♥The Dark One Angel ♥1
Series Two - Part Eight2
Ben awoke to the sound of a rooster sounding there morning call in a nearby field.3
Opening his eyes, sheltering the light that poured through the door in front of him, he soon realized that he was in the barnyard.4
Had it all been a dream? Had those creatures been real.5
He looked around, at once seeing two figures huddles up together, talking to each other in hushed tones, as if somebody else was listening to them.6
He rubbed his eyes. It felt like he had slept forever. His eyes hung heavy, his throat was dry and sore. He felt his neck, it ached terribly, like he had been lying with his head titled to the side for to long. Underneath him, his legs lay hung over the edge of the second floor haystack. His legs felt stiffened by cramps as he swung them onto the ledge, rubbing them vigorously in hope relaxing his circulation again.7
One of the figures look up towards him, catching his eye Ben turned away, trying to pay no attention to wither of them. Trying not to show them his fear. For so long he had wanted this, and now when presented with the chance of meeting a real creature of the night it frightened him immensely. It was like their eyes were constantly upon him, seeking him, aware of his every emotion, his every movement. It chilled him deep within the bones, and sent traces of coldness up and down his spine, like a ghost hand, wandering.8
“Child, come down from that great height and join us please,” the creature who had noticed his awakening asked, his slender hand ushering him down, in a trance like fashion.9
Something washed over Ben, he could not control himself, it was as if the creature has full control of his body, as he stood up, his arms crossed over his chest and walked down the bard-yard steps to the bottom floor, and towards the creatures. No matter how hard he tried to deny his body of movement, he could not fight it, it was like his legs had a mind of their own, and he watched, one step in front of another until he stood just a few centimeters before the creatures.10
“Sit child,” he ordered, sliding his long black hair behind his ear, his milky, White skin seemed shadowy in the light of the morning.11
Ben did as he was ordered, taking a seat upon his knees in front of the creatures, his heart beating so fast, he could feel it thumping harshly against his chest. He found it hard to breath, as fear and panicked seeped through every inch of his body. 12
Darius could sense his fear, he breathed it in, and although made to love the smell of fear, it disgusted him, he remembered the mortal feeling himself, remembering the day he himself had been turned by the vampire king himself. He did not wish to increase the fear, but hopefully decrease it, so when they took his blood, just enough to keep him human, he would be relaxed, so as not to take to much. It would have dire consequences if he was in fear.13
“Come child, be still, let you soul relax, no need to be afraid, we wish not to hurt you, but to save you from our league if hungry demons, you must relax, be at ease, they can smell you fear, as we can strongly, if they find us, we will be at loss, and I will not let another death rest upon my shoulders. Be still young one, be still.”

Interesting addition to this series. I wonder why it is that Darius is being so incredibly nice to him and I can't wait to find out more when you add the next chapter. Wonderfully vivid descriptions and emotions for everything on this one. Still loving it

good cop - bad cop
Whom does one trust? Good writing but there were again a lot of run-on sentences that could have been better if broken into segments. Remember less is usually more. I don't mean to make it choppy but it can have more punch if the sentence remains within one idea. Consider it like hit and run. Bam you're hit and then wonder what the hell happened.

beginning: 5, language: 4, plot: 5, ending: 5, dialog: 4, characters: 5.

mmm... very intriguing
I wonder why Darius feels compassion for this mortal. I understand his past, but vampires are predatory. Makes me wonder why Darius is doing this....
