Onyx Fire Tear's life (not finished)

Come sit next to the fire and let me weave a web for you. One of a young Indian maiden that found her infinite soul mate, then lost. Close your eyes and picture a lush emerald forest, with high canopy tops. Listen as the babbling brook from the mighty mountains, whispers out to you. In the distance you can hear the lonely screech of an eagle, soaring high, like he was looking for something he can never regain. Feel the depth of sorrow trailing in the winds, caressing your soul, begging to have its story told. Smoke twirling into indefinite vortexes, ones that will never let these ancient souls rest. Let all of this envelop your mind, and awaken your senses to what it is like to have dreams weaved into your life, only to have them suddenly ripped away from you.1

Thirty winters had passed in this maiden’s life and no matter what she did to ensure her happiness, she never felt complete. Something was always missing, something she could never quite understand. For so long she searched, trying to fill the emptiness that had been inside her. When she was at the young age of 21, she married one that she, at that time, thought was the love of her life. Time passed on, and the season continued to cycle, barren summers faded into golden and fire falls, then mystical winters that turned all new in reborn spring. Trying to make her life work with this one was a very difficult thing for her. When she was a child, her father was not their very much and her mother slaved and did all she could to make the family work, sacrificing all she had to, even her own happiness. In time, like her wise mother, the maiden learned how to wear masks to hide all that she felt inside. To wither and fade much like the earth does when winters frigid hand blankets its surface, hiding all the beauty below.2

Incredible longing now is what consumed her, so not wanting to turn out like her mother, she tried to learn how to deal with the internal loss and depression that plagued her for as long as she could possibly remember. You see, so many years went by that this maiden sit and watched her mother slowly die inside from a depth of darkness that as handed to her from the hands of the fates. Her mother before her journeyed into the afterlife when she was just a child, and every winter since then, depression and longing to feel happiness again, loomed deep over this maidens mother. I am not saying that her mother was a bad woman; on the contrary she was a spirit of grand elegance, wisdom, love and devotion. The depression is what Onyx Fire was trying so hard to avoid.3

Onyx Fire would often venture off deep into the realms of security, in the comforting arms of mother earth, just to be able to take time for her, to be able to breathe. Thinking of her life and how much of a non-direction it as taking. New life was born into onyx’s family, one by one, each life precious. Trying so hard to still fill the void, she began to grow up with her children. At the tender age of 24, Onyx had to endure the hardest lesson in her life, the loss of her own beloved mother. She had an illness that no medicine man could ever cure. Her lungs blackened with death, not allowing the air to pass through, is what took a bright shining star from this glorious world. Onyx fire stood at her mother’s grave, watching helplessly as she was lowered into the depths of the earth, wanting so very much to jump in, to end her life. To lie upon the cold harshness of reality, to remain at her mother’s side forever, sadly, this is not what was meant to be. For some reason the great spirits had a grander meaning in life for her, what it was she would not know for many years to come. 4

Working hard, helping to provide for her family, the tears of not belonging always filled her soul, never letting it truly sing. Many times in the middle of the night, Onyx could hear her mother screaming out for her, for Onyx to come and join her in the vast darkness that now consumes her. Onyx Fire finds it harder and harder everyday to fight the temptation of death. She has thought of so many ways to kill herself, using knives, pills, whatever it took to no longer exists, to have some sense of peace in this life. Never did she realize that someone could ever have such a big impact on a person’s life, not till her mother passed on. It was only then did she find herself completely alone, no matter who was in the house with her. Not to long after her mother passed, Onyx Fire’s great uncle passed away as well. Sitting in the arms of a great willow tree, her memories flooded her,5

“My mom died due to a horrid illness. Five and a half weeks later, my great uncle on my father’s side died of cancer. To show support for my father, I went with him to be there for him. Everything went very well with the day. I arrived home and made dinner for my family, put everyone to bed, then retired to my husband's and I bedroom for the night. My friend Mike had stopped by and we talked for a while and I finally went to bed at 1 am. At that time we had a miniature German Shepard that slept in our room then patrolled the house at night. With lights out, I drifted off to slumber. I had a dream that my father and I were back in the funeral home, viewing my uncle. His casket was laid upon a fold out picnic table. My dad had his weight bearing on his hands, when he lifted his hands from the table, the casket fell and my uncle rolled out. They hurriedly put him back in then proceeded to carry him out of the room. As they walked passed me, the casket slipped from their hands and he rolled out again, this time he rose up to hug me and tell me how much he loved me and goodbye. I cried in my dream as he stiffened back up and they carried him out. I woke up screaming with my dog jumping off the bed, barking like a mad woman at some unforeseen thing flying round the room. I heard a good bye being whispered, then whatever or whoever it was flew through the door. My dog hit the door face first, because she was protecting the family. Needless to say, I did not sleep at all that night.”6

Tears of fire fell from her ever so lonely autumn eyes, soaking her raven hair. She thinks of how unfair this life has been to her so far. Losing her mother, her lives, then her dear sweet uncle, how much more could she possibly take on? Apparently Onyx had forgotten that there was a dagger in the palm of her hand that she had been tightly squeezing, sliced her palm wide open. Drop by drop her blood flows to mother earth below, mixing with the earth and glistening in the moon’s light. Curiously she sits there wondering what would happen if she continued to let it flow, letting her spirit join with her mother for once and all. Just then eyes of her children filled her mind’s eye, and in a panic rush, Onyx jumps to her feet rushing home to be with them. Dodging tree limbs and low lying brush, she breathes harder, striving to make it back in record time. All she wants to do is pull them all close in her arms and never let them go, lavishing all her love upon them.7

Years began to slowly melt into each other not giving any room for thinking.8

Her spirit that once soared now becomes dampened and dies a bit more. There was a gleam in her eyes that could light an entire room, which now has smoldered almost completely out. She keeps many masks close with in her reach, just so she is able to fool the rest f the world to the pain she truly feels inside. The darkness that consumes her constantly, her never ending urge for death. How could a once elegant child enter the realms of madness and death? What else made her go so insane? 9

Swirling vortexes loomed around her as new friends strolled in and out of her life. There were a few of great darkness, awoken her hidden black heart, setting her rage of blood free. She would come to find out years later that this was the wrong way to awaken the darkness kept do far inside. Three cloaked figures took her to a secluded room, where they tied her up and proceeded to mark her body with a knife, letting the crimson flow free. Next they took bite after bite out of her sweet tender flesh, not a tear did she shed through the entire night. The elder male tried to have his way with his student, yet she forbade him and his on going advances. Later down the road she met another spirit of darkness that went by the name of Raven. He would also try to mold her to his ways only to keep her venerable soul even more in chaos. Between these four individuals, Onyx Fire was even more lost and tormented than before. 10

Walking the path of darkness only to have the moon’s light as a guide, life became pretty unbearable for Onyx Fire. Her senses became awoken to the spirit realm; she could now feel them more than ever before. There were times that she had to shut herself completely down before the spirits took her over completely. You see after she was awoken, she was casted out to the wolves to fend for herself. Onyx really had no idea what she was doing or how to achieve the total darkness she so desired. Crimson stained dreams filled her nights, as well as did screams from tortured souls of the past. Dismantling bodies and making others pay with the rage she held deep within her is what she wanted them all to feel. The years of pain, humiliation and constant torture have finally boiled to the surface. All of the men in her life that have used her, then thrown away like a broken rag doll, this is what she wanted the world to pay for, and the new found darkness will help her achieve that. Many nights Onyx Fire would sit by a raging fire and write dark, demented poetry, constantly scheming on how to destroy her next victim, if only by spirit. She thought,11

“Fangs dripping blood12

Claws still have bits of flesh under them13

Hair standing straight up14

Tingling from a wonderful nights kill15

Upon the hard concrete16

What is left of my kill lays17

Torn to shreds18

Gods the screams were so good19

I remember the cries and pleads20

Not to end its pathetic life21

Scrambling and screaming22

To late, my teeth have already sunk in23

My prey’s nails dig deep into my back24

As there blood flow freely 25

Tense does its body get26

Then the release as it spirit goes to the underworld27

The thrill of blood running through my fingers28

Smearing upon my face29

Running through my veins30

Sustaining me if even for a while31

What was inside of my prey32

Now is scattered here and there33

Glistening in the harvest moon’s light34

I can’t help but smile at my crafty work35

My hands now tainted crimson36

I simply wipe them on my clothes37

Just more blood to add to my ever-growing collection38

What to do with the body now39

I wonder40

Standing next to a very deep river41

I roll and kick the carcass into the awaiting water arms42

Yes the watery grave will do nicely43

I wave and smile 44

As the body makes a splash45

Like I was saying good-bye to a dear friend46

Sadistic I am47

Washing my hands and face in the blood stained water48

Looking around, I breathe in deep49

Wondering whom I will take for my next donor 50

Always remembering,51

One can never quench the thirst of a vampire”52

As Onyx finished each write, she would cast the parchment paper into the center of the hungry fire, hoping that the spirits of the macabre will hear her prayers and carry out the pain she hopes to set free from her soul. Little did even Onyx see that the more she wished harm upon others the more harm and difficulty came into her life, hence the meeting of one called Latino Fire. A twisted little man was he, dark and mysterious, having no feeling for others and not caring what they thought. His boldness attracted Onyx and her curiosity to learn more about him grew. He went to her and a journey of heartbreak and deceit as well as lies was started. In her reflection now, she sees that his darkness and twisted ways were too much for even her to understand. Time and time again she tried to maintain a friendship with this hell spawn and it fell through with fighting and mistrust every time.  53

The world continued to spin, and season came and went as they often did, and Onyx’s family continued to grow and flourish despite the inner turmoil she was going through. Mask after mask she wore out to ensure the happiness of all of those around her, no matter the cost to herself. Then one day she met a man called Lord Scorpios, like Latino Fire, he too made Onyx curious and envelope her in mystery. He pulled her along for a while, on a darker ride that Fire could ever provide for her. He did well with meddling with her mind till it was nothing more than desert sand. Having her cook and clean for her family as well as take care of his child. They both made wrong choices in their friendship and ended it very badly. Onyx was now wondering if ever she would achieve the happiness she so desired. Sure she had a hard working mate who provided well for their large family, yet that longing never left her for one moment, her longing to fill the hole in her soul.54

One day she found herself in a very heated discussion with a man that was putting her down horribly. Just when she has had enough and was so angered that she was to the point of tears, a gentleman of fire hair and ice eyes came to her side , silencing this man that was being so harsh, with just one glance. Onyx’s eyes grew wide, not with curiosity, but with appreciation to this stranger. No one has ever stood up for her, not even her mate. She has always had to fight her battles all alone, and now here stands a complete stranger to take her by the hand letting no one bring harm to her again. When he turns to look at her, his eyes soften to a sapphire blue and he introduces himself and Lord Drako. Where did he come from, Onyx wonders, and why to her? They spend a lot of time talking and getting to know each other more. 55

Almost immediately, Lord Drako is taken into Onyx’s family. Without hesitation from any member, he was asked to move in and become one of them; due to his current situation he was more than happy to accept the kind invitation. So now instead of a family of six they now became a family of seven. Onyx needed to have surgery on her leg for a tumor that was quite large. With her mates help and Lord Drako’s care she pulled through her recovery quicker than she thought she would. Finally some peace has been brought to her life of chaos. Lord Drako seemed to carry with him the calm of a storm, no matter what swirling storm of destruction was with in him, he always illuminated hope and peace to those around him. With one gentle caress of his hand, He showed Onyx his world, one of majick and realms that no one could ever describe accurately. He and Onyx became inseparable, as well was her mate and Lord Drako, they all truly became a tight knit family.56

Onyx often studied the persona of Drako, listening to his words of wisdom that he spoke and watching the gentleness he portrayed. There were times when all were asleep and her mate was at work that Drako and Onyx would tie into some very heated arguments. Ones to where, by the end of them, one of them was bleeding from self harm. It took a while of Drako showing the hot headed Onyx the error of her ways, for her to understand how people were really looking at her. It was not really till one night, that a young man came to their house, selling his services then he started hitting on Onyx. She did not fully understand what was going on, until Drako sat her down and made her face the ugly truth of herself. Tears flowed from her sweet eyes when she saw that his words were right. All of her past and her so called friends, used her to get what they needed, then discarded her and she was none the wiser. Now all of this was starting to fall into place for Onyx. Drako held tight to her as she cried all of the pain onto his shirt just to prepare for the next morning and the start of a new life. 57

Waking to a tear stained pillow and the sun shinning brighter then she ever remembers before, it felt like she was born all over again. Together they were growing stronger and the family was starting to really pull together. They got word that they had to relocate due to Onyx’s mates work. So they packed up all they had and made the four day journey to the new territory. All the while Onyx learned more and more of Drako, he let her in so freely and she learned to finally break the barriers of her heart and let him in it is not easy for Onyx to love and trust someone all at the same time, but she took a chance one last time. In time we all will be able to tell if this new found happiness will last, or will Onyx b left forever wandering, that is now up to the fates to decide.58

I really hope that fate allowes you to love and trust this person for as long as you want. This is one of those stories/poems that has all the emotions painted into one huge picture. Well done

This story was very intense! So many sadness and losses have happened, and it seems that many times 'you' (I assume that this story is about you) tried and thought to be out of darness just to see that the light wasn't any place near.
The poem fits and resume your story very well!
A sad but well written piece!

    Love and peace,
    Mari

It is not always easy to show what happens on the inside, but it's corageous and to see the written memories of someone is always an elightening experience, for you understand and see a little more the similarities that we as humans face and yet differences in circumstance and events that also make them unique and individual. I applaud that you're choosing to share all these collection of thougths and emotions with us, and there are definitely many things that I can relate too..on the very beginning, the first lines were very powerful to me, for I know that feeling very well of meeting someone like that, close to what could be a soulmate only to see her go away with the tide of events. ( you read my Dragon story already..hehe) A couple of suggestions, hope you don't mind...on line 8 of the 2nd parragraph, "her father was not their very much" I think it should be 'there', though maybe the sentence as "her father was hardly ever at home" could sound better??? i'm not sure...hope you don't mind my suggestions . Parragraph 4 line 3 on the line "non direction it as taking" I think it should be "non direction it was taking". There is something that captures a lot my attention about the events you describe Onyx Tear went through, like she's been through heavy burdens, yet she seems to have a fantastic ability to walk between the two worlds, not an easy spiritual task, but there is like a sensation that not all that we see is the only reality. I've seen intriguing things too in my life...I dunno if i told you this, but one night I saw a huge cross of milky light on the nightsky with the moon at the center of the cross...and I felt very happy during the moments I saw that. I've never belonged to any religion and I have not been baptsized..but that was perhaps my most spiritual moment I've ever lived...still not sure what it meant to see that...but I know I SAW that...not imagination or self-suggestion at all..anyway, very lovely write, so full of sadness yet with a few taints of hope to come and wrap it on the next part, we the readers wish and hope. Take care lady Angel ~ Juan Pablo
