Mr. Linden's Library

On Monday October 20, 1995, Lucy,a thirteen year old ,went to Mr. Lindens library. She went to look at some books. When Lucy got to All About Vines, she was curious about it. Why would a library have this book? Who would want this book? I know I don't want it. But I guess I'll check why its so important. Who wouldn't know about vines? 1

I know little children don't know, she thought. When she checked out the book Mr. Linden warned her. She didn't believe him. But it was a magical book. On her way home she had a feeling someone was watching her. When she got home she was tired so she figured she'd read it. While she was reading it she heard a noise. 2

She thought it was her black cat, Suzie. She saw a shadow and at that moment she knew it wasn't Suzie. She saw it go into the kitchen. He came in the room she was in and gave her a drink so she'd fall asleep. He started to take the book until it grew vines out of it. No one ever knew who it was and never tried to find out because they were afraid of the book. Why? Because of that day. She awoke in darkness. She found herself in a room made of vines. She found what Mr. Linden meant. It taught her not to judge a book by its cover. They found the person who put her to sleep for four days. They found it was Jay Farrows, Lucy's cousin. Everyone was happy to see her alive because of her passing out. Well that is all, Jay was put in jail for a year and Lucy, well lets say she's in the greatest mood, today.
