When I first heard the song "Bring me to life," I was fourteen years old and sitting in my room shortly before I was to move. I remember going still and listening to it very hard. I thought it was a beautiful and very sad-sounding song, but I had never heard of Evanescence before and did not really listen to the music. Later I went to see Daredevil in theaters and I recognized it and bought the soundtrack.1
Over the years the song has come to take on a greater meaning for me. A good friend of mine got herself to the point where she was completely self-destructing and even attempted suicide. At one point she ran away for several months, and I have only recently discovered her whereabouts. To me this song reminds me of her. I could always see the pain she was in, but the difference was that I couldn't help her- I couldn't bring her to life again. 2
On a less personal note, the song also strongly reminds me of the episode "Five by five" in the show Angel. The character Faith is someone who is very much in pain and lashes out at others, wishing to die but also refusing to accept help or caring. She does feel like she is dead inside, and Angel helps to bring her into redemption. Pretty much every line correlates to that episode if you've ever seen the show and know who the characters are.

This song certainly has some deep meanings for you. I liked the way you said 'I could'nt bring her to life again.' That was a good sentance. Yes, I have seen the series angel, and you are right, it does seem like Faith. This is a very nicely written memory and I wish you luck in the contest. Kais =)
