Ramblings on a Rockshow

I do remember colors. I don't remember the faces or the words. I know the music, but I don't remember the distortion. But the colors are still vivid.1

"This day has come to an end
the cloud is over my head
my polyamorous friend
You've got me in a mess of trouble again..."2

Maybe the word isn't vivid, ar at least not the word most people would use, because since when is black vivid, right? I think it was the energy that made the color vivid. But there were so many different shades of black that I felt a rainbow.3

"...So just when you think that it's alright
I'm calling out from the inside
I never hurt anyone
I never listen at all..."4

I sweat clean that night. When someone says "rock concert" people think dirt and grime, sweat and stench. But that's not true, rock show are so hot and cramped that you sweat until it's water. When i came home, my clothes didn't dry for three days.5

"...They've come to get me again
The sun is over my head
My polyamorous friend
you've got me in a mess of trouble again..."6

Thw music was yellow. Yess, yellow. The words transformed into colors the moment they left his perfect mouth.7

"...Just stay away from the bright light
I'd say your worst side's the best side
I never hurt anyone,
I neved listen at all..."8

I was red. My clothes were black, like all the others around me. But he saw me. He looked at me and wanted to stop me from suffocating being stuffed between the "big boys." He saw me as a brilliant red, the red of the fire my eyes get at these shows.9

"...How do you know?
How do you know?
Well, how do you know?"10

Ben Burnley made my heart explode that night, he looked me straight in the eye. His eyes are intense, they were brownish that night, but I'm sure they change by his clothing. I do remember color, perhaps just in a different way than others.

Author notes

I wrote this for my english class sophmore year. I went to a breaking benjamin concert 7/25/2006 at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT.

I don't own Breaking Benjamin or the song Polyamorous, i'm just borrowing them.
