In the year of 0 E.Y. (Early Years), Protencio was created. 1
Two deities, one of light and one of darkness, spun stars and nebulas for no mortal being knows how long. Protencio was the result of their labor, and yet the deities were not satisfied for there were no others to marvel and praise them. 2
Lonely, the god and goddess conceived a child of neutrality and, in doing so, discovered a purpose for their planet- to fill it with creations of their likeness. 3
The god of light and good, Palestine, took earth and molded it into a short form, stout and lot to the ground it would work; the short form of the being reminded him of his baby son. 4
The goddess of evil and darkness, Styx, watched jealously as her husband breathed life into the creature that was to be known as a dwarf. At the first available opportunity, she added a hint of herself, thus making the dwarf able to be swayed to her side.5
Seeing what Styx had done and angry, Palestine secretly formed another being -a polar opposite of the first- and gifted the first elf with life. He was tall, fair, thin, and similar to Palestine in every way.6
The young god, witness to all this (for children see everything) wanted a race to call his own--a unique species. 7
1000 E.Y., one millennia later -for gods consider this a blink of an eye- the god of neutrality discovered something about the elves and dwarves. Not only were they too different and quarreled often, but it went deeper than meets the mortal eye: elves were fragile inside-out and dwarves were strong of will inside-out. Why not make something to link the two arguing species together? If not, the Balance which supported Protencio would be upset.8
The young god made a creature of strong will but fragile flesh so all would be amazed at what it could accomplish in so little time- the first human.9
Elves were gifted with immortal grace and arrows that rarely, if never, missed their target, dwarves gifted with handling earth and physical strength, but humans would surpass both for this new race would have something special- a will to survive, a choice to be good or evil. 10
The child was happy. He had created a link between his parent's bickering beings. 11
On the other hand, the elves and dwarves weren't happy. Neither was keen of the ungraceful, ugly, clumsy, and thick new race whose lifespans lasted pitifully short in comparison to their own. These things, these humans, were senseless to their world -deaf, dumb, blind, and unfeeling- something that amazed and terrified both races, especially after witnessing the pure clumsiness of humanity. 12
At first, they left the humans to their caves and creation of fire and thus underestimated this new, primitive species. But humans breed like rats, as the other two races discovered, and they destroyed all they touched and rebuilt a perverted version of the original.13
These humans were becoming a threat.14
They threated to engulf the other races entirely, the elves whispered. The dwarves rumored that the humans would wipe everything out and waste the precious gems they toiled. 15
Spats broke out; the elves and dwarves -for the first and only time in Protencio's history- united and slaughtered the humans who trespassed on their lands. The humans flamed with the will to survive and defied them like a wave breaking on a rock. 16
Water on a rock may seem unimpressive but over time the rocks wears away. 17
Palestine and Styx confronted their son, rebuking him for creating a plague, commanding him to remove his species. Devastated, the child reasoned that one of his parents must move one species to their own dimension because without the humans, the elves and dwarves would annihilate one another. 18
The triumvirate agreed to allow portals back to the original Portencia where the elves would remain. They could be accessed by burnt offerings of any kind. 19
While the dwarves relocated to their own dimension, the humans were moved to another dimension of Protencio, a time pocket, to the point where Protencio was empty of elves and dwarves. This dimension was renamed Earth. 20
The child of neutrality watched as humans progressed, warred, and advanced; he was proud. But his creation had a mind of its own. They created false gods, phony religions and forgot him. The frustrated young god didn't know what to do because he was too young to know how to control them. 21
His parents had forgotten to instruct him how to control his creation.22
In anguish, the young god perished when his creation openly rebuked him and ceased to worship him all together. This left the humans to do as they pleased, unchecked.
