In My Dreams

I'm having a hard time trying to put my dreams into words, I always have. This world in my dreams is such a wonderful place, it takes your breath away just from the mere sight of it.1

To start off, I'll tell you of the sky. Even though the clock will strike noon, the sky still remains a fiery orange and brilliant red. The clouds drift on by in colors of deep purple and cobalt blue. With the high winds blowing them by, they strike out like the waves of a vast ocean, trying not to surrender to the mighty winds.2

In the distance, where the sun hangs, the mountains are only blurs of gray and brown. The stand there, strong, not as weak as the humble clouds. The wind will blow hard and harder, but the mountain remains where he has always stood, and always will.3

Islands float on the winds, each with its own tree. The truck seems thin and white, but is strong, and doesn't shake in the fierce wind. The leaves chatter and flutter, being tossed about as they cling to the branches. The funny thing about these leave is that from one side, they will be shaped one way, but from the front or back, they are another.4

On the highest island, is the tallest tree. Its leaves shape a perfect circle from the front, but from the side is a crescent moon. I stand on one of the branches of this tree, staring down to the earth below. I am so high up that I can't even see the ground, but a dark depth. I feel the wind blow by again, making the leaves chatter again. Caught in the moment, I decide to stretch out my arms wide and I dove from the branch.5

Feeling the wind whistle passed my ears and watch as the islands get closer. I catch the wind and avoid hitting the islands, barely missing their numerous reaching arms. I begin to see the ground, it is no longer just a dark pit, but I am not ready to return home yet. I desire to stay a little longer, just wanting to ride the wind again. Suddenly I'm lifted up into the sky as if the wind was under a pair of wings I could not see. I spin around the islands, flying through the leaves and around the trees again. I am so happy that a single tears starts to fall from my eye.6

Everything turns black all of a sudden and I'm being shaken awake. My eyes focus to see my older sister laughing as she wakes me.
"I've been trying to get you up for ten minutes now. C'mon or you'll be late." she said before rushing out of the room.
I look about from my bunk to see my nephews asleep on the other bunks and my own little sisters sharing the bottom of the bunk I was on. Oh how I wish my dream was real, able to fly with the wind on command. I sighed and rubbed. I then realized that a dry tear was resting on my cheek. I started to smile, knowing that somehow...someway...my dream was real...enough.

Ello! Just leave your thoughts!
