The Rain (Poem)

Rain has often been romantic within my heart.2

Anywhere a raindrop falls, 4

I want to be there to taste it on my lips.6

Never will I lose that wet passion.8

Yes, it's true you can see my stormy soul.10

Girls of rain make it possible to breathe.12

I am lucky to have learned this years ago.14

Release the thunderous clouds to precipitate.16

Light up the sky with droplet diamonds.18

Catch each one on the tip of a tongue.20

Always never forget to kiss the rain.22

Trace every drop that pours back to my heart.24

Author notes

I love the rain (which is truly an understatement). This is dedicated to everyone who does love the rain. I hope if you have a lover, that one day you both kiss in the rain. Once it happens, neither one will look at the rain the same again. It will become the same special feeling that I have in my heart for the rain. This is an acrostic for the screen name here at SW.

    I thought this was beautifully worded.. I am a fan of poetry which makes me feel and this poem made me feel at ease...calm even

    Rainy girl cat! Though I don't think cats like the rain much, I mean they always look miserable when they're wet. I'm not much of a rain person but I do like how everything smells once it's over.

    Awwww this is so beautiful! I am sure she will love it I think her screen name must have really inspired you a lot. The rain can be so romantic when your standing in it with someone that you love. I never have gotten that kiss in the rain, but hmmm maybe one of these days I will. Loved your poem and good luck in the contest!
