The Tilly May School of Redundancy and Superfluity School, Declaration of Intention and Goals Charter, Covenant.2
Explicitly extend the short and laconic, to thwart the terser versers and those just too monophonic,3
Expounding out the brevity and the oft-implied proclivity to levity,4
By extending well beyond the scan scheme of the poem and the rhyme… inducing linear longevity: 5
We will: -6
Always increase the verbosity by adding exaggerated exquisite pomposity7
To leave the lingering intimation, for longer lines and less information, 8
To evoke cacophonation and carefully hide any accidental explanation,9
To reiterate the mote rhetorical deviation, 10
To derive a per-verse sad elation,11
To never shorten in revision,12
To detour simply as flocculation13
To techno babble on all occasions,14
To use words like – nuclear fishin’,15
To thus erase any erudition,16
To inculcate superstition -17
That may creep into our craft. 18
Sesquipedalian largiloquance – perchance will catch quintessential eloquence, 19
And counterpoint the mellifluous melodic metaphoric - it should be severely soporific.20
And thus our poignant prose and poetry will achieve a Gatesian proclivity to windows on the world!21
Unnoticed among the many changes on Allpoetry – Ms May was award the diploma, of certification, certificate, the zenith and highest award, the Departmental Section of Tautology and Reiteration can bestow upon student-scholar, on graduation at the end of class completion!22
Our praise, congratulations and good wishes are extended and proffered to her!23
-oOo- ~~~ WELL DONE TILLY! ~~~ -oOo-24
Sub note A: -25
(No implication is made as to Tilly May’s attributes as a writer… Indeed if you have not read her work you should do so immediately… well after you have read the rest of this blurb… and commented at the bottom… soon… go and read her poems!)26
Sub note B: -27
(If you hated the above it was entirely Tilly May’s idea – if however you liked it, it was mine and Ms May simply supplied the tinniest grain of a hint towards the suggestion of the idea.) 28
What did you think? Please comment!

I'm doing a 'catch-up' (yet again) and I must have missed this one.
I'm gobsmacked. My jaw's dropping and I'm shell shocked.
Bloody good innit?! -
Very good
I think you maybe a sesquipedalianist. I obviously am not even though I use big words like sesquipedalianist (yes, I know what that means or I wouldn't use it). I enjoyed your...um...writing sample very much. Keep up the good work. -
exponentially delightful, as per verse verses verse, and the hithertofore explanations not withstanding. Be informed that the intrinsic value of this treatise does not lie in it's profundity, but in its complexius insatiablilitus.

Ah, I have always loved this one...but, I do have one tiny spelling issue...those who would use the term "nuclear fishin'" would also spell the word "nuculer" rather than "nuclear". If you doubt that, simply listen to any American TV news reporter. (YOu are the master of wordplay....a veritable D'Artegnon of sharpened wit....the Inegio Montoya of...ah, never mind...you know what I mean.

Ageing??! AGEING??
OY, hurrumph, pashaw!
Redundancy is timeless, ageless, and eternal!
Don't forget to remember that mister man!
I shall leave you to slap your own wrists.

Very funny, Silica, my personal favorite snippet was "never shorten in revision." Perhaps a young writer could wade through this mess and make a list of opposites in an effort to improve his writing.
Good providence in the contest!

Nice to see a clear mission statement. I believe I've seen similar on many a wall, always reassures you to know that the reader is valued as an individual, and that things are in safe hands. Please feel free to flocculate - I tend to do it with porridge, but I try my best not to. Never use one word where ten can do as good a job! Best Wishes.

Thank you Master genielassie (I know – but Mistress has unfortunate connotations and even Madam is not without unfortunate nuances… perhaps Ma’am – if you prefer or lady… although that doesn’t really concur with, the authority by experience and skill level that I wanted to invoke…) I really do not believe for a moment that one of your effulgent standing understands so little… though I thank you for the kind thought. This is a somewhat ageing piece but seemed to be in the spirit of the contest and since the entries were low… I’m glad it brought a smile – that was the main reason for its creation – and thanks for reading!
-
Oddly enough silica... I am applauding this piece because I only understood about 5% of what you said
. I think that was the point though, to make as little REAL sense as possible. Which you have...LOL... If everything isn't a contradiction up there... then it is sayiong absolutely the exact same thing that was already said in giant words.
Ohhhh thank you for confusing me
Best wishes... ~genielassie~
