One Chance

Amanda woke up and jumped out of bed, throwing on her clothes and running down the stairs to grab breakfast and head to the field where the moment of truth lay. She was a travel-soccer goalie, a skilled one at that and today was the Championship game. In just two hours she’d be on the field proving to five-hundred people who she really was.1

When she got to the field she was greeted by a stampede of blue, the Melbourne City Club sponsored travel-team. They’d been playing together for three years and had been undefeated since day one. She was tackled by her best friend, Emily, team captain. “Well chick, are you ready?” Emily said confidently.2

“Of course I’m ready! Let’s warm up!” Amanda and Emily motioned for the team to start stretches and warm up shots. They went through their strategies and practiced formation plays. They were ready.3

This is really nicely written. I don't know much about soccer, but it really looks like a stressful sport. Good luck with your story. Patricia
