Satisfaction.

I cuddled up to mary like a boy would to his mother. only mary was my girlfriend, my first love. the thought of her leaving me brought me to tears, so that is why I hold on tight. No one would be happy to loose a loved, unless you were sick like that. But I'm not. I love her, and no one else. Mary and I had met in the late fall of 2006 and we've been together since January 2006. 2 years and 1 month of total bliss. 1

are first date: I was sitting alone in the park on my lunch break from work. I watched her as she swang on the swings. we made eye contact a few times, and being the shy man I am I hid myself in a book. She walked up to me a few minutes later, and she introduced herself. "Hi I'm mary, whats your name". naturally I was a little nervous, not make eye contact, but acknowledging her all the same. "my name is daniel".2

I went back to my book, but she still stood there. a minute or two passed and she sat down next to me. 3

"What are you reading" she said to me.4

"uh...Nothing special, you probably wouldn't like it". she fidgited around a little bit. 5

"How do you know, you don't even know me" she said a little harsher, but still plenty sweet. 6

I set my book down and looked at her. 7

"I'm sorry...I didn't mean it the way I said it" I said.8

she laughed.9

"then what did you mean"?10

"uh...I meant that normally people wouldn't enjoy reading this book". there was a pause for what seemed like forever. 11

"whats your book called" she asked.12

"Its uh.. an autobiography of a man during the 20's, I like it" I looked down "most people would think its boring". 13

"The twenties were a good time" she said.14

"yeah".15

She stared into the sky and took a few deep breaths. She then placed her hand on my thigh. awfully close to my un-mentionables I thought. I barely know her. 16

"You wanna go out for coffee; we could talk about your book". she smiled anticipating an answer.17

"uh.." words would not come out of my mouth. say yes I thought. I felt butterflies in my stomach, almost as bad as my first day of school. I looked at her young face, and managed to nod. 18

"Great, I can't wait". She grabed my book away from me, and took a pen from my pocket, and began to write something down in my book. when she closed the book and handed it to me, she smiled. 19

"well Daniel, I must go. my lunch breaks over". She waved goodbye to me, and I waved back. 20

I looked down at my watch to see the time. I quickly gathered my things and started walking across the street to my office. got to hurry 2 more minutes I thought to myself. 21

Now, in the 2 years I've been with mary, I have to tell you I've changed a lot. I used to be just another middle-aged, painfully shy man. But since I've met mary I've loosened up a bit. I had to, or else I would've never been able to keep up with her. 22

mary and I have the night alone tonight. no worries about work, nothing. just her and I. Mary had choosen to sit at home and watch horror movies. I wasn't much for horror, but I would do anything as long as it made her happy. when I think about it, I am a bit of a push over, but thats only because shes the only one I have. 23

my mother died in febuary 2001 and my dad died in 2004. I have no sibilings, no cousins, no aunts and uncles, and my grandparents have been dead for a while also. I was all alone in this world... until mary came. 24

"Do you want some popcorn" Mary asked as she paused the movie and went into the kitchen. 25

"Yeah, that'd be nice". 26

"How was work today"?27

"Same old stuff, Brand new day. how different can human resources be anyway" I paused "Hows the coffee shop"?28

"Same old stuff, Brand new day". we both laughed.29

"Actually, I'm thinking about making it a cafe" she paused "like coffee, and donuts". we both laughed again. 30

"That sounds good honey". 31

she sat down next to me with a bowl of popcorn, and started the movie again. by the end of the movie I had fallen asleep. mary stroked my hair as I dreamt of her and I together forever.
