Interview about Mechanical Island

1

This is not something out of a Stephen King novel. You may think it is once you finish. This is based on true unofficial events. How do I know it's true? Simple, I have the interview to prove it. I'm now releasing it to the public. If anyone wants to take the time and has the capable expenses available, by all means try to validate it. I was skeptical at first when I interviewed this sole survivor. I'm not any more. I think it's because I know of things that people would never believe no matter if I could prove it to them. The disbelievers would say my proof was fradulent; made up some how. Case in point, many think the trip to the moon was cardboard cutouts with the astronauts being filmed in an undisclosed location in the United States. Some still believe that today! 2

3

I will give you a little background about the island. It's uncharted. It is within what is called the Bermuda Triangle. It was supposed to be the ultimate destination for tourists. It was to be the most interactive playground for adults. The price tag was over five billion dollars. It would have brought ten times that amount the first seven years once the ribbon was cut. I'm not sure if it was greed or the location that turned this island into an evil phenomenon. 4

5

I have no reason not to believe this survivor. He submitted to several tests that would detect any fabrications in his story. If I had the resources, I would visit the island myself. Instead, I will have to be satisfied with his account of the facts. His name is Jack Hamilton. Here is our interview: 6

7

8

9

Theodore: Thank you Jack for doing this interview and letting me have the exclusive rights for broadcasting. 10

11

Jack: You're welcome. I just want people to know about this island. It's a monster! 12

13

Theodore: I'm glad you want others to know and that's the part I want to try in convincing others from your ordeal. 14

15

Jack: I'm lucky to be alive. The other twenty-four guys...ummmmm, I just, ummmmm, it was unreal. It was a nightmare really! 16

17

Theodore: How so Jack? 18

19

Jack: We have been there for months working on a large scale project. Three Hotels that would be connected through a theme park. 20

21

Theodore: When you say connected, you mean that they would sit in the theme park or outside of it, right? 22

23

Jack: Neither! Roller coasters and other rides would be connected to and through them. Like there were some rooms built as tunnels for the coasters. Other floors would have other separate rides. The lobbies of all three would have a special themed ride as well. It was like Las Vegas of the theme parks. You could ride at your convenience. You would be given a card with a strip where normally an attendant would be, then next thing you know you're on the ride to get some thrills. We all were swore to secrecy when we were hired for this huge endeavor. It was like being part of history and I was making forty-eight dollars an hour. The supervisors were pulling in at least seventy-five for equal time. 24

25

Theodore: Sounds like it was a dream job. Where do I put in my application? I would even like to stay at a place like that. 26

27

Jack: That's why we were paid so well. This was unlike any park in the world. Disney would have been jealous. That's until...the things that I will never forget as long as I live. 28

29

Theodore: I sense you're very tense. 30

31

Jack: I am! I am! I'm just horrified to ever go back there again! 32

33

Theodore: This is why I wanted to interview you. To bring the utmost caution to everyone in the world about this place. I know it sounds like a great time. But knowing what you lived through tells me it's nothing except a pure hell. So please go on... 34

35

Jack: It was a hell! Still a hell as far as I'm concerned! We finished everything on time. One week away from flying in Movie Stars, Politicians and other heavy movers and shakers. All twenty-five of us had to test everything ourselves before we did this. 36

37

Theodore: So everything was smooth up until this point? 38

39

Jack: Yes, yes it was! It was on a Monday, we were all chillin' out as a day off for our hard work. We would begin testing on Tuesday and complete it by Saturday and Sunday would prep for all of the guests that would be here the next Monday. Since there were only a number of us, we decided to stay in the Biggest Hotel. The lobby had everything imaginable. There we were watching sports on the many widescreens and playing poker. None of us ever thinking anything could go wrong. The most unusual electrifying storm had just started. We could see the flashing and some strikes like it was Independence Day! It wasn't raining. There never was any rain. Just the lightning all over the place. 40

41

Theodore: I'm guessing that was a sight to see! 42

43

Jack: It was exciting for a while. Then it became scary. The flashing would almost paint like pictures in the sky! 44

45

Theodore: So like beautiful portraits of art! 46

47

Jack: No! More like the devil and evil looking creatures. I thought I was just seeing things until we all said we were looking at the same images. This storm last sixty-one minutes and six seconds exactly. That didn't seem odd at the time for a storm until you broke it down; sixty minutes (60), sixty seconds (60) and six more seconds (6). Now cancel the zeros and what do you have! That's right! 666! 48

49

Theodore: I'm guessing this is where the eerie feelings have started settling in for all! 50

51

Jack: It was! Boy was it ever! You have to remember we were on an island that was yet to be charted. In the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. Do you know the other name of the triangle? 52

53

Theodore: I think I have heard it dubbed "the Devil's Triangle" before! 54

55

Jack: Yes, yes, yes it's called that and possibly with good reason. The relation with the numbers of 666 and the name has to be related somehow. 56

57

Theodore: Was it at this time things went awry? 58

59

Jack: Nope! Only enough to scare the shit out of us... 60

61

Theodore: I will have to bleep that word when this hits the air. 62

63

Jack: I'm sorry! It's a what I'm remembering and it did make us all feel that way. 64

65

Theodore: I understand. Whew, do I ever. I'm hanging on every word you're telling me. It's just the FCC rules we have to be concerned about. They don't care if you lived or died just as long as you don't muddy up the airwaves (chuckles a bit). 66

67

Jack: Rules are rules I guess. Unless you were on that island. Wished they were there to protect us. I'm lucky for the Coast Guard finding me in the raft that day. It's what led up to that day that keeps me having my nightmares. 68

69

Theodore: Are you ok to talk about it? Do you need to take a break for an hour or a day? 70

71

Jack: I better tell you now or I may never talk about it again in my life! 72

73

Theodore: Take your time and tell me when you feel ready. 74

75

Jack: It was Tuesday. Things were going great and operations were performing beyond the standards we were striving for. We all had specific assignments. We couldn't team up for we were stretched as there were only twenty-five of us. I was on the day team of twelve and the other thirteen was on night shift. That night, two of our crew died in two separate rides. We had three medical people there for emergency purposes. They diagnosed both deaths to be electrocution. It was impossible. There was no way that the equipment could have done that and no storms that night. Everything checked out in the day and the rides were smooth without a problem. The next night, five of the nine remaining were killed. Same thing caused their deaths the medical team concluded. 76

77

Theodore: That means you're down to sixteen workers and three medical personnel! 78

79

Jack: Yes! That's right. In two nights, we lost seven people. 80

81

Theodore: No clues I'm guessing to get you closer to their demise? 82

83

Jack: None at all. We had to split up again. Two went from the day crew and worked with the others on the nightshift. All six of them died Thursday night. No storms in sight. No foulplay with the equipment. No explanations that could make the rest of us feel good about being there. The question that couldn't be answered, "why does it not happen during the day?" 84

85

Theodore: That has to be very nerve-wrecking? 86

87

Jack: Two of the medical staff decided to volunteer to ride Friday night with six more from the day team. The remainder of us watch them through the night to evaluate what could be happening. 88

89

Theodore: Since they were being watched, I'm thinking nothing occured! 90

91

Jack: On the contrary! It was the most frightful thing we all witnessed as they were being barbecued in their respective rides. There was flashing lightning, but only in the rides they were on. It was like they became conductors for electricity. I was thinking about leaving the island that morning. The doctor and other three workers told me to give it one more night. I told them I'm not getting on anything as my condition to remain. 92

93

Theodore: I wouldn't think any of you would by this time. 94

95

Jack: Well, that's what you would think! The other three workers said it couldn't happen to them. There's no way. I think I and the Doctor was the ones with any sense by this time. We watched them do their rides. Everything to be ok until they were about to finish them. Everyone of them yelling and screaming that they were tough and no ride would take them down. The Doc and I were becoming believers. 96

97

Theodore: Finally, someone was surviving the rides then! 98

99

Jack: Until the final seconds. It's like the rides have a mind of their own now. The rides put on the show in those final seconds. It was cruel what these machines were doing. Then there were sounds in the hotels. Almost ghostly like talk! The Doc and I ran for the doors. We escaped and while we were running towards the beach, we glimpsed behind us and saw something that will never be explained. 100

101

Theodore: Was it that bad? 102

103

Jack: Worse than bad. Worse I tell you! I could see that the sun was about to rise and couldn't be happier to see daybreak. As we were running, we noticed all the trucks and contruction vehicles were operating themselves. No way we both thought. Impossible! Freaking Impossible! I remembered about the FCC this time (he lets out a laugh basically for the first time during the interview) 104

105

Theodore: So it was almost Stephen King like? I remember seeing trucks alive in his flick called "Maximum Overdrive." I think that was the title. I also remember a much older movie called "killdozer." Sounds like this was a combination of them both. 106

107

Jack: I think you could say that and throw some Bermuda Triangle movies in there and you could have the ultimate scary picture show. I know, I lived through it! 108

109

Theodore: I noticed you're not talking about the Doctor any more. 110

111

Jack: Yeah! That's why I will never go back to that place again. I'm not sure what is dead and what is alive on that damn place. I thought we were both were headed for safety. That's until the mini-dump truck came from no where and ran him over. I felt like I was "the flash" for I was running as fast as I could. "Flash" is a character from a comic book when I was growing up. Just wasn't sure if you knew him or not. 112

113

Theodore: Yes, I know this comic book hero (couple of chuckles). How did you escape? 114

115

Jack: Just a few moments later, the sun broke. Everything I saw moving had stopped in its' tracks. I knew then this was the time to leave. It was Sunday and I decided I would rather drift out to sea and take my chances rather to stay one more night on that cursed island! 116

117

Theodore: When the Coast Guard rescued you, did you tell them about your story? 118

119

Jack: Yes! Of course they thought I was demented. I kept telling them that they had to warn this group of investers called GIT (Grand Island Tour). They had to be warned asap. I didn't want anyone flying out today, nor did I for its' debut for Monday. There will be alot of dead people. 120

121

Theodore: This is Thursday. Four days after your rescue. Were you able to convince anyone by now? 122

123

Jack: Not at all! I can tell you there are more people added to missing persons now as of today. I called my group and tehy laughed at me. Thinking I was making the whole thing up so they would go bankrupt. I did what I could do. Then when you asked me to do this interview. I figured this was my last chance of warning others. I probably will come across sounding like a nut. At least I tried and so did you. 124

125

Theodore: Jack, I know this had to be hard for you to do. I want to thank you and I bet others will do the same once they do learn about the island. 126

127

Jack: You don't think I'm a nut? 128

129

Theodore: Not at all. 130

131

Jack: You're the first one! (gives a big grin). 132

133

Theodore: I guess you don't want to go any place that's an island. Would I be correct? 134

135

Jack: I'm going to find and buy a house in the middle of the states. I don't care if it's Kansas, Nebraska or Iowa. Somewhere that all I have to dodge is snowstorms or tornadoes. I feel like I have a better chance with those than any island these days. 136

137

Theodore: I want to thank you for this interview again. You're saving lives by doing it. 138

139

Jack: You're welcome. I'm glad that I could do something. 140

141

142

143

144

145

The interview concludes on that note. Tune in again for another episode when Theodore Edward Bare tries to bring another valuable and interesting subject. 146

LOL oh my god! Wow! This is so clever and creative. I wasn't sure the way you talked what to expect when I came here, but wow! This just blew my mind. I loved it. It's creative, funny, imaginative and just one hell of a great read. I was laughing and terrified of that place at the same time. How on earth did you ever think to write this one? I can't get over how amazing it is. This has got to rank up there as one of my favorite things of yours it is that cool. Makes me want to run from those amusement park rides and reminds me of a scene in Final Destination too. Great job!!! Keep the interviews coming

Just many things came at me yesterday and I decided to write this instead of a story, but as an interview thinking it may give the feeling it could be more real. Who's to say it's not right(lol)! Jack had me convinced. I'm not sure what or who I may interview next, but I'm sure it could be a talking car, werewolf, vampire or possibly a ghost buster(lol).

PS: Thank you for the great and wonderful comment
