When I had heard the question presented, "what are the color of your wings?" I was confused. I had never heard a question so open ended and personal. I thought hard and long about it. What color could my wings be? There are many colors that are possible, each meaning something different to everyone who knows of them. I decided I myself have black wings. This is not because I myself am dark or foreboding in any particular way because many people think that is what black would symbolize. I believe that black represents mystery and misunderstanding. Black is not truly a color however, rather it is an absence of other colors, so I believe it is also symbolic of being alone or lonely. Though this leaves many holes in who I am which were soon to be presented in the next question.1
What is the color of my soul. This made me peer further into myself and ask who I truly am. I examined my everyday life and what I seek to gain other than monetary benefit. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I am blue. I associate blue with water and water, primarily the ocean, is deep and flowing. It can be calm and peaceful at one time yet fierce and rough at another. It is also constantly moving, rising and falling with the tides. This symbolizes many moods and personalities that shift and change with time. Blue also has many hues and shades. It can be a dark and heavy midnight blue, but then at other times it will be light and bright like sky blue. The lighter tones of blue also symbolize the abnormalities in my behavior such as the reason that although my wings are black, why would I wish to surround myself with people whose wings would be bright and cheerful colors?
Author notes
Very unoriginal in design, but it is from the heart and that should count for something

I like that you associated blue with the ocean and with calm emotions, but also with fierce ones. Also, that your image of black wasn't just pain and darkness of self. Good work

I think you went really deep into yourself and dug out these colors, I could never quite obtain that. My meanings are cut short when they seem like meanings to everyone else. I love this, I really do, because you seem to go beyond that. Wonderful piece, I wish you all my luck!
