Hello , let me introduce myself first . My name is Max ( very impressive eh? )short for Maximus the Fabulous .I am a blue and gold Mc Caw. And my story is one of many twists and turns . I had been given up to a rescue petshop because my previuos owner could not keep me anymore . ( I really do not know why ) So I sat there in cage with a pretty hefty pricetag attached to it . People came and looked at me and how annoying it was to always hear" Polly want a cracker" ? I did not want a cracker , I wanted a home and someone to love me .
This one lady always came in to buy food for her fish . She sat next to my cage and she talked to me ..........and I think I fell in love . But she always walked away when she saw that price tag.Well , that fish of hers woke up dead one morning , so she brought her husband to help pick out a new one . Of course she stopped and talked to me first , and then I heard this gruff voice of that man with her " You sure are beautiful" I felt like ripping him apart and lunged at him beak wide opened ....and little did he know I have 2200 lbs of pressure in my beak . But let me get to the point ........he was not intimidated by me nor my price tag and asked the owner to take me out of my cage . Having had very little one on one handcontact for quite awhile i got scared and tried to bite the digit of the owner, who then perched me on that lady's hand. Immediately I regurgitated all over her......heyyyyyy , do not go yuck, that is the way us birds show affection . I was still abit frightened , but I knew that I would get over it , for I sensed that love was waiting for me. Money exchanged hands, the fish never got a second look and home I went to my new family. Oh my gosh , there was a huge Siberian Husky and a ferocious looking cat.....aye aye , aye, but I was Max and I knew could handle them . BTW , they are now my best buddies now. I settled into my new cage and just observed....but I really was intimidated . Even though I really liked that lady , it scared me when she reached into my cage and i used to bite her every chance I got. Blood poured of her hands , but she kept softly talking to me........hmmmmm, maybe I could trust her . So one day i stepped right of my perch on to her hand and instead of biting I pulled her ponytail and yelled" ouch uou little shit" I do not remember where I learned such language.....but now we had bonded , and a bit after i also bonded with this grizzly of a man . But he must always remember , mommy is my main chick and he better not kiss her within sight of me
I have a playgym on which I play everyday , when supervised I get to explore the house ...I love chewing on the dogs toenails ....tee-hee , that dumb dog lets me . I also chewed a chunk out of a chair and some wallpaper ( it is a parrot thing). But what I love most is when mommy takes me to her room and sings Rockabye maxi. I get to lay my head on her pillow and she strokes my feathers . I also love correcting her typos on the PC as you see in this pic . Yes , I am lucky , I am spoiled and pampered and I give love in return . When bedtime comes , mommy sings me the Barney song " I love you....you love me , and daddy covers me up for the night , I get very quiet and I get back up about 8am and see if there is any mischief I can get into , but usually I am a good bird , I seldom screech....only when I do not know where mommy is i let out a loud MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM , if that does not work I resort to MOOOOOTHERRRRRRRRRRRRRR. And this is my story as brief as I could keep it
Sincerly,
Max
PS as you can see mommy has a few typos in here , like her i's are not capitalised....but that is only because i was not there to suprvise

Very good
You were kind enough to read and comment on one of my pieces so I thought I would return the favor. I'm glad I did because I found this delightful piece. You have obvious talent, but more than talent is revealed here. This piece reveals a person with a spiritual insight that sees beyond the tangible world. In spite of the lightheartedness of your story, there is, in a sense, a morality tale embedded within the body of this refreshing and unique creation. Many of us dream of communing with the animals, and it seems you have discovered the secret.

Guilty!
This is funny! I really liked the P.S. That was good. Good job! -
I enjoyed this one very much! How touching to read of how Max bonded with his mommy! I have much the same bond with my cat Sassy, we are so close, when I left for my folks my boyfriend said she was just depressed and waited by the door for me. When I returned two weeks later, she saw me and ran and jumped into my arms, it was touching and cheered me up because my visit with my folks hadn't gone so great.
Anyway, wonderful story! I'm glad you found Max who brings joy and laughter into your home now

Oh and by the way Max is a very beautiful bird! -
Thanks everyone who has been reading my story that I wrote. You know us birds are very intelligent beings , and we love nothing more than a human that understands that. We are much more then "just a dumb animal" And let me take one moment out here to let all of you know " there is NO such thing as a DUMB animal" regardless of what species , and we will love you UNCONDITIONALLY ( even if you abuse us we keep a glimmer of hope that one day you might have a change of heart) So please be kind to all creatures of this world ,

Well, I have to admit that I am a bird lover myself, but my sister's parakeets used to drive me crazy. This is such a cute story, and I could almost hear him calling "Mother." How adorable that must be! Thanks for the laught. Hugs, Patricia

awe, how cute youtwo are together, and seperately too I'm sure, heehee
I just adore all types of creatures, I love animals, and they seem to understand more than humans do most the time, so it's no surprise that you have found a friend in Max! Some very beautiful colors he has on him, nice!
Thanks for sharing, and you, Max, and the family have a great day!

very good
Very well written. I always found birds too noisy and too messy but that might be from growing up on farm full of chickens and turkeys.
a very smooth (and enjoyable) read.
thanks,
