenage girl who falls for her soon to be step-sister. Her worst enemy. Who becomes her best friend.
So what did I start with?
.I started with a notebook
.A few pens
.Imagination
. A computer & a Printer12
I had nothing really, the bare basics, but at the end , when I could see the first ever story I wrote on paper. A story written by me. I knew from that day on, That's what I wanted to do... I wanted to write.13

It's never boring to read about the writer discovering her craft! I heard once that each artist started as an escape and I think that is true. I mean, I wrote to escape things at first-when I was getting serious.Thank you for the inspiration, as well. It's always interesting to hear about how others got started.

Awwww hon you could never bore me to death! I actually found this fascinating and quite funny how I can relate to almost everything you said too. I use to be that way myself at that age. I would go to library with books or write. I never was one of these who was obsessing with boys or sports. I obsessed with reading and writing. People thought I was the weirdest thing on the face of the earth. I actually like being weird. lol! This is such a great write. It tells so much about you in it and I had so much fun just reading through it.
