Corina's Fantasy

Corina's Fantasy1

Far away, in the Land of Fantasy, a World is being conjured up so much unlike the one in which we are accustomed to living. Through many dimensions of our modern world this World can be reached. You can slip there through the peace of the first sip of your morning coffee, through the tranquility of a simple walk on the beach or just that moment in time that you take to relax deep in peaceful thought.2

Corina slips into this dimension through her early evening bubble baths. Every evening as she relaxes down into the warm depths of this lilac scented dream she finds the doorway to this World. Secretly she slips inside; not many are aware of this world. Only to those that are completely free to let their minds wander to the unimaginable is this place available. Corina has told no one of her nightly adventures. 3

Instantly, as Corina slips into this World, she is met by the cool night air that wisps her iridescent evening gown to flow around her like the soft caress of her long awaited Prince's hands. Hands that are as soft as the tiny particles of fuzz on the petals of a rose and as gentle as a newborn fawn just learning to walk. Dusk has just drawn the day to an end and the first of many moons has just arisen to add that bluish hue to the world that brings magic to life. Every star twinkling in the sky seemed to be calling her name, whispering to her on the breeze that this is the night. The night of all nights that fantasy is alive in her soul.4

In this World all is awakened in the evening hours, as it rests when the sun rises to steal the magic of the night away. Corina knows she only has but a short time to continue her search for her Prince before the sixth moon ascends over the horizon to complete the stream of moons that streak across the sky in a rainbow of colors. After that the first of the early morning's golden rays of sun set the moons into slumber and the light whisks away her magical World.5

Corina has been searching for her love for many evenings now, knowing he is drawing near. She can feel his presence is closer than ever before. Every fiber of her being tells her it is only a matter of time before they meet face to face. This is part of the magic of this world. Instincts run high and intuition guides you where you need to go. Certain elements of feelings have to be in proper mix in order to obtain that aura that surrounds such an amazing place. It is very crucial to this World and could mean its life or death. Only when all is perfect and all emotions are aligned will you feel the full magnitude and beauty of this World and each person that enters this World experiences it in their own way. This whole world conforms to what they imagine.6

Corina steps out into a field of flowers that glow from the light of the moon. They scatter about like tiny puffs that illuminate the ground in a gentle mist. Her feet sink into the soft plush grass beneath her feet. Deeply she inhales, enjoying the scent of lilacs, before she exhales to fully relax into this world and set her tensions free to float up to the bluish tinted sky. Everything is so wonderful, so perfect, and so peaceful. The evening could not have been more perfect for meeting the sweet prince of her dreams. 7

Suddenly, as if like a bolt of lightening flashing across the sky Corina noticed something rolling towards her down the hill. She is nearly knocked off her feet as this thing crashes into her. She is startled at first, regaining her balance, then like a firework exploding a little elf bursts forth to appear before her. He had unfolded himself from the little ball he had formed to roll himself down the hill. These little elves were known to be pretty quick when they used this means of transporting themselves about. Corina let out a little laugh that sent a soft melody resounding into the air.8

"Edward, you do love to make a grand entrance don't you?" The little elf, clad in the usual green elf clothing, blushed a lovely color of crimson as his blue eyes with purple flecks twinkled with adoration.9

"And you would have it no other way madam." Edward took his elf hat from his head and gave a little bow before Corina.10

"You're correct Edward you are all that I imagine you to be my sweet little friend." Corina took the hat from Edward and replaced it back onto the golden locks of curls on his head. Her heart swelled with the love she felt for this little person who meant so much to her in this World. Edward was always there to greet her with a warm welcome and to offer his assistance in any way he could.11

"Your chariot awaits you this evening ma'am?" Edward held up his small hand to gesture to their right and there stood the most beautiful diamond and emerald studded Chariot being pulled by the most breath-taking creature Corina had even seen. Most in this day would have called the creature a Unicorn, but Corina called her the Angel of Horses. Corina seemed to almost float when she walked, as she approached this gorgeous creature and picked up her nose to give it a gentle kiss. The softness of this magical creature’s nose alone was enough to send shivers of magic to run down her spin. So to pet her soft white fur tantalized her senses even more. 12

"Misty, my dear sweet Angel of Horses!" Corina exclaimed. "How nice it is to see you." Corina traced the soft pastel colors that streaked this creature’s mane as Misty just grazed on the sweet grass below waiting to do her bidding. "But, I'm afraid this evening I am going to explore on foot Edward. I thank-you anyway though." Corina lifted the creatures head to meet her own and gazed into her aqua color eyes. They were like two pools of liquid tropical ocean captured in the orbs of this beauty. She kissed her gently on the forehead. " You do know that I love you so my Misty dear." Corina was so gentle with this creature and Misty nuzzled her nose to Corina's cheek before she disappeared from sight. Just as Misty and her coach disappeared so do did Edward, but Corina knew that they were just but a mere whisper away if she needed them.13

Corina set out on foot crossing the field and entering the enchanted forest that lined the meadow. Inside this forest thousands of little fairies buzzed about like little fireflies that lit the path to where ever she wanted to go. The little fairies giggled with delight to see Corina again, as some flew all around her to get a closer look. Sometimes Corina wondered to whom this place was more mystical for, her or the little inhabitants that she conjured up around her. Corina was lost in thought but she knew just where she wanted to go this evening. Knowing the forest so well she knew that the path to the right, then the left, two more forks to the right and one more fork to the left would take her to the place she wanted to be. 14

A beautiful waterfall opened up in front of her that glistened of gold and silver before it splashed into the pool of pearl colored liquid below. It flowed down towards her to make a crystal stream that sparkled from the moonlight over the rocks it swept across. Corina sat down on the high ground in front of the stream and stared at her reflection in the water's edge. Her long blond hair cascading down to her waist flowed with almost as much beauty as the waterfall before her and her green eyes sparkled with a gentle kind of love and kindness only this World would know. Corina knew she was special and it took only a special person to capture this Prince's heart that awaited her. 15

"Is he here? Is he here?" A soft voice broke Corina out of her reverie and Corina looked up to see one of the fairies before her bursting with excitement. Corina laughed her gentle laugh again as the fairy burst through the air spun around her head and landed on her shoulder. All the while tiny flakes of fairy dust fell from her flight.16

"No, silly, he is not here yet. Do you see him here?" Corina's voice was soft and gentle with the fairy.17

"Darn," the fairy stomped her tiny foot folding her arms across her chest, her wings fluttering madly." How dare he keep you waiting like this," she protested.18

"Don't worry he will be here. I know that tonight is the night," Corina assured the little fairy. " Now you scoot along or he will be too shy to appear." Corina gave a gentle wave of her hand to send the fairy off.19

"But I want to stay and see him," the fairy argued, a small pout playing on her sweet cherub face.20

"You may stay but you have to stay in the shadows and keep very still," Corina warned, making a compromise with the fairy.21

"Oh all right," the fairy relented before flying off to hide in the shadows of the bushes that unbenounced to Corina housed all the tiny fairies that were waiting the arrival of Corina's Prince. 22

Corina leaned back against a soft tuft of earth and closed her eyes and waited. She felt a gentle breeze wash over her and a tranquility unlike any other that she had ever felt before was expelled from deep within her soul. It was almost as if she were floating on a cloud, watching and waiting for that most perfect magical moment to arrive and she could already feel the soft lips of her Prince brush across hers. She let out a soft sigh of ecstasy as she felt the presence drawing nearer. She could feel him, wrapped in his warmth she could taste his kiss and feel his being envelope her as if their souls were being turned into one mixing with the magical atmosphere of her world. She just knew that this was the night that her Prince would float in on the lilac scented breeze and whisk her off to a castle far away to live happily ever after.23

    Heya
Great story! Very dreamy and very romantic (in the sense that you've created a perfect setting)

What I didn't like: ~Somewhere in there her hair was down to her waste. Was that her garbage or did you mean waist?

What I did like: ~Description! I LOVE description and that's pretty much what this story was. Great descriptions of this wonderful World in her mind. (Don't tell anyone, I've got one too shh)

Good luck and thanks for reading the rules.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by not knowing the point I was trying to get across. This is a Fantasy story and the point was to take the reader into a Fantasy World. If you were confused by the ending, I left it to the reader to end the story for themsleves since I began the story as a Fantasy World that anyone can enter and each person sees it their own way. As for the picture; I got it off the web. If you right click on it and then just hit save as into the file you want it in then you will be able to use the picture.

    Hey Meesa P!
    Awww so sweet and dreamy!

    What I didn't like:
~ some of the sentences sounded a little awkward. They could be easily fixed by adding a few more commas or something.
~ I would've liked to know whether or not she found her prince and what happened, but I can appreciate the fact that you wanted it to be thought up by the reader

    What I liked:
~ the idea of a private fantasy world
~ the name Corina is so pretty
    ~ description of the smells!
~ the dream-like quality of the story

Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest! Pixeh and I should have everything judged by the end of the week, if not sooner

    Amazing

I'm so glad I took the time to read this. You must be very insightful for writing something so complete. Some parts had my ass off the seat. :-P "It was almost as if she were floating on a cloud, watching and waiting for that most perfect magical moment to arrive and she could already feel the soft lips of her Prince brush across hers. "<<< so beautiful.
