Series Two - Part Seven1

Hearing the sound of the grass swaying behind him, Ben could smell the faint smell of  blood.2

He had always been prone to being able to smell the sickly, sweet smell of blood from a mile away. The kids at school had called him shark boy, monster man and the latest that had shocked them all, The creature of the night.3

In the past few days he had felt an extreme urge to tear his fathers livestock to shreds. Like a beast. It seemed to swell in stages, building up till he was consumed, then just as quickly as it would come, it would pass and leave him hungry and unsatisfied.4

He never shared his hunger with anyone. Especially now with the fright of the vampires on everyone’s mind. They would take him away, just like in medieval times and cut him up, or worse drive a stake through his heart. That thought chilled him, and kept his lips sealed in secrecy about his greatest desire.5

Now as the stench got stronger, his nostrils inflamed, and he sat up right, turning around. Every one of his senses working at there highest peak. He could smell the rotting smell of dirt and carnage, and the fear in the night as the sound got closer. 6

Swirling around he felt a presence strong. A hand that seemed to crawl, and creep that cold chill up his spine. That haunting feeling. He saw flashes of light, blinding him senseless for a few moments before the darkness of the night returned. Shadowing two fingers behind the grass.7

“Who’s there,” he shouted, strangling on his own tongue. His fear, his desperation causing his heart to expand in his chest. 8

Was it them? Had they finally come for him?9

He suddenly felt shaken, a little nauseous, as the creatures edged towards him, extending their arms.10

Ben sat still, petrified and aroused my the senses he was feeling, flushing through his body.11

“Don’t be scared young one, we are not here to hurt, we are hear to protect.”12

Those were the last words he heard before complete darkness surrounded him. His body felt free.

Author notes

♥ Part Seven ♥

Again my sense of direction for this piece has been how shall i say... shadowed, by my own depressive feelings and darkness I am, or have been surrounding myself with.. so please excuse that and accept my apology on my behalf..

with that said I am open for feedback, for different angles... good and bad, so that I may move forward towards the goal and so I know I am not taking this is the wrong direction..

Love and many thanks
Blair

First off wanted to give you some hugs

Secondly I think that you still have a good strong story here with this one and I like where you are taking it so far. I can't wait to see what happens next if they seriously aren't there to harm him, or if their telling a major lie. I like the background that you gave in this one on the angel. How he had always longed for blood and kept it hidden. You're doing an excellent job!

    How interesting.

So are the vampires lying to him or do they mean what they say? The next chapter might just tell us....

Good job, even though dark and moody, your writing shines through.
