The pain of the previous day had long since dissipated, but his mind still lingered upon it. His eyes, black, endless, stared without sight. His breathing was slow, almost unnoticeable. The sound of his heart had also long since ceased, but his mind lingered on it also. He always lingered on the past.
The scent of the wolf brought from his thoughts. The wolf had passed the boundary. Punishment was in Jakob's hands.
He jumped from the boundary wall and tracked the wolf's scent. Somehow, the wolf had disappeared into the woods. Jakob, though, had confidence in his abilities. He followed the wolf's trail again.1
It wasn't until Jakob entered the woods that her finally realized his mistake. He had walked right into the wolf's trap, and now, he could not return to the wall. No matter though, he would catch the damned animal and kill it. He would protect the boundary, at all costs.2
The wolf was miles ahead of Jakob, sitting low in the grass. He would ambush the bloodsucker and prove to his clan that he was a valuable player in the pack. Rackeid was a brilliant hunter, and if he could out smart the Vampire, then that was surely enough to ensure his importance. Rackeid, though, had no confidence in his abilities, and that could inevitably prove to be his downfall. He lie in silent wait for his enemy.3

Jakob had finally found the wolf and he sat in a tree staring at him. What should he do now? Should he kill him without a fight, or with an intense battle. The urge to fight with the wolf was overwhelming. The wolf had no idea that Jakob was there watching him. That would be the wolf's mistake, Jakob moved in for the kill.6

At the final second, Rackeid caught the bloodsucker's scent. He looked to his left, and the monster was falling to him, ready for the kill. The cold eyed of a monster was all Rackeid could see, they pierced his flesh. The eyes could see into his soul. Fear was etched into Rackeid's features before he finally moved away. It was only then, did the mortal enemies engage into battle.9

Jakob took his sword and began making ruthless attacks on the wolf, his cuts were desprate, he wanted to end the battle quickly. He was angry at himself, angry because he had not been subtle enough, angry because he had not been quick enough. His rage only increased the ferocity of his swordsmanship. Power seemed to pour from evey part of his body. He quickend his movements even further, and continued his attempt at ending the wolf's life. Rackeid was fighting for his life. He stared into the eyes of a madman. A madman consumed in the grief of the loss of his life. It was as he was thinking about this that he heard a loud Crack! The sound stunned him, and it was in that split second that Jakob had his fangs in Rackeid's chest. Jakob had also heard the loud sound, but he was completely intent on the wolf's demise. He bit his fangs into the wolf's chest. Only biting, the wolf's blood was poison to a Vampire. A flash of light erupted in the night sky. Loud thunder boomed through the night. This was no storm though, this was James. The Dark Angel. James was well toned, and pale. He looked like a god in his black tunic. The silver of his eyes were glowing in a menecing demenor. Hate seemed to cascade from within him, but he said nothing. His very presence silenced the two battling monsters. James began to pace around the beasts, studying them. "why do you fight?" he asked, his voice heavenly and smoothe. It seemed to slice through the hate of the monsters, and soothe their ravaged hearts. The two beasts looked at each other in confusion. This was James, the legendary fallen angel. He had indeed been cast from heaven and forced upon humans from hell. Yet he had just landed in front of them, fallen from the sky. "we fight for we were damned to" Jakob answered for the both of them, his voice unsure of his answer. He looked to James with awe and wonder. He knelt before James, and Rackeid did the same beside him, transforming into his human body. They were at James' mercy.
