Once upon a time, in a magical land atop the clouds, there lived a beautiful goddess. Hair of pure darkest ebony cascaded in long waves over her lithe frame. Her eyes were the deepest purple anyone had ever seen, twinkling at the slightest hint of mischief. She was young for a ruler of her position, but she took it in stride, quite often mixing fun and business to suit her needs.1
Yvette resided in an enormous castle overlooking all of Fairytopia. The kingdom was more beautiful than anyone could ever imagine. Sprawling countrysides of lush green foliage spanned as far as the eye could see. Dainty purple flowers dotted the landscape amongst willow trees that bent gracefully in the gentle breeze. Stunning ponds of silver glimmered as the sun shone down upon them, the light reflected in every child's eyes as they skipped stones across pure waters.2
Every day, Yvette was awakened by the first streams of morning's light pouring in through sheer silken draperies. The sound of robins chirping mixed with children's laughter outside her windows never failed to warm her heart. She would relax with her bowl of fresh fruit, mangoes and cantaloupes, honeydew and bananas as the day began. After consuming the delectable fruits along with some fresh cheese, Yvette would walk out to the meadows surrounding her castle and call to her mighty unicorn, "Sasha!" and whistle a cheerful tune to which the glorious creature would come galloping to her side. 3
Sasha was unlike any other creature ever seen. A shimmering spiraled horn rest atop her graceful head, with a mane of baby blue hair flying in the wind. Her pale blue tail was always braided with iridescent ribbons woven throughout. She had long, lean legs that galloped when needed, complete with alabaster hooves. Her gait was smooth and steady, she too enjoyed mischief. Yvette and Sasha were always getting into some sort of trouble with a little fairy named Alexia.4
Alexia was a tiny fairy, no bigger than a child's hand, but she was a mischievous one. Miniature wings of gossamer glistened with the morning's dew, sometimes catching her curly blonde hair. She had the face of an angel, with pink rosy cheeks and eyes bluer than sapphires. Never was she seen without a smile on her face, as she was always up to some sort of trouble. Her sparkly white boots were no larger than a thimble, but they packed quite a punch. All too often she left the elves in the kingdom with a sparkly boot print on their behinds!5
One day, Yvette, Sasha and Alexia decided to go on a trip through the forest in search of more purple flowers to weave throughout their hair. While reaching out for one last pansy blossom, an elf named Brice appeared, plucking a purple bud from Alexia's golden curls. Not amused with this, Alexia decided to have fun with the little boy. They frolicked through the forest together with him close behind the sparkly trail left by her boots. When the time was right, she lured him right into one of the silver ponds, soaking him through. Knowing he was defeated, he tossed the stolen flower back to Alexia and watched the trio scamper off towards the castle.6
With her wings fluttering madly in the wind, Alexia flew beside Yvette and Sasha as she galloped towards the castle in the distance. Another long day of play and a little mischief began to draw to a close, the sun setting on the horizon far off in the distance. As the day slowly ended, Yvette prepared for bed, wondering just what adventures tomorrow may have in store for her and her friends.7

Yeah, I like this, but it definitely needs more to it. Probably several other chapters. You did a great job introducing the characters, but there really is no story yet. You say they always get into mischief, but nothing happens in this part. Anyway, thanks for sharing. good luck in the contest. I'm sure you'll win.
