Tala’s eyebrows rose at Serbian’s remark “O I’m so sorry” she replied. “That must have been hard on you and your mother to receive a letter not knowing he was dead” 1
Serbian looked at Tala’s huge green eyes seeing sympathy written all over them. “Actually my mother is dead too, just recently. I got the letter just after her funeral.” 2
Tala bit her lip, “god I’m so sorry, that must have been awful for you. “Serbian kept watching her, her face moving from emotion to emotion, sympathy to guilt to embarrassment and back to sympathy. 3
“No actually it was good, I need to find out some more information about my father and my mother so I’m glad I received the letter.” He smiled at her trying to make her more combatable. 4
“So,” he said moving the conversation on “why do u want to be a ghost hunter?” 5
Tala took a deep breath and sighed. “Well” she said “it more that I want help with something then I want to hunt ghosts. And I need a job” she said grinning and trying to ease her tension. She was never combatable talking about her ability to people. They always got this strange look in their eye like they were about to call the men in white coats. 6
“Help with what?” Serbian asked, his own curiously picking up maybe she was looking for answers like he was. 7
“Help with ghosts” Tala said. “I see them everywhere and most of them time they bug me. Help me find this and that person kind of thing. It’s difficult to sleep sometimes. So when I saw the ad I thought it might be useful for both me and Dr Johnson” 8
She smiled at Serbian hoping that he wouldn’t run away from her screaming that there was a mad woman in the shop. While the two stared at each other in silence, Tala was waiting for a reply and Serbian not knowing what to reply with, thinking only. Can she see my mum? Maybe even my dad?9
He was about to ask her when they heard the gentleman sitting a few tables away Tala turned to look and ask him to be quiet but she stopped when she caught the word ghost. He was holding a tape recorder and had a pad and pen like he was taking notes on something. 10
“The Ghost for want of a better word seems to be localised within the sitting room and also seems to hunt the kitchen. There seems to be two ghosts, one of an old woman who warned me of the other which was more active and aggressive towards my presence in the house.”11
The man kept talking as Tala turned back to Serbian and raised her eye brows, “Dr Johnson” she mouthed to him. and smiled.12
